Había una vez una pedagogía
This story illustrates a profound contrast between two conceptions of education. In an imaginary world, Mariángela discovers a playful and creative school, where learning is a game, curiosity is celebrated and knowledge is explored in a pleasurable way. The inhabitants of the valley promote a dynamic education, where sensitivity and creativity are valued. However, upon awakening to reality, Mariángela is confronted with a traditional and rigid educational system, where learning is associated with repetition, punishment and a lack of imagination. The text criticizes the dissociation between the true joy of learning and conventional educational practice, advocating a more humane and stimulating approach to teaching.
The text reflects on the nature of the creative act, emphasizing that creativity does not arise spontaneously but rather requires action, effort, and perseverance. The author invites readers to experiment, observe, imagine, and combine seemingly incompatible elements as part of the creative process. Creativity, the text suggests, is not about waiting for a sudden “spark” of inspiration, but about engaging in constant work—writing, erasing, and trying again. This practice is understood as a continuous exercise of life and awareness, in which each day offers new possibilities to create and transform reality. The author cites Hernando Gómez, who defines creativity as an “eternal task,” yet brief in its historical realization, since human time is finite.
This article analyses the Orthography of the Spanish Language (1999), a pan-Hispanic compendium of the Association of Academies and the Royal Spanish Academy. This text, the result of a collaborative effort under the direction of Víctor García de la Concha, offers an exhaustive approach to the Spanish orthographic system. It examines the most relevant changes, such as the unification of the nomenclature of letters and the elimination of the diacritical accent on "solo" and demonstrative pronouns. It also addresses the controversies generated by the suppression of historical letters and the adaptation of foreign words. Ecuador: los intrincados caminos del capital
This article examines the characteristics of capitalist development in Ecuador, challenging the notion that the country\u27s underdevelopment is only a consequence of external factors. While capitalism is traditionally understood as a system driven by dispossession and conflict, in the Ecuadorian case it is argued that the lack of full capitalist development is also a product of internal historical and administrative particularities. These have limited the evolution of productive forces and hindered national integration. The article underlines the need for structural transformations, especially in agriculture and the land market, as indispensable conditions for capitalist development. In addition, a re-evaluation of the entrepreneurial mentality and national strategies is proposed to overcome the rentier profile and foster sustained growth, suggesting that internal development is key to building a more coherent capitalist system in Ecuador.

The IOA organized a Symposium on the problems of the contemporary world in May of this year, which was attended by students from the canton\u27s high schools. Frank dialogue, a plurality of interpretations, and the desire to be heard were the general characteristics of the gathering. From this meeting, we have extracted the original thought, considering it a priority that the current era must open the mind and heart to address the unsettling way the current generation\u27s problems are evaluated, and, to the extent possible, prevent the lack of dialogue from worsening the generational problem and, with it, the adoption of difficult or negative individual or massive attitudes.
