Agonists Targeting the cGAS-STING Signaling Pathway and Their Applications in Cancer Therapy

    Get PDF
The cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) serves as a pivotal component of the immune system, playing a crucial role in regulating the innate immune response elicited by both exogenous and endogenous DNA. This enzyme recognizes the aberrant presence of DNA in the cytoplasm, subsequently activating the signaling pathway mediated by the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) and thereby fulfilling a critical role in immune response mechanisms. This review delineates the mechanisms of the cGAS-STING pathway and elucidates the small-molecule agonists targeting STING, along with their combined applications in various tumor treatment strategies. The aim of this review is to provide a valuable reference framework and insights for ongoing research in related fields

Landscape Planning and Design in High-Density Cities of China: Challenges, Strategies, and International Insights

    Get PDF
High-density cities, emerging as primary hubs for human activities and products of intensified population-land dynamics, are confronting a series of ecological challenges in China, including land scarcity, urban heat island effects, and fragmented green spaces. These issues exacerbate the vulnerability of urban ecosystems through negative feedback loops. By analyzing Singapore’s transformative experience from a "Garden City" to a "City in Nature", this study systematically summarizes its ecological planning strategies, technological innovation pathways, and social governance models. Integrating China’s practical challenges—such as land constraints, heat island effects, and ecological fragmentation—this research proposes a localized implementation framework of "networked ecological restoration, three-dimensional spatial development, and smart collaborative governance," offering theoretical and practical references for the development of "Park Cities." Local practices in China, exemplified by the Qianhai case in Shenzhen, demonstrate the feasibility of Singapore’s experience through cross-regional ecological corridors, climate-resilient vertical greening, and intelligent management platforms. However, high technical costs, administrative barriers, and the lack of long-term governance mechanisms remain critical challenges. Future efforts should prioritize policy innovation, technology adaptation, and social co-governance to shift high-density cities from "quantitative greening" to "function-first" ecological transformation, fostering synergy between ecological and economic development

A Popular Participation Model to Avoid a New Governance Crisis in Venezuela and Peru: A Study of the Oil and Mining Industries

    Get PDF
Shared governance through popular participation and social oversight represents a significant challenge and opportunity in combating corruption and enhancing public policy effectiveness. This study, which involved a survey of 35 interviews with students from Peru and Venezuela (University Mayor de San Marcos, Lima y University Carabolo, Valencia) and employed Structural Equation Modeling, proposed a theoretical model titled Popular Participation and Cultural Chage to reduce Corruption -PMRC. Considering Venezuela's position as one of the largest oil producers in the world, the research focused on the following central question: What is the impact of Venezuelans' social participation in public policies related to gasoline supply? Despite receiving financial aid from China and Russia to support both the public and private sectors, the Venezuelan government charges 1.36perliterofgasolinethehighestpriceinLatinAmericadespiteaproductioncostofonly1.36 per liter of gasoline—the highest price in Latin America—despite a production cost of only 0.035 per liter. The study's key conclusion is that the governments of Venezuela and Peru are exploiting societal ignorance by closing educational institutions and restricting access to comprehensive knowledge, limiting citizens to only basic information. The research model suggests that promoting knowledge-sharing within society and with other nations holds transformative potential for national cultural change, ultimately contributing to the reduction of corruption. The study emphasizes that combating corruption requires shifting from a purely legalistic approach to fostering an ethical cultural transformation, beginning with exemplary governance practices

LMDI and STIRPAT Analysis of Carbon Emissions in the Chengdu-Chongqing Region: An Industrial Advancement Perspective

    Get PDF
This study investigates the driving factors of carbon emissions in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration, a key economic region in western China, using the LMDI decomposition method and the STIRPAT model. The results reveal that energy structure optimization and energy consumption intensity reduction are the primary drivers of carbon emission reductions, highlighting the importance of clean energy adoption and improvements in energy efficiency. In contrast, economic growth and secondary industry expansion are the dominant contributors to carbon emission increases, reflecting the energy-intensive nature of industrial activities and the strong coupling between economic development and energy consumption. The tertiary industry exhibits a dual role, with its expansion reducing emissions in regions with higher levels of green transformation but increasing emissions in areas dominated by traditional service sectors. Industrial advancement (or industrial structural upgrading) emerges as a critical strategy for mitigating emissions, while population size has a relatively small direct impact, though urbanization amplifies emissions in high-density areas. This study contributes methodologically by integrating the LMDI and STIRPAT approaches, providing a robust framework for analyzing carbon emission drivers. Empirically, it highlights significant regional heterogeneity in emission drivers across counties and districts, offering valuable insights for targeted low-carbon development strategies. The findings underscore the need to accelerate clean energy adoption, enhance energy efficiency, promote green industrial transformation, and optimize urbanization patterns. These results provide a scientific basis for formulating policies to achieve carbon neutrality and sustainable development in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration

Validation of Translation Universals Based on Comparable Corpus: Simplification and Explicitation

    Get PDF
This study aims to validate the phenomena of simplification and explicitation in translation universals using comparable corpus, providing support for translation theory and practice. By constructing a corpus encompassing multiple language pairs and text types, and employing methods such as frequency analysis and chi-square tests, the study compares translated texts with native texts. The findings reveal that translated texts tend to use more common vocabulary and simplify complex syntactic structures, as exemplified in translations of The Moon and Sixpence and The Million Pound Note. Explicitation is achieved through semantic supplementation and syntactic adjustments. This research offers insights for translation teaching and practice, contributing to the advancement of translation studies

    Get PDF
As a key bridge connecting individuals and opportunities, social networks play a central driving and regulating role in the complex interaction between population mobility and economic development. The purpose of this paper is to systematically review and critically assess the research on population mobility and economic development based on the social network perspective, focusing on how the social network influences mobility decisions, patterns, and ultimate economic effects through the core mechanisms of information dissemination, trust building, resource acquisition, and social support. The study shows that social networks can not only significantly reduce the cost and risk of migration and shape the path of mobility, but also become an important force to promote regional economic development by facilitating knowledge spillover, labour market matching, consumption pattern integration and industrial linkage. At the same time, its potential closure and uneven distribution of resources may also exacerbate regional imbalance and social differentiation. Future research needs to deepen the exploration of the mechanism, pay attention to the heterogeneity and dynamic evolution of the network, and provide more operational insights for policy making
