    Funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), with co-financing from the Moroccan government and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), it was launched in 2017 and ended in March 2025. FAO is the GEF implementing and executing agency for the project. Its implementation was carried out in consultation and collaboration with the Sustainable Development Directorate of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and the National Agency for the Development of Oasis Zones and the Argan Tree. The evaluation has a dual objective: to ensure accountability and foster organizational learning. It was conducted through a document review, a field mission, semi-structured interviews, a case study, and focus groups with stakeholders and end beneficiaries

    In 2024, the Government of Sweden, through the Swedish International Development CooperationAgency (Sida), contributed SEK 74 million (USD 7.15 million) to the Food and Agriculture Organizationof the United Nations (FAO). Thanks to this support, FAO implemented five projects from 1 March 2024 to 28 February 2025 – three funded via SFERA – aimed at scaling up life-saving agricultural assistance and advancing anticipatory action to assist communities affected by food crises in Afghanistan, the Niger and Somalia. Through these projects, FAO supported 36 603 vulnerable households (302 600 people), including 6 396 female-headed households, to improve their food security, nutrition, and self-reliance and engage in the livelihood activities they depend on despite the challenges

    La cuarta reunión del Grupo de trabajo técnico de composición abierta sobre intercambio de información del Acuerdo sobre medidas del Estado rector del Puerto se celebró en Ciudad de Panamá, Panamá, del 18 al 22 de marzo de 2024.El Grupo elogió a la Secretaría tras la puesta en marcha de la primera versión operativa del Sistema mundial de intercambio de información del Acuerdo sobre medidas del Estado rector del Puerto por parte de la FAO el 18 de diciembre de 2023. También reiteró la importancia de que todas las Partes presenten información sobre los puntos de contacto nacionales y los puertos designados y mantengan esta información actualizada, al tiempo que animó a los Estados que no sean Partes a designar puntos de contacto nacionales para recibir las notificaciones del Sistema mundial de intercambio de información. Asimismo, reconoció los avances realizados en la conectividad del Sistema mundial de intercambio de información con algunos sistemas electrónicos de intercambio de información regionales y nacionales y alentó a la Secretaría a seguir explorando formas de conexión, siempre que sea posible y pertinente. Por último, el Grupo encargó a la Secretaría que procediera al desarrollo del módulo de solicitud previa de entrada al puerto del Sistema mundial de intercambio de información

    The "National Gender Profile of Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods Viet Nam" assesses gender equality and women's empowerment in Vietnamese agriculture from 2018, informing FAO's work, national planning, SDG monitoring, and CEDAW discussions. Viet Nam has advanced gender equality through legal reforms and agricultural programmes, improving women's financial access and reducing rural unemployment. However, challenges persist due to inadequate gender integration in programmes. Women, despite being 52 percentage of agricultural workers, face lower qualifications, unstable jobs, and income disparities. They also have limited access to skills, knowledge, and agricultural extension services, while traditional gender roles and slow land ownership reforms hinder their access to resources
