    Transformation in Destination Attractiveness Attributes After Covid 19 Pandemic: A Review

    From a historical perspective, it is impossible to envision tourism without travellers’ mobility. However, the Covid-19 pandemic unlocked new avenues for tourism, including virtual travel. The pandemic seriously impacted the travel and tourism industries due to border closures that grounded the transportation industry and led to job losses. Historically, tourism has quickly bounced back after disasters, pandemics, and epidemics. Hence, a new outlook was developed with the introduction of the New Normal or “business as usual”. The pandemic of covid-19 has compelled tourism industry stakeholders to explore and analyze the transformative attributes of tourist destination attractiveness to revive the industry and regain tourists’ confidence. The research study is constructed on secondary data and literature analysis. The researchers have examined numerous studies representing transformative destination attractiveness to examine the characteristics. The study concludes that there is a paradigm shift in the attributes affecting tourist destination attractiveness which will help the tourism stakeholders in marketing and restarting tourism after the pandemic. These transformative attributes will increase the number of visitors, assisting the tourism industry's recovery from the pandemic.     Congruity and Incongruity Between Projected (DMO) and Perceived (UGC) Destination Image – A Comparative Content Analysis

    User-generated Content (UGC) in the digital world has gained credibility as a kind of word-of-mouth in recent years with the advent of new Information and communication technologies (ICT). Travelers rely on UGC information than DMO content while the travel decision-making process. No previous research has been conducted to correlate both UGC and DMO destination images of Kerala. The study analyzes the dominant attributes of the destination image of Kerala presented through DMO and UGC Visual Content. Also, find out whether there is any commonality in destination attributes between pictures posted by tourists (UGC) and DMO or vice versa. Images of Kerala were gathered for this study from DMO’s website (www.keralatourism.org), Instagram, and Facebook, two of the most popular social media platforms worldwide. By applying content analysis methodology to the collected DMO and UGC images of Kerala Tourism, the research objectives are attained. Data from the last five years were considered for the study to understand the latest trends and changing patterns. The results aid tourism stakeholders in planning effective social media marketing strategies to capture the imagination of tourists, hence creating a better destination image online

    The Sigma coloring  of a graph G with n vertices is an injection from V(G) to {1,2,3...,n}  such that the color sums (adding  the colors of the neighbouring vertices) of any two neighbouring vertices are different. The smallest number  of  colours  needed  to color a graph G  is represented by its Sigma Chromatic number.     Medical Tourism, a sector still in an infancy stage in India forms a part of the global Medical Tourism corridor and is acknowledged on the itinerary of a medical tourist. This paper intends to explore the scope of Medical Tourism in developing cities of India. It aims to investigate the reasons for low medical tourism penetration despite possessing all the competitive advantages vital for a medical tourism destination. A survey conducted at 21 hospitals in Mangalore uncovered the extent of awareness among healthcare workers and initiatives taken by the healthcare industry to outperform in this sector. Simple random sampling was employed to arrive at the sample size and the Chi-square test was applied to analyze the data. The findings reveal promotion as a crucial element for awareness creation and show a clear linkage between awareness and the potential of Medical Tourism. The paper presents healthcare practitioners and tour operators with an insight into Medical Tourism in developing cities like Mangalore and the effective strategies imperative to excel in this sector. This study evaluates if developing cities of India have the potential to be promoted as Medical Tourism hubs reaping benefits to the economy of India

    The Covid-19 pandemic affected the tourism industry’s supply chain and reflected its performance and financial market. This paper aims to evaluate the performance of selected tourism-related companies listed in the Indian stock market. This study evaluates the performance of companies share prices and their business performance in post covid perspective. No studies have been conducted before on the performance evaluation of tourism-related companies listed in the Indian Stock Market from a post covid perspective. Fundamental data analysis for the reports from 2018 to 2022 and the share price charts from 2019 to 2022 was undertaken by twenty-five companies in four categorised sectors: Travel Agencies, hotels and resorts, Airlines, and Amusement parks. This study unveils that companies are underperforming in post covid and at the same time, they performed well in the share market after a negative correction due to covid-19. Airline companies are the most affected and least performed in the stock market by their share price growth. The study result helps investors and people interested in the share market assess the influence of a pandemic situation and to help in decision-making related to investment in the tourism and hospitality industry. &nbsp

Unstructured data, which is deemed useless, has increased due to the issue of information overload in every industry, including business, healthcare, education, etc. In this context, natural language processing (NLP) is one of the efficient technologies that may be used with more sophisticated technologies, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, and deep learning, to enhance the interpretation and processing of natural language. In addition to improving human-computer interaction, this can also enable massive amounts of useless and unstructured data to be analyzed and formatted in numerous industrial applications. This will produce significant results that can improve decision-making and hence increase operational effectiveness.     Assessing the Impact of Destination Image in the Selection of a Destination: Mediating Role of e-WOM

    The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between destination image, e-WOM, and destination selection. In addition, this study intends to examine the role of e-WOM as a mediator in the relationship between destination image and destination choice. On the basis of earlier research, a pilot study was conducted to establish the instrument's validity and reliability.A descriptive research design and a positivist approach were applied to the present investigation. A sample of 380 valid questionnaires was analyzed for the present study. To obtain data from travellers who visited Kashmir Valley, the convenience sample technique was used. SPSS.20 and AMOS software were utilised for data analysis. Using AMOS software and the Structured Equation Modelling (SEM) methodology, the stated assumptions were tested. The analysis indicated that the image of a destination has a significant impact on tourist destination selection. In addition, the results demonstrated that e-WOM mediates the relationship between destination image and destination choice

    Removal of Corafix Yellow GD3R using Halimeda macroloba and its impact on Macrotyloma uniflorum

    Synthetic aromatic chemicals known as dyes are primarily employed in the textile industry and are fatal if released into aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems without proper treatment. The present study characterizes the biosorption efficiency of Halimeda macroloba for the removal of Corafix Yellow GD3R dye from the aqueous solutions. At different concentrations of dye (100-500mg/L), biosorbent dose (100-500mg/L), pH (4-10), temperature (20°C - 40°C) and incubation period (24-120hrs), the ability of seaweed to remove the Corafix Yellow GD3R dye was evaluated. Maximum removal of Corafix Yellow GD3R (84%) was observed at pH 8 in the medium amended with 200 mg/L of dye, treated with 300 mg/L of biosorbent at 25°C. Desorption using 0.1N NaOH revealed a 60% of recovery on the first day. The adsorbate – adsorbent interactions were established using UV-Vis and FT-IR studies. The detoxified nature of the treated dye solution was verified by the significant growth of Macrotyloma uniflorum (Horse gram). H. macroloba, under optimal conditions effectively removed the dye and may be used in the removal of pollutants from textile industrial effluents, providing a clean and green eco-friendly approach to society.
