“Time Never Worked That Way:” Toni Morrison’s Disruption of Historical Chronology in Beloved
No full textThis article reads Toni Morrison’s Beloved (1987) as a form, intervention and expansion of Black temporality. Rather than retelling history in linear time, Morrison uses a recursive, ghosted narrative that deconstructs the divide between past and present. Drawing on Tao Leigh Goffe\u27s concept of “maroon time,” the novel is here read as a refusal of Enlightenment chrononormativity as well as racial capitalism\u27s demand for closure, progress, and resolution. With Morrison\u27s free indirect discourse, fractured pace, and spectrality, Beloved inscribes time as trauma, survival, and resistance. The novel re-writes the Black womb as a site not of reproduction but of temporal disjunction, its form possessing a fugitive beat that shatters Western historiography. Morrison extends the grammar of Black narration by architecting a temporality which is incomplete, relational, and speculative, rendering the novel an ethical and political site of refusal

This paper focuses on the Nazi conception of citizenship in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, revealing the contradictions between ideology and the practical possibilities of nationality policy. The Nazis aimed to capture not only the indigenous German minority but also the so-called “national middle layer” in linguistically mixed areas. It often happened that opportunists or collaborators sought German citizenship, while people of German or mixed origin had reservations about joining the Volksgemeinschaft. The study analyses the chaos associated with granting German citizenship until 1941, when it was decided to subject applicants to racial assessment according to SS criteria. Granting German citizenship became a tool of the Germanisation policy, with racial criteria also being applied to mixed marriages. The research reveals the pseudoscientific nature of Nazi racial policy. The study brings new insights into the practical application of Nazi racial policy in the context of the occupation of the Czech lands and performs a critical evaluation of its impact on the fates of specific individuals

Ten zabezpečuje bezpečnú prepravu guľatiny vrátane reziva bez toho, aby došlo ku poškodeniu jeho hrán pri preprave.The article discusses the stanchion system of platform wagons. It contains an overview of standardized solutions, which is supplemented by specific solutions known from operation. The article does not aim to provide a detailed overview of all solutions. The main emphasis is placed on the design solution and optimization of the stanchion system on the Snps wagon. It ensures the safe transport of logs, including sawn timber without damaging its edges during transport

No full textOd roku 2022 vstoupila společnost CZ LOKO, a.s. na Švédský trh dodáním nové lokomotivy z produktové řady 744.1 / Effishunter 1000. Během této doby a po nových zkušenostech se specifiky železničního provozu v severských podmínkách ve Švédsku byly provedeny nutné modifikace a opatření. Veškeré modifikace v souladu s TSI a národními požadavky byly testovány na prototypu, a následně certifikovány pro sériovou výrobu.Since 2022, CZ LOKO, a.s. has entered the Swedish market by delivering a new locomotive from the 744.1 / Effishunter 1000 product line. During this time and after new experiences with the specifics of railway operation in Nordic conditions in Sweden, necessary modifications and measures have been made. All modifications in accordance with TSI and national requirements have been tested on a prototype and certified for series production

No full textPříspěvek popisuje první provozní koncept elektrických jednotek s trakčními bateriemi v ČR po jejich uvedení do zkušebního provozu, stejně jako přípravy k provozu dalších jednotek z již objednané série do Moravskoslezského kraje. Dále uvádí změny a režimová opatření v místě údržby pro zajištění bezpečnosti a spolehlivosti vozidel vybavených bateriemi. V další části se příspěvek věnuje potřebám údržby pojezdů elektrických jednotek, provozovaných nově i na regionálních tratích s velmi malými poloměry oblouků. Pro zmírnění účinku tratě na dvojkolí jsou nebo budou přijata různá opatření jak v údržbě vozidel, tak u správce infrastruktury. Z pohledu nákladů na životní cyklus je zásadní životnost baterií. Pro její prodloužení je nutné dosáhnout optimálního režimu nabíjení a vybíjení vzhledem k požadavkům na optimální provoz vozidel. To je jistou výzvou pro změny v procesu sběru dat o provozu jednotek a aktuální úrovni nabití. Článek popisuje současný stav a navrhuje změny diagnostického systému pro možnou optimalizaci.The paper describes the initial operational concept of electric multiple units with traction batteries in the Czech Republic following their introduction into trial operation as well as preparations for the deployment of additional units from the already ordered series for the Moravian-Silesian Region. Furthermore, it outlines the changes and operational measures implemented at the maintenance site to ensure the safety and reliability of battery-equipped vehicles. The next part of the paper focuses on the maintenance requirements of the running gear of electric units, which are now also operated on regional lines with very small curve radii. To mitigate the effect of track geometry on the wheelsets, various measures are or will be implemented by vehicle maintenance and by the infrastructure manager

The paper deals with the use of the VRUT (Virtual Reality Universal Toolkit, developed by Škoda Auto a.s.) system in teaching of rolling stock at the faculty. These are defined thermal spraying methods of application and use. For specific applications are the experience with use of the thermal spraying on the components of rail vehicles. At the end is a summary of the suitability of the use of thermal spraying for specific applications

No full textPříspěvek se zabývá praktickým použitím zjednodušených dvouhmotových a tříhmotových tlumených dynamických modelů v optimalizaci návrhu vypružení kolejového vozidla. Text navazuje na předchozí příspěvek přednesený na XXVI. mezinárodní konferenci PRORAIL 2023 v Žilině.
Příspěvek se zabývá simulací jízdy dvouhmotového a tříhmotového tlumeného modelu na reálných nerovnostech s vyhodnocením různých ukazatelů známek komfortu na skříni a optimalizací charakteristik tuhosti i tlumení v sekundárním vypružení. V příspěvku jsou vyčísleny následující známky komfortu: standardní metoda středního pohodlí NMV, úplná metoda středního pohodlí NVD a trvalé pohodlí Ccz dle EN 12299. Na závěr příspěvek uvádí srovnání výsledků optimalizací hodnot tuhostí i tlumení sekundárního vypružení pro jednotlivé známky komfortu a pro různé nerovnosti trati i rychlosti jízdy.The paper deals with the practical use of simplified 2-mass and 3-mass damped dynamic models in the optimization of suspension design of a rail vehicle. The text follows previous paper presented at the XXVI. International Conference PRORAIL 2023 in Žilina.
The paper deals with the simulation of the travel of a 2-mass and 3-mass damped model on real measured track irregularities with the evaluation of various indicators of comfort on the carbody and the optimization of stiffness and damping characteristics in the secondary suspension. The paper calculates the following comfort indexes: the standard method of mean comfort NMV, the complete method of mean comfort NVD and the permanent comfort CCz according to EN 12299. Finally, paper presents a comparison of the optimization results of the characteristics of secondary dampers for individual comfort indexes for various track irregularities and running speeds

The article will look into a history of everyday life of a nobleman in the era of the First Czechoslovak Republic. For this purpose, the figure of Count František Josef II Silva-Tarouca (1858–1936) and his family was chosen. Unlike his younger brother Arnošt Emanuel Silva-Tarouca, this nobleman did not achieve any significant political fame. His figure is remarkable in view of the variety of his private activities. Like many other members of aristocratic society, the Silva-Tarouca family had to cope with a number of changes after 1918. We can speak of him as a gifted painter, horse breeder, amateur archivist, or historian. After the end of the First World War, the family faced a number of financial difficulties, which son Egbert Silva-Tarouca decided to solve by modernising the estate. However, his investment in modernisation proved unsuccessful and led to the family’s forced departure from the chateau in Čechy pod Kosířem
