Acting on behalf of the Bohemian King: Ferdinand Ernst von Waldstein’s Journey to Westphalia (1645–1647)
No full textFerdinand Ernst von Waldstein participated within the imperial delegation at the peace negotiations in Münster and Osnabrück where together with Georg von Plettenberg he represented the interests of Ferdinand III as the King of Bohemia at the Electoral College. Although he only took part in discussions that concerned one specific disputed issue, namely the return of the electoral vote to the Count Palatine of the Rhine, his presence at the meeting represents important evidence about the relations between the Czech Lands and the Holy Roman Empire during the period prior to the readmission of the Bohemian Elector and his representatives to the Electoral College, which occurred as late as in 1708. TERRORIST ATTACKS INFLUENCE ON AIR TRANSPORT DEMAND
No full textČlánek se zabývá poptávkou po letecké dopravě v Evropě a tím, do jaké míry je poptávka ovlivnitelná, a konkrétně tedy vlivem teroristických útoků, jejichž počet se na celém světě neustále zvyšuje. Ovlivnění poptávky je zkoumáno v krátkodobém časovém horizontu od uskutečnění teroristických útoků, a to na případech letišť v Paříži a Bruselu. Pro provedení výpočtů je použita jednofaktorová analýza rozptylu (ANOVA).The paper deals with air transport demand in Europe. Possible events that might influence air transport demand are explored. Specifically the influence of terrorist attacks is examined because number of attacks is constantly increasing worldwide. Effects on demand are explored in a short-time period after the terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussel on transport demand at these airports. To verify the influence of terrorist attacks on transport demand is used the one way ANOVA statistics

No full textKalkulace logistických nákladů se stala skutečnou výzvou v oblasti logistiky a řízení dodavatelsko-odběratelského řetězce. Značná část logistických výkonů je realizována poskytovateli logistických služeb, tyto podniky hrají klíčovou roli při efektivnějším provozování vybraných průmyslových odvětví. Poskytovatelé logistických služeb si musí být vědomi hlavních provozních faktorů logistických procesů. Tyto procesy by měly být monitorovány a vyhodnocovány prostřednictvím manažerských informačních systémů. V tomto článku bude analyzováno pojetí a význam logistických nákladů a dále budou rozebrány metody kalkulací logistických nákladů u poskytovatelů logistických služeb. Článek vychází z rešerše světové literatury, především ze zdrojů databáze Web of Science.Calculation of logistics costs become a real challenge in logistics management and supply chain. A lot of the logistic performances are carried by logistics service providers; these companies play a key role in the effective operation of selected industries. Logistics service providers must be aware of the main operational factors of the logistic processes. These processes should be monitored and evaluated by management information systems. In this paper, will be analyzed the concept and importance of logistics costs and will be further discussed methods of cost calculation of logistics costs for logistics service providers. The paper is based on research of world literature especially sources from the Web of Science database

Automatický rádiový kompas (ARK) a nesmerový rádiomaják (NDB) tvoria nastraší letecký navigačný systém, ktorý sa používa dodnes. Pracuje na pomerne jednoduchom princípe radiového vysielania nesmerového signálu z pozemného vysielača (NDB) rádiovej antény a príjmu signálu na palube prostredníctvom smerovej antény.
This paper describes the consistent preview of the measuring and testing Non Directional Beacon with using flying laboratory Aerolab 1 at University of Zilina. The ADF/NDB navigation system is one of the oldest air navigation systems still in use today. It works from the most simple radio navigation concept: a ground-based radio transmitter (the NDB) sends an omnidirectional signal that an aircraft loop antenna receives

No full textObsah termínu „elektronizace“ vychází z konverze analogových dat do jejich elektronické podoby s cílem jejich dalšího zpracování. Komplexnější pojetí „digitalizace“ je pak definováno praktickou aplikací digitálních technologií v odvětvích průmyslu a služeb a v konkrétních organizacích. Elektronizace je nezbytnou podmínkou pro digitalizaci ekonomiky v rámci čtvrté průmyslové revoluce, a v její stále se více uplatňující aplikaci v supply chain managementu, a tím i v oboru námořní dopravy. Článek se zaměřuje na identifikaci a analýzu jak problematiky legalizace elektronických dokumentů v námořní přepravě, tak i na identifikaci výzev a úzkých míst, které zastávají v procesu digitalizace tohoto odvětví klíčovou roli. Tato úzká místa jsou dána implementačními překážkami a pomalou schopností na straně poskytovatelů služeb na námořně-přepravním trhu se adaptovat na nově vznikající a rychle se měnící tržní podmínky.‘Digitization’ refers to converting analogue into digital data for further processing by electronic means. The broader concept ‘digitalization’ stands for increasing applications of digital technologies by organizations, industries or societies. While the first term is an underlying condition for it, the later has gained attention as digitalization of all aspects in supply chains, including maritime shipping. The paper analyses and identifies deficits when it comes on negotiable bills of lading, despite the overal rapidly developing legal foundation enabling paperless transport documentation. The applicable transport law does not facilitate ‘digitization´. The implementation efforts of ‘digitalization’ are hindered by inherent operational risks and liability burden or actors involved who are not able to adapt to the evolving new digital economy

No full textThe study focuses on the life of writer Vlasta Javořická, her husband František Zezulka, the director of significant meat factory on the border of Bohemia and Moravia, and their youngest daughter Václava after the 25th of February 1948. A life story of this woman, so active in culture space, and of her family shows many phenomenons typical for the period of Czech history after the establishing of the totalitarian communist regime. No full textThe paper is focused on the new structure and dividing of the European airspace and its possible future benefits. This ambitious project can change and improve travelling time in air passenger transport, of course in case of realization. At maximum load in the long run can serve multiple lines, which corresponds with the expected increase of demand for air transport. Future positive effects would be reflected in air fares and shortening waiting times at airports. Whole target is to create functional and effective system enabling cost savings. Secondly, this system will be useful for the benefit of further increasing operational safety of air transport and systematic reduction of emissions from air traffic
The Island Topos: From Paradise to Prison

The island is frequently depicted as a paradise and prison in English literature and the article elaborates on the transformation of the two topoi. Prior to the depiction of the transformation, the article deals with perceptions and attitudes people have associated with islands throughout history. The core part of the article describes the process of the island transformation. It also points out the significant geographical features of islands which help to change the perception of the environment. Works by English authors such as, The Magus, Utopia, Web, Robinson Crusoe and Gulliver’s Travels are used in order to help illustrate the processes of this transformation
