No full textThis study investigates the impact of diverse learning styles on listening comprehension abilities among English education students in a university in Bandung, Indonesia. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative research design, the research involved 10 participants who underwent learning style tests, with in-depth interviews conducted on three selected participants. The findings revealed a spectrum of learning styles. Interviews provided valuable insights into the strategies employed by each learning style, such as visual learners favoring videos and seeking additional explanations online. Auditory learners preferred expert explanations and quiet study environments, while kinesthetic learners utilized movement during group discussions. Classroom observations demonstrated the effectiveness of tailored strategies, incorporating visual aids, auditory elements, and hands-on activities to create an inclusive learning space. The result underscored the significance of multimodal approaches for maximizing student engagement and comprehension. It is recommended for educators to recognize diverse learning styles, employ flexible instructional methods, and foster inclusive learning environments. Hence, the research reinforces the notion that educators should recognize the presence of various learning styles, actively adopt adaptable teaching approaches, and foster inclusive learning environments, thus optimizing student involvement and understanding.Penelitian ini menyelidiki dampak dari gaya belajar yang beragam terhadap kemampuan pemahaman menyimak di kalangan mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa Inggris di sebuah universitas di Bandung, Indonesia. Menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, penelitian ini melibatkan 10 peserta yang menjalani tes gaya belajar, dengan wawancara mendalam yang dilakukan pada tiga peserta terpilih. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan spektrum gaya belajar. Wawancara memberikan wawasan yang berharga tentang strategi yang digunakan oleh setiap gaya belajar, seperti pelajar visual yang lebih menyukai video dan mencari penjelasan tambahan secara online. Pelajar auditori lebih menyukai penjelasan ahli dan lingkungan belajar yang tenang, sementara pelajar kinestetik menggunakan gerakan selama diskusi kelompok. Pengamatan di kelas menunjukkan keefektifan strategi yang disesuaikan, dengan menggabungkan alat bantu visual, elemen pendengaran, dan kegiatan langsung untuk menciptakan ruang belajar yang inklusif. Hasilnya menggarisbawahi pentingnya pendekatan multimodal untuk memaksimalkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa. Disarankan bagi para pendidik untuk mengenali gaya belajar yang beragam, menggunakan metode instruksional yang fleksibel, dan mendorong lingkungan belajar yang inklusif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memperkuat gagasan bahwa para pendidik harus mengakui adanya berbagai gaya belajar, secara aktif mengadopsi pendekatan pengajaran yang mudah beradaptasi, dan mendorong lingkungan belajar yang inklusif, sehingga mengoptimalkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa

This research analyzes the efforts of The United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in assisting the Indian government in addressing environmental pollution issues. India has been fighting against waste pollution for decades. Pollution in India has reached alarming levels as its massive impacts have spread to various aspects of life and the environment. The Indian government has implemented several policies related to this issue, some of which have been successful, and they will continue their efforts. Additionally, local and international organizations contribute by engaging in collaborative efforts targeting communities and the environment. One of these organizations is the United Nations Environment Programme, a United Nations body focused on environmental issues. However, sustained efforts are still needed to address this problem and achieve meaningful results. The research methodology is qualitative, and the data collection method is secondary. Data is gathered from academic journals, news sources, and relevant books from valid sources. The author utilizes the theory of Neoliberal Institutionalism to analyze this research.

PENGOLAHAN DAN PENYAJIAN KUDAPAN MAKANAN SEHAT BERGIZI MOCHI UBI UNGU DI GKAI GADING SERPONG
Get PDFCommunity Service (PkM) is a means of carrying out the mission of Universitas Pelita Harapan which is to contribute to the advancement of science and culture based on Biblical Christian insights and participate in the development of individuals and society for the glory of God. PkM activities were carried out at the Indonesian Bible Christian Church on Jalan Raya Kelapa Dua, Ruko Blitz, Blok A No. 28, Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Banten. The needs analysis based on the questionnaire showed that the congregation did not fully understand how to have healthy snacks at an affordable price. The low economic condition of the congregation makes the congregation prefer to consume cheap and unhealthy food without paying attention to the health of the body. The objectives of the PkM were to 1) provide counseling on nutritious snacks, and 2) conduct training on making purple sweet potato mochi. PkM was held on September 2, 2023, attended by 20 people, delivered by lecture demonstration method. The results of PkM based on the results of the evaluation questionnaire can be seen that 77% of respondents stated that the material presented was very clear, 55.6% agreed that watching YouTube mochi making that had been given helped to practice it at home, 55.6% strongly agreed that they were interested in practicing it at home, and 44.4% of respondents strongly agreed that making purple sweet potato mochi was easy to do.

Analisis kebutuhan berdasarkan angket menunjukkan bahwa jemaat belum memahami secara utuh bagaimana kudapan sehat dengan harga yang terjangkau. Kondisi ekonomi jemaat yang rendah membuat jemaat lebih memilih mengkonsumsi makanan murah dan tidak sehat tanpa memperhatikan kesehatan tubuh. Tujuan dilaksanakannya PkM adalah untuk 1) memberikan penyuluhan tentang kudapan bergizi, serta 2) melakukan pelatihan membuat mochi ubi ungu. PkM dilaksanakan pada tanggal 2 September 2023, dihadiri oleh 20 orang, disampaikan dengan metode ceramah demonstrasi. Hasil PkM berdasarkan hasil angket evaluasi dapat diketahui bahwa 77% responden menyatakan bahwa materi yang disampaikan sangat jelas, 55,6% setuju bahwa menonton youtube pembuatan mochi yang telah diberikan membantu untuk mempraktikkannya di rumah. Sebanyak 55,6 % sangat setuju bahwa mereka tertarik untuk mempraktikkannya di rumah bahkan ada satu jemaat yang telah mempraktekkannya dan menjual di sekolah. Sebanyak 44,4% responden sangat setuju bahwa pembuatan mochi ubi ungu mudah untuk dilakukan.

Often, community participation as voters is still suboptimal and needs to be optimized. In the 2024 elections, it is necessary to conduct online voter list verification socialization in villages because rural residents often lack understanding of technology, where access to information technology in Indonesia still experiences gaps. Therefore, to increase voter participation, one effort that can be made is by creating a program "Optimizing Voter Participation Through Socialization of Online Permanent Voter List (PVT) Verification Guidelines."

Pada pemilu 2024 perlu dilakukan sosialisasi pemeriksaan DPT online di desa, karena seringkali masyarakat di desa belum begitu memahami teknologi dan masih adanya kesenjangan akses terhadap teknologi informasi di Indonesia. Untuk itu, untuk meningkatkan partisipasi pemilih dapat dilakukan upaya dengan membuat program “Optimalisasi Partisipasi Pemilih Melalui Sosialisasi Panduan Verifikasi Daftar Pemilihan Tetap (DPT) Online”.

No full textPeningkatan kualitas tata kelola pemerintahan, diukur melalui Indeks Reformasi Birokrasi, menjadi fokus utama dalam memperbaiki perekonomian daerah. Salah satu strategi yang diadopsi adalah meningkatkan Maturitas Penyelenggaraan Sistem Pengendalian Intern Pemerintah (SPIP) oleh Pemerintah Daerah. Pemerintah Kabupaten Bekasi menghadapi tantangan dalam implementasi manajemen risiko sesuai mandat Pasal 13 ayat (1) Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 60 Tahun 2008. Pemahaman komprehensif mengenai manajemen risiko diperlukan oleh perangkat daerah untuk mendukung efektivitas SPIP. Meskipun Pemerintah Kabupaten Bekasi telah mencapai Predikat Level 2 untuk Maturitas SPIP, area perbaikan utama terletak pada manajemen risiko. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, pelatihan dan sosialisasi dilakukan pada tahun 2023, namun hanya terbatas pada perangkat daerah tingkat Dinas/Badan dan belum menyentuh Kecamatan.
Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, latihan/praktik, dan prosedur kerja. Pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) berhasil di Kantor Pemerintah Kabupaten Bekasi dengan peserta dari 23 Kecamatan. PkM mencakup pre-test, pemberian materi manajemen risiko dan SPIP terintegrasi, post-test, dan pemberian sertifikat kepada peserta. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dari rata-rata nilai pre-test 3.33 menjadi post-test 5.47. Kesimpulannya, PkM ini berhasil memberikan kontribusi signifikan dengan melibatkan tim PkM UKI, Inspektorat Daerah, dan PT Klase Auto Rental (KAR) sebagai mitra pendukung.

Peningkatan Manajemen Promosi di Sekolah Swasta Melalui Workshop Integrated Marketing
Get PDFEducation helps an individual in developing their personality and social skills. The higher the level of education an individual attains, the better their potential level of well-being. The central role of schools has inspired the team to further examine the conditions of private schools in Bogor Regency, particularly in Bojonggede District. This is because private schools face significant challenges in achieving their New Student Admission (PPDB) targets compared to public schools. Public interest in enrolling their children in private schools is generally low. To address this issue, there is a need to enhance marketing management capabilities integrated with information technology. This article discusses the implementation of an integrated marketing workshop aimed at improving promotional management skills in private schools, with a case study at SMA Muhammadiyah Bojonggede. The workshop was conducted through material presentations, discussions and Q&A sessions, and hands-on practice in the form of simulations. The activity was attended by teachers. The success of the activity was measured by both outcome and process criteria. The results showed an increase in participants\u27 knowledge and skills in integrated marketing strategies.Pendidikan membantu seorang individu dalam mengembangkan kepribadian dan sosialnya. Semakin tinggi tingkat pendidikan seorang individu berpotensi akan semakin baik tingkat kesejahteraannya. Demikian sentralnya peran sekolah, menginspirasi tim untuk menilik lebih jauh kondisi sekolah-sekolah swasta di Kabupaten Bogor, khususnya di Kecamatan Bojonggede. Hal ini karena sekolah swasta memiliki tantangan signifikan dalam mencapai target Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) dibandingkan sekolah negeri. Animo masyarakat untuk memasukkan putra-putrinya ke sekolah swasta umumnya tergolong minim Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, diperlukan peningkatan kemampuan manajemen pemasaran yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi informasi. Artikel ini membahas pelaksanaan workshop integrated marketing yang ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan manajemen promosi di sekolah swasta, dengan studi kasus di SMA Muhammadiyah Bojonggede. Pelaksanaan workshop dilakukan dengan pemaparan materi, diskusi dan tanya jawab, serta praktik langsung berupa simulasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh para guru. Pelatihan Penanganan Kegawatdaruratan Tersedak Pada Anak di Desa Ledug Purwokerto
Get PDFChoking is a very dangerous emergency that often occurs in children under three years of age. Choking occurs when solid food that should pass through the digestive tract blocks the airway. Choking victims can lose consciousness, causing death. Treatment for choking in children is divided into three types, namely back blow, Heimlick maneuver and chest thrust. The aim of this Community Service is to identify the mother\u27s level of knowledge and skills in handling choking emergencies in children. The method used is the lecture and demonstration method. There were 32 participants who attended and took part in the activity. The activity was carried out at RT.01/RW.05 Ledug Village, Purwokerto on Thursday, June 6 2024. The media used were powerpoint, leaflets and videos. Community Service Results showed that 19 participants (59.4%) had sufficient knowledge before the education was provided and after the education was provided, 29 participants (90.6%) were in the good category. The skill level before being given education and demonstration was that all participants were unskilled, 32 participants (100.0%), whereas after being given education and demonstration, 21 participants (65.6%) had skilled skills and 11 participants (34.4%) had less skilled skills. From the results of community service it can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge and skills.Tersedak adalah keadaan darurat yang sangat berbahaya yang sering terjadi pada anak-anak di bawah usia tiga tahun. Tersedak terjadi ketika makanan padat yang seharusnya melewati saluran pencernaan menghalangi jalan napas. Korban tersedak dapat kehilangan kesadaran hingga menyebabkan kematian. Penanganan tersedak pada anak terbagi menjadi tiga macam, yaitu meliputi back blow, heimlick maneuver dan chest thrust. Tujuan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat pengetahuan dan keterampilan ibu terhadap penanganan kegawatdaruratan tersedak pada anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Peserta yang hadir dan mengikuti kegiatan berjumlah 32 orang. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di RT.01/RW.05 Desa Ledug Purwokerto pada Kamis, 06 Juni 2024. Media yang digunakan yaitu powerpoint, leaflet dan video. Hasil Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat didapatkan tingkat pengetahuan sebelum dilakukan edukasi sebanyak 19 peserta (59.4%) mempunyai pengetahuan cukup dan setelah diberikan edukasi sebanyak 29 peserta (90.6%) dalam kategori baik. Tingkat keterampilan sebelum diberikan edukasi dan demonstrasi semua peserta tidak terampil sebanyak 32 peserta (100.0%), sedangkan setelah diberikan edukasi dan demonstrasi sebanyak 21 peserta (65.6%) mempunyai keterampilan yang terampil dan 11 peserta (34.4%) mempunyai keterampilan kurang terampil. No full textThe purpose of this service is to assist the youth community, with the many benefits obtained from Kombucha Tea, it is hoped that this will become a typical Garut souvenir that can be of interest to the wider community, as well as an alternative drink to treat various health problems in the community, so that this will open up new jobs for the community. The implementation of this activity was carried out at the Majlis Taklim ar-Rahman in Sukaresmi Garut with 30 participants. The method used in this service is Participatory Action Research (PAR), which means that the community service actors directly experience the assistance of making kombucha tea in the field with the community. There are four basic themes in PAR, namely collaboration through participation, gaining knowledge, and social change. The results of this kombucha tea making assistance are making tea from available kombucha seeds, then conducting training from a certified kombucha expert and mentoring in making kombucha tea as well as packaging training and business strategies to market the products that have been produced.Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah pendampingan terhadap komunitas pemuda-pemudi, dengan banyaknya manfaat yang ddapatkan dari Teh Kombucha di harapkan ini akan menjadi oleh-oleh khas garut yang dapat di minati oleh masyarakat banyak, juga sebagai minuman alternative untuk mengobati beragam gangguan kesehatan dimasyarakat, sehingga hal ini akan membuka lapangan kerja baru bagi masyarakat. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Majlis Taklim ar-Rahman di Sukaresmi Garut dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 30 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yaitu memiliki arti pelaku pengabdian masyarakat merasakan langsung pendampingan pembuatan teh kombucha dilapangan dengan masyarakat. Ada empat tema dasar dalam PAR, yaitu kolaborasi melalui partisipasi, mendapat pengetahuan, dan perubahan sosial. Hasil dari pendampingan pembuatan teh kombucha ini pembuatan teh dari bibit kombucha yang sudah tersedia, kemudian melakukan pelatihan dari seorang ahli kombucha yang memiliki sertifikat dan dilakukan pendampingan pembuatan teh kombucha serta pelatihan pengemasan dan strategi usaha untuk memasarkan produk yang telah dihasilkan
THE USE OF FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE AND IMAGERY IN SONGS’ LYRICS
Get PDFIn literary works, most authors express their feelings by using figurative language in their writing. The languages used in literary works usually represent the explicit and implicit feelings and thoughts of their characters. Someone may use figurative language to create unique and aesthetic communication. This study aims to find out the use of figurative language and imagery found in the two songs from Bruno Mars’ album entitled "Talking to the Moon” and “It Will Rain”. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This research showed that figurative language and imagery found in Bruno Mars’ selected song lyrics represented the author’s feelings and expressions delivered indirectly. Based on research findings, the writer found some figurative language in Bruno Mars’ selected songs. The most figurative language used in the lyrics of Bruno Mars’ selected songs is “Hyperbole”. This is usually used to emphasize human expression. The writer used hyperbole to make the lyrics more interesting to the listeners. In conclusion, these two songs use many kinds of figurative language and imagery. In literature, a writer uses figurative language as a tool to express and emphasize the elements of feeling, emotion, and experiences of human beings. By using figurative language and imagery, the reader can understand and imagine the aim of the writer
INSTRUMENTALITY OF WOMEN IN DAMSEL MOVIE (2024)
Get PDFIn the film Damsel (2024), directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the traditional damsel in distress narrative is subverted by the character of Princess Elodie, who transforms from a passive pawn to an empowered individual. The film critiques societal structures that objectify women by exploring Elodie’s journey from being a tool in an arranged marriage and a sacrificial victim to confronting a dragon. This study aims to explore how the film portrays the instrumentalization of Elodie through qualitative descriptive methods, grounded in Nussbaum\u27s theory of objectification, particularly the concept of instrumentality. As the result, the study identifies three forms of Elodie\u27s instrumentalization: subjected to an arranged marriage, subjected to a life sacrifice, and subjected to a target for revenge. From these three forms of Elodie\u27s instrumentalization, this film shows Elodie\u27s gradual assertion of autonomy and rejection of the roles assigned to her, deconstructing conventional girl tropes and highlighting the broader implications of challenging patriarchal norms. The finding of the instrumentalization of Elodie in the film Damsel is shown to become more complex along with the resistance carried out to oppose the prevailing patriarchal norms.
