    Get PDF
Learning in the 21st century requires lecturers to be more creative in finding learning models that can be carried out by students with online learning limitations. Appropriate learning is through a daily activity based learning model combined with 7 contextual teaching and learning standards. The research method in this study uses the classroom action research method. The data analysis technique will use SPSS with the T test. The research results show that Daily activity based learning (DABL) can improve critical thinking skills based on the posttest in each cycle. Student scores increased from pretest to posttest cycle I, and from posttest cycle I to posttest cycle II. This is proven by the average pretest score for cycle I increasing from 62.76 to 74.21. Then the post-test value from cycle I to post-test cycle II also increased from 74.21 to 80.26. After the T test with SPSS, the increase in value shows a significant difference because the T test value is <0.05, which shows that there is a real difference between the results of the pretest, posttest I and posttest II. Daily activity-based learning (DABL) can improve critical thinking skills based on posttests in each cycle because there is a combination of learning steps which include modeling, learning communities, constructivism, inquiry, questioning, reflection and authentic assessment. Learning with the Daily Activity Based Learning model is related to the achievement of SDGs no 4 Quality education which requires students to have critical thinking skills to carry out sustainable development actions

    No full text
One of the supporting factors for the success of the teaching and learning process is the content delivered by the teacher. Regarding this content, teachers need guidance through textbooks. Therefore, this research is necessary to determine the quality of textbooks in order to support the learning process and help enhance higher-order thinking skills, one of which is critical thinking. This study aims to analyze the content of the Environmental Education textbook used by junior high school students and teachers in South Tangerang City. This research employs a descriptive analysis method. The textbook content is analyzed using the cognitive development model by Beck, McKeown, and Kucan, which has been modified into five analytical steps. The results show that the Environmental Education textbook contains many activities that can help students improve their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Referring to the cognitive development criteria by Beck and McKeown, the textbook can be categorized as excellent, as it does not merely present data and facts to be memorized, but provides meaningful learning content. This condition is expected to improve junior high school students’ thinking and problem-solving abilities, particularly concerning Environmental Education issues

The objective of this research is to gain an understanding of the effectiveness of the outing class method before and after its implementation in enhancing student engagement in IPAS (Integrated Natural and Social Sciences) learning among fifth-grade students at SDN Inpres Tanjung Baru. The study involved a total of 18 fifth-grade students as research subjects. This study utilized a quantitative method through a quasi-experimental design method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality distribution tests, and hypothesis testing using a paired T-Test. Descriptive analysis indicated an increase in the average score from 65.94 (pretest) to 119.22 (posttest). The normality test using the Kolmogorov–Smirnov method produced a significance value of 0.200 (p > 0.05) for both pretest and posttest data, supported by the Shapiro–Wilk test, which yielded significance values of 0.671 (p > 0.05) for the pretest and 0.743 (p > 0.05) for the posttest. Furthermore, the hypothesis test using the Paired Sample T-Test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), Showing a meaningful statistical difference between the pretest and posttest results. Therefore, it can be concluded that the outing class method has a significant impact on improving student engagement in IPAS learning.

Uji Aktivitas Antibakteri Ekstrak Etanol 96% Daun Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff.) Boerl.) terhadap Bakteri Staphylococcus epidermidis

Acne is a skin problem that occurs due to inflammation of the polysebaceous follicles. One of the bacterial causes of acne infection is Staphylococcus epidermidis, which is found on human skin and mucous membranes. Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff.) Boerl.) is a native plant from Papua, Indonesia. Mahkota dewa leaves contain active compounds, including alkaloids, saponins, and tannins, which function as antibacterials. The objective of this research was to determine the antibacterial activity of 96% ethanol extract of Mahkota Dewa leaves against Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria using the disc diffusion method and to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The extract yielded 23.285% and contained secondary metabolite compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenols, steroids, and quinones. The results of the antibacterial activities were 8.98 mm, 10.24 mm, and 13.14 mm at extract concentrations of 100,000 ppm, 250,000 ppm, and 500,000 ppm, respectively. Concentrations of 100,000 ppm and 250,000 ppm indicate a moderate inhibition zone, while a concentration of 500,000 ppm indicates a strong inhibition zone against the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria. The MIC of 96% ethanol extract of Mahkota Dewa leaves was at a concentration of 6,250 ppm with an IR% of 8.314%.Acne is a skin problem that occurs due to inflammation of the polysebaceous follicles.
