    FISHERIES PRODUCT SPOILED MONITORING USING SMART PACKAGING CONTAIN ANTHOCYANIN: A REVIEW

    Smart packaging is currently demanded to monitor the spoilage level of packaged products, for instance fishery products, characterized as perishable food. Smart packaging requires a halochromic substance, for instance, natural pigments extracted from fruits or flower. The natural pigment extracted from the plant should have a halochromic ability for example anthocyanins compound. Anthocyanin compounds are incorporated to edible film to produce smart film. The smart film has the ability to screen the quality and to monitor freshness of fishery products by demonstrating color changes from purple or blue to green and then yellow color after being exposed to spoiled conditions. The color changes are induced by changes of pH and TVB-N production in deteriorated of packaged fishery products. Moreover, smart packaging is able to provide real-time information to consumers regarding product freshness, thus enhancing the safety and maintaining the quality of food products. In addition, the advantages of a smart packaging system include simple and inexpensive production, providing "best before" information, and potentially reducing unnecessary food wastePengemasan cerdas saat ini dituntut untuk memantau kesegaran produk yang dikemas seperti produk perikanan yang bercirikan sebagai pangan yang mudah rusak. Kemasan cerdas memerlukan zat halokromik, misalnya pigmen alami yang diekstraksi dari buah atau bunga. Pigmen alami yang diekstrak dari tumbuhan harus mempunyai kemampuan halokromik misalnya senyawa antosianin. Senyawa antosianin ditambahkan ke dalam film yang dapat dimakan (edible film) untuk menghasilkan film pintar (smart film). Smart film ini mempunyai kemampuan untuk memantau kualitas dan kesegaran produk perikanan dengan menunjukkan perubahan warna dari ungu atau biru menjadi hijau dan kemudian menjadi kuning setelah terkena kondisi pangan yg rusak. Perubahan warna tersebut disebabkan oleh perubahan pH dan produksi TVB-N pada produk perikanan kemasan yang telah rusak. Selain itu, smart packaging mampu memberikan informasi real-time kepada konsumen mengenai kesegaran produk, sehingga meningkatkan keamanan dan kualitas produk pangan.     ANALYSIS OF MICROPLASTIC CONTAMINATION ON WATER AND SEDIMENT IN THE BRANTAS SUBWATERSHED OF THE MALANG AREA

    Microplastics are non-degradable contaminants that have been found in many river waters. Microplastics not only pollute water bodies but also become pollutants in river sediments. The Malang area is one of the areas passed by the Brantas River, which is the longest river in East Java and plays an important role for the community. The Brantas River has experienced a decline in water quality related to microplastic contamination. This study aims to analyze the types of microplastics and the abundance of microplastics found in water and sediment in the Brantas Subwatershed Malang Region. This study used a survey method and determined the sampling location point by purposive sampling. Microplastics found in water and sediment samples have the same 3 types, namely fragments, fibers and films. The fragment type was found to dominate in water samples by 38.62% and also in sediment samples by 76.13%. The abundance of microplastics in water was highest at Station 5 at 686.67 particles/m3 and lowest at Station 1 at 396.67 particles/m3. While the abundance of microplastics in the sediment was highest at Station 3 at 2,517.15 particles/kg and lowest at Station 2 at 1,779.93 particles/kg.Mikroplastik merupakan kontaminan yang sulit terurai yang telah banyak ditemukan di perairan sungai. Mikroplastik tidak hanya mencemari badan air tetapi juga menjadi polutan di dalam sedimen sungai. Wilayah Malang Raya merupakan salah satu wilayah yang dilewati oleh Sungai Brantas yang merupakan sungai terpanjang di Jawa Timur dan berperan penting bagi masyarakat. Sungai Brantas telah mengalami penurunan kualitas air terkait dengan cemaran mikroplastik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa jenis mikropastik dan kelimpahan mikroplastik yang ditemukan pada air dan sedimen di Sub DAS Brantas Wilayah Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dan penentuan titik lokasi pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Mikroplastik yang ditemukan pada sampel air dan sedimen memiliki 3 jenis yang sama yaitu fragmen, fiber dan film. Jenis fragmen ditemukan mendominasi pada sampel air sebesar 38,62% dan juga pada sampel sedimen sebesar 76,13%. Kelimpahan mikroplastik di air tertinggi pada Stasiun 5 sebesar 686,67 partikel/m3 dan terendah pada Stasiun 1 sebesar 396,67 partikel/m3. Sedangkan kelimpahan mikroplastik di sedimen tertinggi pada Stasiun 3 sebesar 2.517,15 partikel/kg dan terendah pada Stasiun 2 sebesar 1.779,93 partikel/kg

    One of the potentials of the marine and fisheries sector that can be explored is salt. Salt is a basic need and daily consumption of the Indonesian people. The purpose of this study was to determine the Level of Income of Salt Farmers and Salt Marketing Margins in Siduwonge Village, Randangan District, Pohuwato Regency. This study is useful for providing information or knowledge that can be used as a reference for the Level of Income of Salt Farmers and Salt Marketing Margins. The study was conducted on July 20, 2020 - August 20, 2020 in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province. The location of the data collection activity was carried out in Siduwongi Village, Randangan District, Pohuwato Regency. The method used in collecting data in field work practices is the survey method. Based on the results of the study in Siduwonge Village, Randangan District, Pohuwato Regency, it can be concluded that the level of net income of salt farmers in each group, namely, Karya Baru Rp. 4,348,000, Surya Motilango Rp. 3,529,000, Bintang Poliyama Rp. 3,172,000, Pelangi Rp. 2,420,000, Anggrek Rp. 2,162,600, Bintang Segiri Rp. 2,118,500, and Beringin Rp. 1,867,000. The average feasibility of the salt farmer business in Siduwomge Village is very feasible because the R/C in each group is more than 1Potensi dari sektor kelautan dan perikanan yang dapat digali salah satunya adalah garam. Garam merupakan kebutuhan pokok dan konsumsi sehari-hari masyarakat Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana Tingkat Pendapatan Petani Garam dan Margin Pemasaran Garam di Desa Siduwonge, Kecamatan Randangan, Kabupaten Pohuwato. Penelitian ini bermanfaat untuk memberikan informasi ataupun pengetahuan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai suatu referensi bagaimana Tingkat Pendapatan Petani Garam dan Margin Pemasaran Garam. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal 20 Juli 2020 – 20 Agustus  2020 Di Kabupaten Pohuwato, Provinsi Gorontalo. Lokasi kegiatan pengambilan data dilaksanakan di Desa Siduwongi Kecamatan Randangan Kabupaten Pohuwato. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data pada  praktek kerja lapangan yaitu metode survei.     Permasalahan yang ada pada budidaya ikan gabus pada media budikdamber adalah jumlah padat tebar yang paling efektif dan bagaimana pengaruh sistem budikdamber pada pertumbuhan dan sintasan benih ikan gabus, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan padat tebar yang efektif ikan gabus pada metode budikdamber. Metode yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Lengkap langkap (RAL), yang terdiri dari tiga perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah (A) padat tebar 50 ekor/70 liter (kontrol), (B) padat tebar 60 ekor/70 liter, dan (C) padat tebar 70 ekor/70 liter, yang dipelihara selama 40 hari. Ikan uji yang digunakan merupakan ikan gabus dengan ukuran panjang 6-8 cm dan bobot 3-4 g. Wadah yang digunakan merupakan ember plastik dengan volume 80 liter dengan volume air sebesar 70 liter yang dimana ikan gabus ditempatkan dengan padat tebar sesuai dengan perlakuan. Jumah pakan yang diberikan sebanyak 5% dari biomassa ikan. Hasil yang didapatkan selama penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan C dengan padat tebar sebesar 70 ekor/70 liter menghasilkan pertumbuhan panjang mutlak tertinggi sebesar 2,56±0,5 cm, pertumbuhan bobot mutlak tertinggi sebesar 4,55±0,99 gram, laju pertumbuhan spesifik tertinggi sebesar 2,08±0,09 %, dan kelangsungan hidup sebesar 94±0,05%The problem in cultivating snakehead fish in budikdamber media is the most effective stocking density and how the budikdamber system affects the growth and survival of snakehead fish seeds, this study aims to determine the effective stocking density of snakehead fish in the budikdamber method. The method used in this study is the experimental method of Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of three treatments and five replications. The treatments used are (A) stocking density of 50 fish/70 liter (control), (B) stocking density of 60 fish/70 liter, and (C) stocking density of 70 fish/70 liter, which are maintained for 40 days. The test fish used are snakehead fish with a length of 6-8 cm and a weight of 3-4 g. The container used is a plastic bucket with a volume of 80 liters with the water volume of 70 liters where the snakehead fish are placed with a stocking density according to the treatment. The amount of feed given is 5% of the fish biomass. The results obtained during the study showed that treatment C with a density of 70 fish/70 liters produced the highest absolute length growth of 2,56±0,5 cm, the highest absolute weight growth of 4,55±0,99 gram, the highest specific growth rate of 2,08±0,09 %, and survival of 94±0,05

    THE EFFECT OF LONG STORAGE ON MANGROVE (Sonneratia caseolarisi) FRUIT SLICE JAM ON TOTAL PLATE COUNT (TPC) VALUE AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY

    The mangrove apple (Sonneratia caseolarisi) has potential as an alternative food source due to its high nutritional and antioxidant content. This study aims to analyze the effect of storage duration on mangrove apple-based fruit slices' microbiological and chemical quality by adding rosella extract, focusing on Total Plate Count (TPC) value, antioxidant activity, and proximate analysis. The slices were made by adding 50% rosella extract based on the weight of the fruit pulp and were tested during storage at 0, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days. The research methods included TPC testing to count microorganisms, antioxidant activity testing using the DPPH method, and proximate analysis to determine moisture, fat, protein, ash, and carbohydrate content. The results showed that TPC values increased significantly with longer storage time, with the highest increase in the fourth week. Antioxidant activity also decreased over time, indicating the degradation of antioxidant compounds due to oxidation. Proximate testing revealed increased moisture and fat content, while protein, ash, and carbohydrate levels decreased as storage duration increased.Buah pedada (Sonneratia caseolarisi) memiliki potensi sebagai sumber pangan alternatif dengan kandungan nutrisi dan antioksidan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh lama penyimpanan terhadap kualitas mikrobiologis dan kimiawi selai lembaran berbasis buah pedada dengan penambahan ekstrak rosella yang fokus pada nilai Total Plate Count (TPC), aktivitas antioksidan, dan analisis proksimat. Selai dibuat dengan penambahan ekstrak rosella sebesar 50% dari berat bubur buah dan diuji selama penyimpanan 0, 7, 14, 21, dan 28 hari. Metode penelitian mencakup uji TPC untuk menghitung jumlah mikroorganisme, uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH, dan uji proksimat untuk menentukan kadar air, lemak, protein, abu, dan karbohidrat. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa nilai TPC meningkat secara signifikan seiring dengan lamanya penyimpanan, dengan peningkatan tertinggi pada minggu ke-4. Aktivitas antioksidan juga menurun seiring waktu penyimpanan yang menunjukkan degradasi senyawa antioksidan akibat oksidasi. Uji proksimat menunjukkan peningkatan kadar air dan lemak, sementara kadar protein, abu, dan karbohidrat menurun seiring lamanya penyimpanan

    STUDY ON THE UTILIZATION OF NUSANTARA FISHERY PORT (PPN) KEJAWANAN CIREBON

    The Nusantara Fisheries Port (PPN) Kejawanan in Cirebon City is an important infrastructure that supports the fisheries sector in the northern coastal region of West Java. As a distribution center for fish catches and a driver of the capture fisheries economy, this port is regulated by various regulations, including Law Number 45 of 2009 and Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Number 8 of 2012, which requires the existence of basic, functional, and supporting facilities. This study aims to evaluate the level of facility utilization in PPN Kejawanan using a descriptive method by collecting primary data through observation and interviews, as well as secondary data from port managers. The results of the study show that the PPN Kejawanan has fulfilled 19 of the 22 required facilities, or around 86%, with most of the facilities functioning optimally. However, there are several facilities that are not yet available, such as jetty piers and fishermen's guesthouses. These results indicate the need to increase the utilization of facilities to ensure better port services and support the economic growth of the fisheries sector in PPN Kejawanan.Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara (PPN) Kejawanan di Kota Cirebon adalah infrastruktur penting yang mendukung sektor perikanan di wilayah pantai utara Jawa Barat. Sebagai pusat distribusi hasil tangkapan ikan dan pendorong ekonomi perikanan tangkap, pelabuhan ini diatur oleh berbagai regulasi, termasuk Undang-Undang Nomor 45 Tahun 2009 dan Peraturan Menteri Kelautan dan Perikanan Nomor 8 Tahun 2012, yang mensyaratkan adanya fasilitas pokok, fungsional, dan penunjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat pemanfaatan fasilitas di PPN Kejawanan menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data primer melalui observasi dan wawancara, serta data sekunder dari pengelola pelabuhan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PPN Kejawanan telah memenuhi 19 dari 22 fasilitas yang diwajibkan, atau sekitar 86%, dengan sebagian besar fasilitas berfungsi optimal. Namun, terdapat beberapa fasilitas yang belum tersedia, seperti dermaga jetty dan wisma nelayan. Hasil ini mengindikasikan perlunya peningkatan pemanfaatan fasilitas untuk memastikan pelayanan pelabuhan yang lebih baik dan mendukung pertumbuhan ekonomi sektor perikanan di wilayah PPN Kejawanan

    THE INFLUENCE OF MARKETING MIX ON PURCHASING DECISIONS FOR GROUND MACKEREL AT UMKM EVI TENGGIRI

    Bengkulu City has abundant fishery resources, with total fishery yields reaching 32,757 tons. UMKM play an important role in local economic growth, one of which is Evi Tenggiri UMKM, which focuses on ground fish products. Problems in UMKM, such as the unknown influence of marketing to support the success of UMKM. This study aims to analyze the effect of the 4P marketing mix on purchasing decisions for ground mackerel at Evi Tenggiri UMKM. The research location was chosen purposively. Data was obtained from consumers who had bought ground mackerel, with a total sample of 96 respondents determined using the Lemeshow technique. The analysis was carried out descriptively quantitatively with multiple linear regression to measure the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. In addition, classical assumption tests such as normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and hypothesis testing were carried out to ensure the validity of the model. The F test results obtained that the product, price, place, and promotion variables simultaneously affect purchasing decisions. The t test results for product and price variables show an influence on purchasing decisions.     IDENTIFICATION OF THE TEMPORAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THERMAL FRONT INTENSITY AND SKIPJACK FISHERIES PRODUCTION LANDED AT PPN TERNATE

    The convergence of two oceans in Indonesian waters results in complex oceanographic dynamics, including the formation of thermal fronts. Thermal front areas are rich in nutrients, making them valuable for predicting potential fishing grounds. This study aims to identify the relationship between thermal fronts and skipjack tuna fisheries production landed at PPN Ternate, in order to assess whether thermal front data can be used to predict skipjack tuna fishing grounds in the area. The data utilized consists of fisheries production records and sea surface temperature images obtained from the Terra MODIS satellite. The images were processed using the Single Image Edge Detection (SIED) algorithm to map thermal front areas and measure their intensity. The relationship between thermal front intensity and skipjack tuna production was analyzed using Pearson correlation. The results show that thermal front areas are dynamically distributed around PPN Ternate every month, with increased intensity observed in February-March, July-October, and December.     Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Kulit Jengkol pada Pakan Terhadap Profil Darah Ikan Patin Siam (Pangasius hypophthalmus)

    Pathogenic bacteria are one of the main challenges in the cultivation of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus because they can cause organ damage and even death. The utilisation of natural ingredients such as Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract is one alternative to improve fish health in an environmentally friendly manner. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract in feed on haematological parameters of Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. A total of 160 test fish were divided into four treatments with extract doses of 0% (control), 0.01%, 0.02%, and 0.03%, for 21 days. Parameters observed included total erythrocytes, haemoglobin levels, and haematocrit values. The results showed that Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract significantly increased haemoglobin levels and haematocrit values (P<0.05), especially at the 0.03% dose, compared to the control. Total erythrocytes showed a decrease on day 21 in all extract treatments, presumably due to the content of bioactive compounds (tannins, flavonoids, and saponins) in high doses. Bioactive compounds in Archidendron pauciflorum peel extract such as flavonoids, saponins, and tannins are known to play a role in improving haematological parameters, but their use needs to pay attention to the appropriate dose so as not to cause negative effects.    Bakteri patogen merupakan salah satu tantangan utama dalam budidaya ikan patin siam (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) karena dapat menyebabkan kerusakan organ hingga kematian. Pemanfaatan bahan alami seperti ekstrak kulit jengkol (Archidendron pauciflorum) merupakan salah satu alternatif untuk meningkatkan kesehatan ikan secara ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penambahan ekstrak kulit jengkol dalam pakan terhadap parameter hematologi ikan patin siam. Sebanyak 160 ekor ikan uji dibagi ke dalam empat perlakuan dengan dosis ekstrak 0% (kontrol), 0,01%, 0,02%, dan 0,03%, selama 21 hari. Parameter yang diamati meliputi total eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai hematokrit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak kulit jengkol meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin dan nilai hematokrit secara signifikan (P<0,05), terutama pada dosis 0,03%, dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Total eritrosit menunjukkan penurunan pada hari ke-21 pada semua perlakuan ekstrak, diduga akibat kandungan senyawa bioaktif (tanin, flavonoid, dan saponin) dalam dosis tinggi. Senyawa bioaktif dalam ekstrak kulit jengkol seperti flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin diketahui berperan dalam peningkatan parameter hematologi, namun penggunaannya perlu memperhatikan dosis yang sesuai sehingga tidak menimbulkan efek negatif.   &nbsp
