The Concepts of the Ridigal Right and Extremism: The Main Approaches and the Analysis of the Georgian Language Literature
No full textNowadays, the issue of radical/extreme/far right is getting more and more popular. The same trend can be seen inGeorgia, where the given issue is salient in dozens of academic works. However, terminological ambiguity is playing a key role as authors use different concepts in the same context. The article aims to compare the major findings of the concepts of radical and extreme right-wing and to critically overview and analyze the academic literature published in Georgian. Therefore, combination of document analysis and quantitative content-analysis allow us to assess relevant online-published papers. The results show that both university and research organization-affiliated authors neglect the problem of terminological ambiguity. The article is one of the first attempts of bibliographic analysis in the sub-field and can be used as a map for interested scholars.

The development of the Internet has given rise to new cyber dimensions and consequently cyber threats. The digital world has given a wide range of opportunities to everyone, including cybercriminals who are trying to use modern technology to harm citizens or state institutions.The aim of this paper is to identify the methods of cybercrime that pose a threat to both individuals and states in the modern world. Youth Organizations of Political Parties in Georgia as a Tool for Political Socialization of Youth (2020 Parliamentary Elections)
No full textThe article discusses the role of youth organizations of political parties in the political socialization of young people during the 2020 parliamentary elections in Georgia. In-depth interviews with young representatives of 9 political entities (which crossed the 1% threshold) revealed opportunities for political socialization of youth. It was found that political parties in their ranks do little to encourage young people to develop politically and develop their political careers from youth organizations of political parties.In today's political parties, there is a practical attitude towards the members of youth organizations, which leads to the nihilistic attitude of the youth towards the parties and politics in general, which is why they often leave the party. The pre-election activities of the youth organizations of the parties during the 2020 parliamentary elections were different from the activities of the post-election period. It has been found that the number of young people in the youth wing has dropped dramatically since the election due to a reduction in resources or initiatives by the party
The Attempts to Develop the Parliamentary Code of Ethics in Georgia
No full textThe abstract analyzes the attempts and experience to develop the Parliamentary Code of Ethics inGeorgiain 2004-2020. The official documents around the research issue, reports of local and international organizations, and documents of ethical rules of conduct developed in the Georgian legislature and other normative acts regulating the activities of parliamentarians are examined by qualitative content analysis method. The in-depth interviews with politicians who were directly involved in drafting the Parliamentary Code of Ethics were also conducted within the survey.The initiative to develop a parliamentary code of ethics comes from Western democracies, where they try to develop and implement codes of ethics at all branches and levels of government. Codes of ethics promote understanding of responsibility and establishing conscientious approaches in the implementation of professional activities.The study of attempts to develop a parliamentary code of ethics in Georgia has shown that there is no real political will to establish moral-ethical principles in the governing process, and the document of rules of conduct is of a formal nature.
The 25th of February, 1921 from the celebration to the occupation
No full textThe paper discusses how the interpretation about the past political experice of Georgiahad changed through the various periods of times in the twentieth century. The research consentrates on Georgia’s Sovietization date the 25th of Fabruary, 1921 and explores how the meaning of the date was constructed by the Soviet government (in the early twevnties of the twentieth century) and how the forgotten narrative about the day was rediscovered by the Georgian Natonal Movement, political elites and scholars in history. There were no any alternative narratives about Georgia’s political development in the Soviet discourse of events. No one was allowed to question the established vision about the Sovietization of Georgia, but after the declared policies of Perestroika and Glasnost the National Movement in Georgia started to question legacy of the Soviet governemt, alternative narratives of Goergia’s Sovietization were discussed by the scholars. Based on facts and documents research it turned out the 25th of February, 1921 was not the day to be remembered and celebrated in a positive context forGeorgia, but it became the date of occupation of the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921 years).

The contracts with all three lobbying firms are currently terminated and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development does not currently have a lobbyist operating in the US.

The Gender Quota and the Experience of the Women Political Activism in Georgia
No full textGender equality is closely linked to the sustainable development of the country and is a necessary condition for the universal realization of human rights. Achieving gender equality in the political area is one of the central issues of gender equality. The low involvement of women in political life is equally characteristic for both” - Developed Democracies and New Democracies, includingGeorgia.We are interested in studying the political participation of women inGeorgiaand determining how effective are the new electoral system and the "gender quota" mechanism for increasing women's representation. When and how was the gender quota adopted and does it give us or not the optimistic outlook about increasing the number of women. One of the main tasks of the paper is also to identify the factors hindering political participation and to develop effective policy alternatives aimed to eliminate gender differences in order to understand the main causes of the problem of under-representation of women in Georgian Parlament.It would take decades for women to achieve equal political participation inGeorgiain a natural way, that’s why to speed up the process and eliminate a gender inequality, in 2020 Parliament of Georgia supported the establishment of a legislative gender quota. We are interested in studying the political participation of women inGeorgiatoday.One of the main tasks of the paper is also to identify the factors hindering political participation and to develop effective policy alternatives, wich aimes to eliminate gender differences, in order to understand the main causes of women’s under-representation in politics.
