BIOREMEDIATION OF SODA ASH CONTAMINATED WITH GREASE: THE APPLICATION OF COMPOSTING TECHNOLOGY
Perubahan fisika dan kimia dalam timbunan kompos diteliti selama proses pengomposan limbah pembuatan botol yang terkontaminasi oleh gemuk (grease). Temperature awal menunjukkan peningkatan diikuti oleh penurunan secara bertahap pada akhir proses pengomposan. C:N rasio dan bahan tambahan nampaknya mempunyai pengaruh yang paling nyata dalam memproduksi temperatur tinggi. Proses pengomposan selama lima (5) bulan tidak menghilangkan kontaminan sampai batas yang dipersyaratkan. Oleh karena itu diperlukan waktu tambahan guna mengurangi kontaminan sampai level yang ditetapkan. Proses pengomposan ini berhasil dalam menghasilkan temperatur yang meningkat, namun parameter yang menyebabkan kenaikan temperatur tersebut masih belum jelas
ESTIMASI EMISI DIOKSIN/FURAN DAN FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KONSENTRASI EMISI KE UDARA YANG BERASAL DARI INDUSTRI LOGAM
Dioxin/furan is one of the persistent organic pollutants (POPs) that the government and public in Indonesia has not taken care of, as there is currently no policy on reducing dioxin/furan emission, even according to previous research dioxin/furan emission has already high. Steel industries produce dioxin/furan emission that will give negative impact to the people (cancer and death) and environment. The objective of this research was to estimate dioxin/furan emission and to determine factors that influence dioxin/furan emission concentration on the air, especially from steels industries. Methods employed in this research used emission factors to estimate dioxin/furan emission and Gaussian dispersion modeling to estimate emission concentration. The result showed that dioxin/furan emission is 9,38-13,54 gTEQ and it has to be reduced. Production is main factor to contribute dioxin/furan emission to the air. Besides that, emission concentration also depends on temperature, wind speed, height of stacks and radius from the site to the recipient. The conclusion of the research is dioxin/furan emission should be reduced, by means of first or second treatment
PENGARUH PENCUCIAN PADA TANAH TERCEMAR NATRIUM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN
Sodium (Na) was found as one of chemical elements that able to disturb plants that grow along the Cikijing river. This river water that had been detected as contains high sodium, whereas the river water is still used by local farmers to irrigate their rice fields. The aim of this research are to identify the effect of bleaching process on the Na polluted soils toward the plant growth. Experiment was conducted in a greenhouse using rice field soils that contains high Na as the experiment material. The soils were washed using deepwater well and filtered water. Filtering was processed using zeolit and white sand, whereas rice plants were used as indicator. Result show that bleaching with deep water well and filtered water are both able to reduce the contain on Na in the soils. The application of deep well water and filtered water has shown a significant influence toward the height of the rice plants and the number of productive rice buds. The rice plants irrigated by deep water well are seen as higher in growth and bigger in number of productive rice buds compare to rice plants watered with filtered irrigation. The length (height) of plant watered with deep water well (99.1 cm) was significantly different with rice plants watered with filtered water (80.8 cm). On the other hand, the average number of 36 productive rice buds watered with deep water well is significantly different with rice plants watered by filtered water in the number of 23
EFEK KONSUMSI MINUMAN BUBUK KAKAO LINDAK BEBAS LEMAK TERHADAP AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN FLAVONOID PADA PLASMA MANUSIA
Fat free cocoa powder is a rich source of flavonoid antioxidants including epicatechin, catechin, and procyanidins, which have attracted interest regarding cardiovascular health. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of Indonesian fat free cocoa powder drink consumption on antioxidants activity. Healthy woman subjects were divided into cocoa group (n=9) and control group (n=9). Cocoa powder drink containing skim milk and sugar was given to the cocoa group. The control group received only water containing skim milk and sugar. The criteria of the respondents were according to health medical diagnosis and informed consent signature. Their peripheral blood was withdrawn for the analysis of antioxidants capacity. Antioxidants capacity consisted of antiradical by DPPH method, malonaldehyde (MDA) content, vitamin C, and diene conjugation. The data of cocoa group showed that there were significant increased in antiradical, vitamin C and decreased in MDA content (p<0.05). Cocoa consumption increased diene conjugation however was not significantly (p<0.05). In conclusion, the Indonesian fat free cocoa powder has increased plasma antioxidant system, which manifest good health function
PEMANFAATAN IDEF0 UNTUK ANALISIS KINERJA SISTEM MANUFAKTUR (STUDI KASUS: THE ORDER HANDLING MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS)
The IDEF0 (Integration Definition Language 0) developed by Douglas T.Ross and SoftTech.Inc is a procedure for modeling functionality as part of the Air Force programmed on computer-aided-manufacturing which based on SADT (Structured Analisys and Design Technique). Wang and Smith (1988) suggested that IDEF0 could be combined with SSM. IDEF0 is used to analysis manufacture systems, in this case OHMS. Data from research (Budiarto, 2005) on Division of General Engineering at PT.PAL use OHMS further analyzed in this study. Data analysis shows that IDEF0 can be used to mapping activity system, both at the global as well as detail views, and performance indicators for each detail activities can be developed trough IDEF0. In addition IDEF0 can be used as a tool in providing recommendation of performance improvement of manufacturing systems. 
PERBANDINGAN METODE MODEL-BASED DENGAN METODE K-MEAN DALAM ANALISIS CLUSTER
K-mean method is a clustering method in which grouping techniques are based only on distance measure among observed objects, without considering statistical aspects. Model-based clustering is a method that use statistical aspects, as its theoretical basis i.e. probability maximum criterion. This model has several variations with a variety of geometrical characteristics obtained by mean Gauss component. Data partition is conducted by utilizing EM (expectation-maximization) algorithm. Then by using Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC) the best model is obtained. This research aimed to comparing result of grouping methods between model-based clustering and K-mean clustering. The results showed that model-based clustering was more effective in separating overlap groups than K-mean
PENAPISAN AKTINOMISETES YANG BERSIFAT ANTAGONIS TERHADAP PENYAKIT LAYU BAKTERI TANAMAN CABE
Ralstonia solanacearum can cause droop bacteria desease in chilli plants which resulted in productivity’s decreasing. Chemical subtances commonly used to eliminate the bacteria is costly and have negative effect on environment. This research aims to eliminate the varied actinomisetes and to get antagonistics actinomisetes towards the droop bacteria desease of chilli plants. The Botanical forest in Baturaden was chosen because has unique and high diversity microorganism that has characteristic antagonism that pressure growth of other antagonistic’s because of antimicrobe. A number of 18 actinomisetes isolat were successfully isolated and then rejuvenated based on morphology, colours, and shape of the colonies. A characterization of morphology trait towards target bacteria had also been conducted. Six of the 18 actinomisetes isolat have antagonist characteristics towards target bacteria’s growth. Isolat Btrd II.g and Btrd IV.l have the highest resistor activity as indicated by a 6 and 5 mm crystal clear zone. It indicated that actinomisetes isolat Btrd II.g and Btrd IV.l have relatively high antagonist characteristics. Btrd II.g and Btrd IV.l are potential to be used as an environmental friendly way to eliminate droop bacteria desease in chilli plants
ANALISIS KOMPARASI ANTARA PENGGUNA SISTEM REGISTRASI WEB-BASED DAN NONWEB-BASED DALAM PENERIMAAN INOVASI TEKNOLOGI INFORMASI
This research investigated the behavioral differences between web-based registration system’s users and manual registration system’s users. There are several difference characteristics of each user, for instance; Personal Innovativeness in the domain of Information Technology (PIIT), attitude, usefulness, ease of use, subjective norm, behavioral control, facilitating condition, and self efficacy. The samples of this research are university students in Yogyakarta. The result of this research shows that web-based registration system’s users has higher PIIT, higher positive attitude, higher subjective norm, higher behavioral control, higher facilitating condition, and higher self efficacy than manual registration system’s user. There’s no difference between manual registration system’s users and web-based registration system’s users for the usefulness perception and ease of use
 
PROFIL VEGETASI PEKARANGAN DI DESA JABON MEKAR, KECAMATAN PARUNG, BOGOR
Jabon Mekar village is well-known by people as the central of fruit producing at subdistrict of Parung. However it was estimated as a buffer zone of Jakarta and subject of the urban development. The aim of the research is to study the vegetation profile and the tree of model architecture at home-garden of community in the village of Jabon Mekar. The methods used for vegetation analysis were the quadrate method and the vegetation profile architecture method. The result of the vegetation profile at home-garden research shows that according to their formation of canopy coat, there were five stratums. Based on the vertical and horizontal of profile diagram, the dominant species of plants is Gnetum gnemon, with Fagerlind model of architecture; and the co-dominant species of plants is Musa sp., with Tomlinson model of architecture. The domination of these two trees of architecture models will give a limited chance of having an erotion process at the home-garden society. 
PEMANFAATAN ICT DALAM PEMBELAJARAN
The conventional instruction which is characterized by, for example, seperating schools from their environments, teachers as the only source of knowledge and quiet learning classrooms is no more effective and even hampers the development of student’s potentials. The concept of multiple intelligences and the new finding of human brain’s stratified structure implies a new alternative of instruction in order to bring schools and the educational system in line with new era’s up to date demands. The alternative involves the reform of instructional approach and the information and communication technology (ICT) for education. The school reform must be taken in the context of the education refor
