Get PDFThe Increased fishing intensity will provide positive and negative impacts. Positive impact is an increase in production that can provide benefits, while the negative impact is eventually decline in production catches. The purpose of this research is potential of Estimating Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) in Malang Regency could still be maintained. MSY at the level of Maximum Economic Yield (MEY). Optimization of fishing effort and analysis economic eligibility fishing effort. The method of research using the survey method, Analysis of the data used is static Bio-economic model, and Gorden-Schaefer model. While the research results obtained MEY value of 5,789,952. kg/year and the actual conditions, a production of 5,221,781 kg/year and MSY of 5,829,206 kg/year, the rate of 90% utilization optimization, and optimal fishing levels have exceeded MSY. The advantage of fishermen in biology and economics as much as 5,789,952 kg/year. Conclusion The results showed that the water condition in Malang Regency was not economically efficient, because already there is excess fishing effort. Optimization needs to be done by limiting fishing effort, intensified fishing activities in deeper waters.
 
PENGEMBANGAN MODEL TUTORIAL MATEMATIKA MELALUI STUDI PEMBELAJARAN (TMSP) DI POKJAR SIDOARJO
Get PDFLearning achievement of Mathematics among Universitas Terbuka (UT) students generally are less satisfactory. A mathematics tutorial model by using lesson study (TMLS) was developed and evaluated. Criteria of usefulness of the lesson study is measured based on the validity, practicality and effectiveness in improving the quality of the tutorial. The study was conducted in Surabaya. The respondents consist of Mathematics learning experts, Mathematics lecturer, tutors and UTs elementary school education students. The results showed that TMLS model and its learning instruments meet the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness. It can be seen from the results of the implementation TMLS model that showed some advantages, such as (a) good response of the students toward TMLS model, (b) the TMLS model was suitable with the tutorial basic principle that is students independence, (c) the TMLS model increased students mastery and thinking level at the mathematic modules, (d) the TMLS model had motivated students to be active in finding the deeper understanding of the subjects, (e) the TMLS model had motivated students to improve their meta cognitive knowledge, (f) The tutors role in the implementation of the TMLS model was suitable with the main function of tutor, and (g) the learning syntax of the TMLS model had motivated the students to be active in learning and developing their mathematics communication

This research explained the perception of students about utilization of virtual laboratory in physics to learn the topic of linear motion. The research carried out on student class X in SMAN 87 Jakarta Selatan in 2009/2010. Data is collected from quesioner and then analyzed descriptively. The result indicates that using virtual laboratory, students better understand the concept of linear motion and give them experience of more save and more compartable practicum

In order to serve its students better, both academic and administrative, the distance learning university usually applies a uniform approach in designing students learning activities. The approach covers learning process and examination components. The reason of using this approach is mainly based on managerial factors. The uniform approach which is associated with behavioral learning theory limit the creativity of distance students to construct their knowledge. It is necessary for the distance learning students to have a broad spectrum of knowledge used in daily professional activities. The purpose of the present paper is to elaborate the possibilities of using other approaches that will be able to enhance student knowledge. Instead of using uniform or behavioral approach, there are possibilities to apply a constructivism theory in printed learning material to be used distance learning system

Get PDFAgricultural extension workers must have several competencies in order to do their job properly.One essential competence to master was related to their andragogic abilities, especially in mastering the concepts of extension and adult education.This research was intended to identify the andragogic competence of agricultural extension workers graduated from Universitas Terbuka (UT). The information of competence aspects such as knowledge, affective, and psychomotor were also collected to elaborate the findings. By using an explanatory research design, a survey technique was implemented among 111 agricultural extension workers who were graduated from UT in four different locations, namely Serang, Karawang, Cirebon, and Tanggamus. Data were collected by using questionnaire and analyzed by using descriptive statistics. In depth interview was also conducted to elaborate the findings. The findings indicated that agricultural extension workers graduated from UT generally had a medium level in their andragogic competence, either in implementing the concepts of extention or in adult education. Their level of knowledge and psychomotor was low, while their affective level were moderate

Life annuity depends on time until death and life probability, for example, pension payment from insurance company. The objective of this paper is to discuss further about life annuity and the relationship with life probability that is influences by time until death and the assumption of interest which is used. Time until death (T) is a random variable, because it is unpredictable. To determine the value of distribution, assumption values on tqx will be used. These values are generated by T simulation which depends on Uniform distribution (0,1) random values. A few cases of determining life annuity using tpx distribution values by T simulation will be discussed

Get PDFOnline examination started in UPBJJ-UT Surabaya since 2005.2 named UBK (Ujian Berbasis Komputer/Computer Based Examination) until 2009.2. On 2010.1, UBK was implemented more perfectly, and the name has changed to beOnline Examination System ( Sistem Ujian Online/ SUO).However, the number of students who participated in both UBK and SUO is always less than 20 people or less than 2% of total of students of Non-Basic Education Study Program at UPBJJ-UT Surabaya. This article explains about the evaluation of the implementation of online examination, specifically on Non-Basic Education Study Program at UPBJJ-UT Surabaya. One hundred twenty five students and five administrator acted as the informant of the evaluation, and survey, in-depth interview, and direct observation were used to collect data and information. Research result showed that majority of students still do not know about online examination system and socialization of online examination system by institution was the biggest factor that affect this condition

More substancially, the mastery of basic competencies to do with the settlement of local budgeting and revenue planning are still being handycap. This research discusses the profile of those of three main synergetic competences of local legislative members in Sukabumi, both the city and the regency.
