The Higher Education System: Basic Concepts and Implications for Institutional Governance
Higher education has a strategic role in educating the nation's life and increasing global competitiveness. As a system, higher education consists of collaborating components such as inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes that must be managed in an integrated and sustainable manner. This study aims to describe the basic concept of higher education as a system and analyze its implications for institutional governance. The method used is systematic literature review (SRL) with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by searching various literatures in various databases such as Google Scholar, DOAJ, and ScienceDirect and analyzed using thematic techniques. The results of the study show that the higher education system encourages the transformation of institutional governance from traditional administrative models to data-based and quality-oriented adaptive governance. The implementation of the system allows institutions to improve the quality of governance through the integration of management information systems, strengthening the culture of quality, and collaboration between stakeholders. This system provides benefits in the form of improving the quality of public services, innovation, and productivity, but there are challenges in this system such as low graduate absorption, limited scientific development and regulatory dynamics. It is concluded that higher education as a system is not only a conceptual framework, but also a practical basis for developing adaptive and quality-oriented institutional governance
Beyond Automated Feedback: Indonesian Educators’ Reflections on Deepseek AI’s Role in Fostering Metacognition
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in education has generated considerable interest due to their potential to enhance formative assessment, metacognition, and self-regulated learning. However, in resource-constrained settings, cost and infrastructural barriers often hinder widespread AI adoption. This qualitative study examines Indonesian educators’ perceptions of Deepseek AI, a free AI platform offering functionalities similar to more commercially dominant tools. Through semi-structured interviews with 14 teachers and lecturers in South Sulawesi, the study explores how Deepseek AI supports formative assessment, fosters metacognitive skills, and aligns (or misaligns) with local cultural and infrastructural contexts. Thematic analysis revealed that Deepseek AI’s real-time feedback, adaptive pathways, and automated grading significantly reduce teacher workload and enhance student engagement. Participants also noted improvements in learners’ metacognitive reflection, with AI-generated prompts prompting students to examine their problem-solving strategies. Nonetheless, rural educators reported connectivity gaps that delayed feedback and limited the tool’s effectiveness. Concerns over cultural mismatch in AI-generated materials were also prominent, highlighting the need for localized content that resonates with Indonesian norms and values. While ethical considerations such as data privacy were mentioned, most educators stressed the urgency of training and policy support—particularly government-led investments in rural broadband and professional development programs. Overall, the findings underscore both the promise and complexity of integrating AI in low-resource educational settings. Deepseek AI can catalyze more efficient, learner-centered pedagogies if stakeholders address infrastructural inequities, cultivate teacher readiness, and ensure cultural and ethical alignment. These insights inform policymakers, EdTech developers, and educators seeking equitable AI solutions that optimize student learning outcomes.

Design Speaks English: Crafting Messages from Sketches to Slogans
In today’s globalized creative industries, English proficiency is not merely a supportive skill but a core component of professional literacy, especially in advertising. However, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) instruction often fails to reflect the communicative realities of design students, leading to a disconnect between language learning and domain-specific needs. This study explores how advertising students at Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif engage with English when crafting brand messages in visual campaigns. The aim is to identify the linguistic challenges they face and the pedagogical adjustments needed in ESP instruction. Employing a qualitative research design, this study involved 15 advertising students as participants. Data were collected through document analysis of student-produced advertising materials, semi-structured interviews, and classroom observations. Thematic analysis revealed five core findings: (1) English use was shaped more by intuitive creativity than formal instruction; (2) students showed resourcefulness in digital-assisted writing but struggled with genre-specific tone and idiomatic accuracy; (3) multimodal synergy between text and visuals was enhanced by linguistic confidence; (4) collaborative language support was seen as lacking; and (5) students called for more context-specific ESP learning experiences. The study contributes to ESP and design education by proposing a reimagined ESP curriculum that includes task-based, genre-driven, and collaborative approaches tailored to creative disciplines. Findings suggest that integrating language instruction with design practice enhances students' communicative competence and their ability to produce globally resonant advertising content. This research supports a shift from generalized English training toward a more embedded, practice-oriented ESP pedagogy in design education
Konsep Pendidikan Holistik Dalam Peningkatan Kemampuan Literasi dan Numerasi Siswa Sekolah dasar
A compressive technique to reconstruct education in all its facets is known as holistic education. A qualitative descriptive research technique combined with a literature study approach was the research methodology employed in this study. This approach entails gathering, examining, documenting, and evaluating information from a variety of reference sources that are pertinent to the study's goals. This approach is employed in this study to better comprehend the idea of holistic education in enhancing elementary school students' reading and numeracy skills. According to the study's findings, elementary school students' literacy and numeracy can be improved through the use of holistic education. However, many educational institutions have not fully adopted this approach, and other studies have noted a number of implementation challenges, such as a lack of dedication to collaboration among related sectors.
 
Problematika Pembelajaran Matematika Dalam Persepktif Orang Tua Sekolah Dasar Limau Bandi School
Matematika yang berperan sangat penting dalam berbagai mata pelajaran menjadi elemen yang perlu diperhatikan dalam masalah belajar di tingkat SMA. Tujuan penelitian ini memberikan gambaran masalah yang dihadapi pembelajaran matematika dalam perspektif guru matematika. Metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang dapat memberikan gambaran secara lebih komprehensif. Data penelitian yang sudah valid, dilanjutkan untuk dianalisis dengan memberikan gambaran dalam bentuk mind-maps agar memberikan kemudahan dalam menyimpulkan informasi yang didapatkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor sosial dan lingkungan sangat mempengaruhi siswa SMA dalam belajar matematika yang cukup signifikan
Evaluating the impact of the flipped classroom model on senior secondary students' mathematics achievement: a quasi-experimental study in Nigeria
The ongoing poor achievement in mathematics underlines the need for effective instructional approaches that can boost students’ comprehension and performance. The study aimed to examine the effects of the flipped classroom model and gender on the mathematics achievement of senior secondary school students in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, Nigeria. Fifty-four students were divided into an experimental group, which received flipped classroom instruction, and a control group, which was taught through traditional methods. Data were collected over six weeks using the Mathematics Achievement Test (MAT) with a reliability coefficient of 0.74, along with pre- and post-test assessments. The data were analyzed using ANCOVA. ANCOVA results revealed that the flipped classroom model had a statistically significant effect on students' mathematics achievement (p < 0.05), confirming the model's impact on academic achievement. The gender analysis showed that both male and female students benefited equally from the flipped classroom model, highlighting its inclusivity as an effective teaching strategy. The study concludes that the flipped classroom model significantly improves mathematics achievement in Ogun State’s secondary schools. It recommends adopting this model, coupled with appropriate teacher training and resource allocation, to promote equitable and enhanced learning outcomes
Public Service Motivation, Integrity, and Performance: A Mediational Analysis in Civil Registration Services
The persistently low quality of public services in Indonesia remains a critical issue, as highlighted by 2024 Indonesian Ombudsman data showing a high volume of public complaints, primarily concerning bureaucratic personnel behavior lacking public orientation and integrity. This study examines the influence of public service motivation and integrity on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable, focusing on the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) in West Pasaman Regency. Adopting a quantitative, associative approach, the study surveyed 58 respondents selected via simple random sampling from a total population of 61 employees. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire based on a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed through path analysis. The findings indicate that both public service motivation and integrity significantly positively impact employee performance, directly and indirectly, through job satisfaction. Integrity emerged as the most influential factor affecting performance (β = 0.934; R² = 0.873), followed by job satisfaction (β = 0.925; R² = 0.856) and public service motivation (β = 0.891; R² = 0.795). This study underscores the urgent need for human resource development strategies emphasizing integrity and public service motivation while fostering a supportive work environment to enhance job satisfaction. By identifying key behavioral drivers of employee performance in local government institutions, the research contributes to the broader discourse on bureaucratic reform. It offers actionable insights for improving public service delivery in Indonesia
Penggunaan Model Problem Based Learning dalam Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Biologi Siswa Kelas X di SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peningkatan hasil belajar biologi siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi keanekaragaman hayati di kelas X SMK PGRI 1 Surakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah 32 siswa kelas X. Data hasil belajar kognitif dikumpulkan melalui tes akhir siklus (posttest) pada masing-masing siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum penerapan model PBL, hanya 37,50% siswa yang mencapai nilai di atas Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM). Setelah penerapan model PBL, persentase ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 62,50% pada siklus I dan 90,63% pada siklus II. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa model Problem Based Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Dengan demikian, PBL dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang direkomendasikan dalam pembelajaran biologi di tingkat sekolah menengah kejuruan. 
Pengelolaan Arsip-Arsip Kepariwisataan di Inggris, Belanda, dan Swiss Sebagai Sumber Rujukan Manajemen Arsip Pariwisata Indonesia
This research was conducted based on the phenomenon of the problem of the absence of a structured and systematic management system for tourism archives owned by the Indonesian Government, both at the central and regional levels. Since the Dutch colonial era until the Reformation era, the condition that should have occurred was that the management of tourism archives should be given the same attention as the management of archives in other fields such as law, politics, economics, social, and the like. However, the reality is not like that. Therefore, this study aims to compare the management of tourism archives in developed countries such as in the European Continent which are considered to have high awareness of archive management, so that they can provide reference knowledge about the procedures for managing modern, innovative, and structured Indonesian tourism archives. This study uses a literature study method using a hermeneutic study technique approach. The findings of this study indicate that by taking three samples of developed countries in the European Continent such as England, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, they show good awareness in maintaining their archives, including their tourism fields. They have an adequate and sophisticated archive integration system by combining technology and information systems. The contribution of this research result for the future is that it can provide knowledge about the tourism archive management model that should be carried out by the Indonesian Government by referring to countries that have experience in the field of archive management
Analisis Interaksi Parasosial Bang Yedam dalam Membangun Kedekatan dengan BY:D Melalui Media Sosial Instagram
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan bagaimana interaksi parasosial Bang Yedam dalam Membangun Kedekatan dengan BY:D Melalui Media Sosial Instagram. Interaksi parasosial adalah hubungan satu arah antara audiens dan karakter media. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hubungan yang terbentuk antara individu dan tokoh publik, di mana penggemar merasakan kedekatan emosional dengan figur tersebut meskipun tidak ada interaksi langsung. Melalui laman media sosial Instagram Bang Yedam, peneliti mencoba untuk menggali interaksi parasosial yang terjadi berdasarkan beberapa karakteristik interaksi parasosial. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi wawancara, observasi tidak langsung, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi parasosial tersebut terbentuk melalui tiga karakteristik utama, yakni Task Attraction, Identification Attraction, dan Romantic Attraction. Dari ketiga hal tersebut, task attraction menjadi karakteristik yang muncul pada semua Narasumber dibandingkan dengan karakteristik lainnya. Penggemar BY:D mengidolakan Bang Yedam karena bakat dan prestasi yang dimilikinya, terutama dalam bidang musik. Selain itu, hasil penelitian juga menjelaskan bahwa media sosial Instagram menjadi sarana penting dalam membangun interaksi parasosial. Proses tersebut ditandai dengan interaksi pada kolom komentar, mengungah insta story tentang Bang Yedam, menyukai postingan Yedam, dan lain sebagainya yang dilakukan secara berulang oleh BY:D dan Bang Yedam. Maka dari itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa media sosial Instagram dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana utama dalam membangun kedekatan emosional. Meskipun hubungan ini bersifat satu arah, penggemar merasa lebih dekat dengan Bang Yedam dan terus menantikan konten yang dibagikan olehnya
