EVALUATING UNUSUAL CLAIMS AND DEVICES USING A TEAM APPROACH: A CASE STUDY

    Get PDF
This talk will review the work of Jacques Benveniste and his development of a "Digital Biology" device. A team of scientists attempted a replication of Benveniste's claims using his device. The Interactions among team members and their management will be reviewed. The experiences and insights gained from this process may be useful as a model for studying unusual claims and subtle effects. Other models for studying and understanding the field of bioenergy also will be presented. This paper is based on Dr. lves Keynote Address made at the Twelfth Annual ISSSEEM Conference The Co-Creation Process in Energy Medicine: A Synergy the Sciences and the Healing Arts (June 14-19, 2002)

EXPLORING THE HEART AND AETHER IN ENERGY MEDICINE

    Get PDF
The heart is presented as the energetic center of the human subtle energy system that plays a coordinating role in human physiology beyond its accepted role as a cardiovascular pump. As the body’s most dynamic field integrator of life energy, the heart plays a formative role in the creation of the new paradigm of energy medicine. This paper explores the role of the heart in cardiovascular functioning, healing, cognition and subtle energy modulation. Water and blood are shown to play a central role in mediating consciousness and intention. A hypothesis is presented that the heart utilizes diverse subtle energy and electromagnetic regulatory processes to coordinate complex information flows within the body and the environment. A new model of a non-material higher-dimensional Planck aether developed by Klaus Volkamer is presented based on research of anomalous mass determinations with subtle energy detectors. The heart becomes a metaphor for the new synthesis between science and spirit that was the theme of the 2009 ISSSEEM conference

SIMULTANEOUS VARIATION IN THE HEART AND BRAIN ELECTRICAL FIELDS

    Get PDF
The author measured a participant’s heart and brain electrical fields simultaneously using EEG electrodes and neurofeedback software while her psychophysiological state was being varied. In the first session, the participant was in an awake-alert state in bright light; in the second she was in a drowsy state in dim light; in both conditions recordings were made with eyes open and eyes closed. Significant differences in EEG amplitude were found in both the brain and heart electrical fields comparing the psychophysiological states of eyes open/eyes closed and alert/drowsy. It is possible to study the participation of peripheral nerve centers such as the cardiac plexus in psychophysiological state change and information processing

Self-Regulation Training for Control of Hypertension

    Get PDF
Over the past 10 years controlled clinical studies have demonstrated that antihypertensive medication can prevent deaths from stroke, congestive heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, and kidney disease, even in patients with borderline (140/90-160/95) hypertension. Today, a new treatment method of psychophysiologic self-regulation developed over a 5-year period suggests that many patients are able gradually to eliminate these medications while restoring or maintaining normotensive blood pressure levels. Follow-up indicates that a healthier homeostatic balance is achieved and stress management maintained without need for continued daily practice of self-regulation. Subsequent to the writing of this report, an additional 50 patients have been treated with this method, both individually and in groups, with equally good results. Results indicate that 75-80 per cent of patients will find it possible to comply with the training regimen, as taught at The Menninger Foundation, and will become normotensive without drugs. This is one of a series of articles that appeared in the proceedings of the Second National Conference on Emotional Stress and Heart Disease, published in the Journal of the South Carolina Medical Association, November, 1979

    BIOFEEDBACK, CONSCIOUSNESS, AND HUMAN POTENTIAL

We consider the next paper ofprimary importance in positioning bioftedback and selfregulation with its philosophical and scientific progenitors. It provides us with an overarching conceptual framework that integrates the Greens' self-regulation concepts with concepts from ethology, Freudian psychodynamics, perception theory, psycho-neuroanatomy, Autogenic Training, yogic theory and Jungian psychology

ON THE MEANING OF TRANS PERS ONAL: SOME METAPHYSICAL PERSPECTIVES

Two streams ofideas and experience flow simultaneously throughout the whole ofDr. Green s work: conventional science and metaphysics. Anyone who has spent time with him in the laboratory cannot foil to come away impressed with his meticulous attention to detail his truly skeptical approach to the stream ofongoing observations being made, and his search for other explanations than those he had thought to be true. At the same time little conversation with him is required to reveal that often the source ofhis hypotheses is the crucible of his extraordinary person experiences, .from childhood on, that have led him to observe a broader view of life through dreams, images and intuitions that contrast with our conventional understandings. This broad view derives, not .from sheer speculation, but rather .from actual experiences, as detailed in his latest book, The Ozawkie Book ofthe Dead, or Alzheimer's Im't What You Think It Is, to be published by the Philosophical Research Society in the foil of2001.1 In this section, we will explore ideas pertaining to trans personal psychology and bioenergetic healing, as well as philosophical understandings ofthe process ofhuman development and the relationship ofhumankind to the multi-leveled world that surrounds us and that wells up within us. The trail begins with the following article .from the early days ofDr. Green swork with his wife Alyce at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka. The following article originally appeared in the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology.2 [Eds.
