ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES IN THE EXTREMITIES ALONG MERIDIANS IN PATIENTS WITH UNILATERAL PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS
Get PDFABSTRACTObjectives: Electrical properties along meridians may reflect the flow of Ki energy, a type of suhtle energy. The objectives of this study were to characterize the laterality (disease versus non-disease side) of electrical properties along lung (LU) meridian in patients with unilateral pulmonary tuberculosis, and to examine the changes of the electrical properties over time along liver (LV) meridian during chemotherapy in patients with hepatitis induced hy anti-tuherculosis chemotherapy.Design and methods: Square wave pulses (3 V x 256 psec) were applied between indifferent electrodes placed on the extensor surface of each forearm and active electrodes placed on the Well points of each meridian located near the roO( of finger-and toe-nails. T he response electric current was characterized by 3 parameters: hefore polarization (BP; initial maximum) current, after polarization (AP; final stationary) current, and integrated coulomb (lQ; total electrical charge). Measurements was made hefore and at months I, 2, 3, 4 and '5 or 6 months after starting anti-tuberculosis chemotherapy. Analysis was done by classifying patients into 3 groups according (() liver function.Results: The IQ value along the LU meridian was excessive on the ruberculosis-uneffected (or less severely affected) side compared to the tuberculosis-effected (or more severely affected) side hefore chemotherapy, and the IQ of the unaffected side decreased to the same level as the affected side two months after start of chemotherapy. T he IQ and BP currents of LV meridian decreased coinciding with the onset of druginduced hepatitis due (() anti-tuherculosis drugs.Conclusions: The electrical properties along the LU meridian demonstrated laterality in patients with unilateral pulmonary tuherculosis, and the electric properties along the LV meridian changed in response (() the onset of drug-induced hepatitis. Neurophysiological Effects of Harmonisation: The Effect of Harmonisation on Heart Rate Variability, Respiratory Rate and Electroencephalograph
Get PDF Harmonisation is a practice whereby the harmoniser, who is centered in silent prayer, opens and nourishes the subject's chakras, using touch. This technique has been widely used since 1933, with substantial anecdotal evidence about its benefits, but no published, peer-reviewed data. This preliminary study aimed to discover if standard physiological measuring techniques can detect any significant changes in the central and autonomic nervous systems and the cardiopulmonary system during harmonisation. A simple, comparative design was used, with one experimental group of 20 self-selecting, healthy women, naive to harmonisation. The results were compared with reference data, matched for age and gender, from non-intervention control studies conducted by the same experimenters in the same neurophysiological laboratory. An 3D-minute recording session determined baseline, intervention and stabilization measurements of electroencephalographic, electrocardiographic, and respiratory data. A significant lowering of brain activity was found during the opening phase of harmonisation, implying a state of increased mental focus coupled with a sense of calmness and relaxation, while significant changes to heart beatlrespiration ratios were observed during the nourishing phase. This suggests that different physiological processes affecting the central and autonomic nervous systems and the cardiopulmonary system may occur during different phases of harmonisation

Get PDFABSTRACT We avoid the music that makes us uncomfortable because we have difficulty imagining that it can have any benefit. By doing so we do not use its potential to unblock the body to create change. Music that creates sublime experiences (musical thrills) and music that makes us uncomfortable use the same pathways and mechanisms for activation in the body. Sound enters through the cranial bones and the hearing mechanism and propagates itself in the form of sound waves through the connective tissue using the water the tissue contains to travel at nearly 5000 feet per second in an up/down direction. Sound waves are also produced internally and the body uses these for the regulation of more than 50 % of the biological processes through ligandlreceptor interaction. The frequencies that activate these processes lie between 20 and 20,000 Hz, the average range of human hearing. The transmission of both external and internal sound becomes blocked when the connective tissue becomes thicker, inflexible and dry by filling in voids created by incomplete emotional experiences. In bodywork, when this blocked tissue is worked, it heats up and softens and the water is reintroduced. The pain and emotional memory stored in the area is relived. Similarly, sound/music can cause pain or discomfort, and the listener can experience the memory of some emotional trauma. Through conscious listening to sound/music this can be brought to the point of resolution where the pain and the feeling associated with it will dissipate and a change in perception is noted

This paper does not attempt to prove the efficacy of Oriental Medicine. There have been many fine studies conducted by leading research institutes that speak to the value and growing acceptance of this ancient medicine, as a viable medical system. Rather, we will demonstrate how a basic understanding of Oriental Medicine combined with knowledge of human physiology, music theory, and the power of archerypes, myths, sympathies, and correspondences create a powerful vehicle for health care delivery.
