The Special Relationship Between Sound and Light, with Implications for Sound and Light Therapy
Get PDFIn this paper we explore the nature of sound and light and the special relationship that exists between these two seemingly unrelated forms of energy. The terms 'sound waves' and 'electromagnetic waves' are examined. These commonly used expressions, it is held, misrepresent science and may have delayed new discoveries. A hypothetical model is proposed for the mechanism that creates electromagnetism. named "Sonic Propagation of Electromagnetic Energy Components" (SPEEC). The SPEEC hypothesis states that all sounds have an electromagnetic component and that all electromagnetism is created as a consequence of sound. SPEEC also predicts that the electromagnetism created by sound propagation through air will be modulated by the same sound periodicities that created the electromagnetism. The implications for SPEEC are discussed within the context of therapeutic sound and light

Get PDFThis study examines the effects of the Clarus QLink ClearWave, a subtle energy transduction device, on anxiety levels ofstudents and teachers in a public school setting. Since anxiety may be caused by exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs), it is thought that by decreasing EMFs in the environment, anxiety in turn may be reduced. Quantitative measures used were the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Children. Findings indicate statistically significant differences (at p < .08) of state anxiety levels for students in the treatment condition group. Specifically, the Reiki treatments would target an dement of the recipient's autonomic nervous system (ANS), namely the heart, and use heart rate variability (HRV) to measure the of the amount of stress reduction resulting from the Reiki treatments. No full textAnalyses ofanecdotal reports of putative telepathic experiences have shown that these tend tobe reported on days ofrelatively lowgeomagnetic activity. Studies oflaboratory psi experiments have yielded weak confirmation of this effect. The existence of a negative correlation between scores in free response anomalous cognition experiments and geomagnetic fluctuations wasconfirmedinfour datasets (combined p=3x1(t6) which showed significant anomalous cognition. The negative correlation wasabsent from two other data sets showing no evidence of anomalous cognition. Additionally, analysis of an unusually large database ofanomalous cognition trials (n = 336), covering a range of approximately± 130hours between perceptionand target observation, suggests that the negative correlation between scores and geomagnetic fluctuations occurs only for trials inwhichthis interval is less than±2 hours, andis absent for precognitive orretrocognitive perception outside this time range. These results may facilitate the elucidation of the physical mechanism ofanomalous cognition
ACUPUNCTURE STUDIES: WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
Get PDFThis paper discusses some significant limitations ro clinical trials as a means of assessing acupuncture's scope of practice. Most of the research on acupuncture has incorporated the use of clinical trials ro determine its effectiveness for the treatment of specific conditions. With great variability in the methods, training, experience, and ability of the acupuncturists, it is not surprising that these studies have often produced conflicting results. These limitations of acupuncture clinical research remain even if the trials themselves are well designed. A biochemical explanation still prevails among physicians roday. Relatively scant attention has been given ro the many clinical observations and physiological studies published outside the mainstream medical journals which have strongly suggested a circulating flow of energy throughout our bodies. Investigation of acupuncture's intimate relationship with energy would be a more potentially rewarding ground for study, and several specific avenues of research are suggested. A greater awareness of pulse diagnosis and its implications is one sllch area fot fertile study, especially if there can be free and open communication among the different disciplines involved. Only through genuine interdisciplinary communication can the existing wide gaps between Eastern and Western medicine be narrowed

The Effects of Sacred/Shamanic Flute Music on Trauma and States of Consciousness
Get PDFThis research investigated the effects of listening to a particular music played on a Native American flute upon self reports of anxiety and perceptions of interconnectedness with individualsdiagnosed with a trauma related disorder. It was a combined statistical and qualitative study.The results supported the theoretical model which included ancient indigenous and mysticalcosmological concepts of interconnectedness and sound as healing (i.e. returning to wholeness).The research identified a recording of flute music (“Ancient Spirits”) as facilitating perceptual experiences of integration related to trauma, as well as expanded consciousness. Also illustrated were previosly undocumented dissociative processes. The results support a dissociative continuum which includes not only trauma related dissociation, but also wholeness related to concepts of spirituality and expanded consciousness. The study introduced a new testingmeasurement, the Interconnectedness Scale, with application in fields of psychology, spirituality and consciousness. The research points to the inclusion of sacred or shamanic world music'strans-cultural use, therapeutically and for consciousness exploration.
