MODIFIKASI GIGI MANUSIA BINANGUN DAN LERAN: €ŒTEMUAN BARU DI KAWASAN PANTAI UTARA KABUPATEN REMBANG, JAWA TENGAH€
Something interesting about the findings of the human skeleton in Binangun and Leran Prehistoric Burial Sites is the modification of the human teeth that is extremely rare found in prehistoric grave in Java as well as in Indonesia. Such tradition is still practiced in Java and Bali by leveling the top or bottom front teeth (Jawa: pangur tradition). Forms of human teeth of Binangun, Leran 1 and Leran 2 are very unique, teeth of Binangun is tapered while human teeth of Leran 1 and Leran 2 shaped like a flower bud. Anatomically the shape of teeth can be altered by a person in the habit of using his teeth. But variations in tooth shape as found in individuals in the Binangun and Leran sites, Rembang regency, Central Java province, in general is the result of a tribal culture
VISUALISASI NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM RELIEF CERITA HEWAN DI CANDI SOJIWAN
This study aims to analyze the relevance of values that exist in the relief of animal stories in Sojiwan temple with the present character education. The approach used is qualitative approach with descriptive phenomenological method. From the research it is known that the animal story selected as the fable is a story that is very popular and known by all people at various places. Here Animals are seen as a projection of human behavior and nature, so that the nature of humor within the fable could evoke willingness for introspection and retrospection. Fable in Sojiwan temple’s relief as one of Indonesian culture containing moral teachings that are still very relevant to character education for the younger generation of today. Schools and educators need to develop teaching and educational programs based on the local culture. Families and communities also need to be involved in character education for the younger generation, through habituation virtuous behavior
BENTENG KRATON PLERET: DATA HISTORIS DAN DATA ARKEOLOGI
As a part of a palace building, a fortress is one of the building components that must exist. A fortress is also found at Pleret Palace. The historical data obtained form Dutch records and chronicles mention that the Palace is equipped with a square-shaped fortress with a shield shape frontage. Then how the suitability of these data with archaeological evidence found at this site. This paper describes the historical data relating to the Pleret Palace fortress as well as archaeological data that have been found. Both data are compared to reveal the form, components, layout, and materials of the Pleret Palace fortress
TEMUAN NASKAH-NASKAH KUNO DI MASJID LAYUR, SEMARANG, JAWA TENGAH
The findings of ancient manuscripts in the ancient mosque on Layur Street, District of North Semarang known as Kampung Arab and lettered entirely in Arabic. Manuscripts were found on the roof of the mosque in a very poor condition, as most texts estimated to number in the tens of manuscripts have been destroyed, it cannot be identified. Through this paper the author will present a descriptive picture of the manuscript codex found in the Mosque Layur Semarang Central Java

Kṛṣṇa's Story Relief that carved on Lara Jonggrang Temple is an interesting relief which is rarely glimpsed as an object of research. This relief's depict Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma's life since childhood to adulthood. However, not all of the story is being carved, but the selected parts only. The aim of this research is to know how to characterize of Kṛṣṇa and BalarÄma on that relief. This research will use instrinsic story builder approach that usually used in literacy criticism

Human migration in prehistoric times strongly suggest very complex problems, which could be explained from various perspectives. This article attempts to explain fundamental aspect influencing the pattern of human migration in prehistoric times from Sunda Continent to Wallacean Zone. These aspects are, for example, environment, technology, culture and human being as a decision maker. Reconstructing interisland migration pattern of homo sapiens of hunter gatherer is not as easy as imagining interisland closest lines. This is because the focus of modern human migration is to search for a new area for exploiting natural resources
ARCA-ARCA DARI CANDI TONDOWONGSO DAN CANDI GURAH, KEDIRI
Gurah district which located at Kediri region is very rich in term of archaeological heritage. Lot of statues and brick structures were found at Tondowongso and Tiru Lor area. The most interesting thing is the discovery of BrahmÄ, Candra, SÅ«rya, Nandi and Yoni statues. In term of iconography, every statue from both areas shows similarity as well as differences. By comparing the composition of the statues found at Gurah temple, it could be presumed that the statues were made in the same place as the ones found in Tondowongso. The research at Tondowongso has not finished yet,so this assumption still need to be re-examined
