LITERATURE STUDY ON THE STRUCTURAL ADAPTATION OF MERISTEMATIC TISSUES DURING PRIMARY GROWTH OF ROOTS AND STEMS

    No full text
Every plant experiences growth and development throughout its life. This growth and development occurs in every plant organ that possesses meristematic tissue. Primary plant growth results from the activity of meristematic tissue located at the tips of roots and stems. Primary plant growth is the result of the activity of meristematic tissue located at the tips of roots and stems. This tissue consists of totipotent embryonic cells with a high mitotic rate. This study is a literature review aimed at analyzing the structure, physiological activity, and factors regulating the development of meristematic tissue in the early phase of plant growth. The review was conducted on 15 scientific articles published between 2021 and 2025 from various reputable international and national sources. The analysis results indicate that cell division in the root and stem apical meristem is controlled by hormonal interactions between auxin and cytokinin, as well as by genetic regulation involving the expression of the WOX, PLT, and KNOX genes. The structure of meristematic tissue is divided into three main zones: the division zone, the elongation zone, and the differentiation zone, each of which plays a role in forming primary tissues such as xylem, phloem, and parenchyma. Environmental factors, including light intensity, water availability, and temperature, also influence the rate of cell division and differentiation patterns. Overall, meristematic tissue plays a central role in the early morphogenesis of plants, forming the basis for the formation of root systems and stem growth, and providing an important foundation for the development of research in the field of modern plant anatomy and physiology

    No full text
This study looks at how moral philosophy can be included in English learning through group discussions, which aim to help students develop good communication skills based on the values of Pancasila. The main focus is on how group discussions can help build civility, encourage fair participation in speech, and show respect for the dignity of others. These discussions do more than just teach language skills; They also help students understand and practice ethical communication during conversations. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, and involves observing how students interact during discussions. Data is analyzed by grouping information and understanding the meaning behind what is said, based on moral values. The results show that adding moral philosophy to learning helps students become more aware of ethical behavior, reduces the tendency to dominate conversations, increases their willingness to listen, and makes them use more polite language. As a result, discussion becomes a place for equal and thoughtful communication, not just arguments. A unique part of this research is to create a teaching model that combines Pancasila values, ethical communication, and group discussion methods to help students become ethical speakers, not just good at speaking. The study also highlights the need for a set of rules for discussion ethics, a curriculum that includes moral and language aspects, and teachers who guide students to be fair, empathetic, and thoughtful in their communication. These findings suggest a new way of teaching English that focuses on using language to build character and humanity, not just on academic skills

This study examines the integration of Aristotelian ethics and Bugis philosophical values in the pedagogy of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in the local context of Pinrang, South Sulawesi. The main problem of this study lies in the limited EFL learning model that systematically accommodates local ethical and cultural dimensions, so that learning tends to be technical-linguistic oriented and does not touch the formation of students' character. This research aims to construct an EFL pedagogical framework based on virtue ethics and Bugis local wisdom as an alternative to a more humanistic and contextual learning paradigm. The methodology used is a qualitative approach with the method of philosophical inquiry through conceptual analysis and literature studies of relevant classical and contemporary works. The findings of the study show that the concepts of phronesis, arete, and eudaimonia in Aristotelian ethics have a conceptual correspondence with the values of siri', sipakatau, and sipakalebbi in the Bugis tradition. The integration of the two frameworks results in a conceptual model of EFL pedagogy that is oriented towards the development of communicative competencies as well as character building. This study concludes that a philosophical approach based on local values has the potential to enrich the philosophy and paradigm of EFL in the context of language education in Indonesia
