    No full text
ABSTRACT   Quality of life is the subjective perception of the individual to the physical, psychological, social, and environmental conditions experienced. The aim of the study was to analyze differences in the physical dimensions of the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients between providing hyperbaric oxygen therapy 10 days and 5 days. This study used the quasy experiment method with the approach of pre post test with control group design. The population in the study was 882 people with a sample of 14 respondents divided into two groups. 7 respondents in the treatment group and 7 respondents in the control group. Sampling used was consecutive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Paired t test and Independent t test. The results of the Paired t test statistic in the treatment group had differences in quality of life before and after 10 days of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, while the control group had no difference in quality of life before and after 5 days of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The independent t test results were different after being given hyperbaric oxygen therapy 10 days and 5 days. It is expected that health workers can be used as a reference source and as a basis for determining nursing intervention in the management of diabetes, especially in the quality of life of diabetic patients

ABSTRACT   Chronic kidney disease is a condition when kidney function begins to decline gradually. The condition of the decline in kidney function occurs due to many factors, one of which is because the kidney damage that has occurred intensely for many years. Patients with chronic renal failure need a management or hemodialysis therapy, which is the cleansing process of blood from waste substances, through a screening process outside the body using an artificial kidney in the form of a dialysis machine. Hemodialysis therapy is needed in the management of patients with chronic renal failure who cannot be treated again (terminal). The success of hemodialysis is based on various elements, one of which is compliance with fluid restrictions. Limitation of fluid intake in patients with chronic renal failure is very important. The provision of structured education can be given to patients with chronic kidney failure who are undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Education structured nutrition and electrolyte (ESNE) is a structured health education on nutrition and electrolyte management for chronic renal failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. ESNE is done to improve patients\u27 understanding of diet and electrolyte compliance to prevent an increase in IDWG and to improve patient compliance with fluid restrictions. The stages of service activities that have been carried out are to explain fluid requirements and fluid restriction in patients with chronic renal failure using the Education structured nutrition and electrolyte (ESNE) method, the next recourse is an evaluation after continuous or ESNE administration of respondents given treatment and respondents who were not treated. Keywords: Diet, Chronic Kidney Disease, Hemodialysis&nbsp

Coronary arteries are blood vessels that carry oxygen and nutrients to the heart muscle. These vessels can experience constriction due to the accumulation of plaque which causes atherosclerosis. Atherosclerosis is characterized by reduced coronary artery elasticity. Blood glucose levels are one of the factors that cause atherosclerosis. The aims of this study was to determine whether there was a correlation of blood sugar levels with the elasticity of coronary arteries. This study is an analytical study with cross sectional design. The population in this study were all patients who visited the Gipateda Tulungagung treatment clinic that was more than 30 years old and female. Through accidental sampling technique, 30 respondents were obtained. The study was conducted from March 1, 2016 to May 1, 2016. Data was collected using a quantum resonance magnetic analyzer (QMRA) to determine the value of blood sugar levels and the value of elasticity of coronary arteries. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by bivariate linear regression tests to determine whether there was a significant correlation of blood sugar levels with the elasticity of coronary arteries. The results showed that the p value is 0.000 < 0.05, which means that there was a significant correlation between blood sugar levels and the elasticity of the coronary arteries. High blood glucose levels can damage the vascular endothelium and also increasing platelet agegrat, so that can resulting atherosclerosis. Every individual should be able to control blood sugar levels with a healthy lifestyle and early detection regularly to prevent the decrease of coronary arteries elasticity because that can lead to coronary heart disease (CHD)

Patients with hemodialysis therapy have uncertainty as to how long hemodialysis is required and should accept the fact that therapy is needed throughout life. Because it appears anxiety response, rejection and anger. ESRD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy, require support from the family. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of family support and economic status with depressed ESRD patients who underwent hemodialysis therapy <1 year. The design of this research is descriptive correlation with cross sectional research method, by using simple random sampling technique with the number of samples of 47 ESRD patients who are undergoing hemodialysis at Gatoel Hospital Mojokerto. The Research done in April 2017. The results obtained most of the respondents have economic ability Above the Provincial Minimum Wage of 27 respondents (57.4%). Most of the respondents stated that they received good family support in 30 categories (63,8%) and most of respondents had light depression 24 respondents (51,1%). Based on statistical test of spearman\u27s rho with significance level α 0,05 obtained result (r) = 0,462 meaning bigger than value signifikansi (0,462> 0,05) hence H1 rejected which mean there is no significant relation between economic status with depression level In ESRD patients and Spearman\u27s rho statistical test results obtained significance value 0.000 <0.05 which means there is a significant relationship between family support with depression levels in ESRD patients. The economic level does not affect depression because the cost of hemodialysis therapy all respondents is covered by health insurance, whereas family support has a positive influence where the better the family support the lighter the depression level in ESRD patients undergoing hemodialysis therap

Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) are babies born with a body weight of less or equal to 2,500 grams. High levels of stress on parents, especially mothers and low levels of competency, show that parents (mothers) still have the right knowledge of caring for LBW babies. This situation affects the mother\u27s behavior in caring for the baby. Kangaroo method is one of the rights and correct efforts to care for LBW babies because this method provides benefits to increase the temperature of LBW infants. The purpose of this study was to improve maternal skills in care for low birth weight babies with an experiential learning Care approach. The research method used queasy experimental with pre-post test design. The stages in this study start from collecting data through the mother\u27s pre-test skills in the care of low birth weight babies, then providing midwifery interventions through Kangaroo Mother Care with the approach of Experiential Learning Care I, II and III. Next post-test was carried out; data analysis was done through Wilcoxon test with the results of p = 0.003 <α = 0.05, meaning that there was an increase in maternal skills in the care of LBW infants with the Experiential Learning Care (ELC) method. The results of this study are expected to be a guide for midwives in midwifery interventions for mothers who have LBW babies. Thus, it will be able to provide maternal skills in the care of LBW babies who are right and correct, so that mothers can care for LBW babies at home properly
