Qualitative Study on HIV/AIDS Prevention in Jombang City
Background: 2022 will see an increase in the number of HIV/AIDS cases in Jombang City, ranking it second in East Java with 1388 PLWHA, 20 cases of mother-to-child HIV transmission during childbirth, 12 HIV (+) cases, 8 AIDS cases, and 100 fatalities. The Independent Practice Midwife (BPM) is the linchpin of a healthcare organization that has the potential to grow into a network of expectant mothers. Midwives are qualified to serve as health educators for expectant women who exhibit habits that increase their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. In a qualitative study in Jombang City, the aim of this study was to determine the program to develop midwives\u27 ability as health educators for expectant mothers in an effort to prevent HIV/AIDS transmission.
Method: This study is qualitative and employs an in-depth interviewing methodology. Up to 8 stakeholders served as primary informants, while 2 NGOs and 10 BPM employees served as secondary informants. analysis of data using the content analysis approach.
Results: Because national guidelines for preventing HIV transmission from mother to newborn have been popularized, stakeholders have implemented a policy that uses standard technical programs for midwifery practice. Midwives have received training in APN, PI, and STIs, but due to funding restrictions, they have never received training in HIV/AIDS counseling. There is no such thing as BPM; only the central IBI does monitoring and assessment, which is done only through monthly reports. The coordination of NGOs, KPAD Regional Child Protection Commission, Public Health Office, The Indonesian Midwives Association, and BPM in the execution of monitoring and evaluation is insufficient, and only IBI is carried out, unplanned, carried out at any moment if it is going to prolong the practice permit. BPM has not yet received special supervision. Coordination amongst stakeholders during the implementation of supervision is insufficient. In an effort to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS, health education facilities for pregnant women in BPM have been provided with posters, flipcharts, and MCH handbooks. There are four VCT clinics and three PMTCT clinics.
Conclusion: Program to improve midwives\u27 abilities as health educators for expectant mothers in an effort to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS at BPM (independent practice midwives) Jombang City. In order to improve coordination between stakeholders (KPAD Regional Child Protection Commission, Public Health Office, and IBI The Indonesian Midwives Association with BPM in monitoring and supervision, train counselors for BPM (independent practice midwives), and have midwives become more motivated to provide IEC and continue to improve professionalism in providing midwifery services, advocacy is required to the Regional/ Legislative Counci
ANALYSIS OF FACTORS RELATED TO THE COMPLETENESS OF TETANUS TOXOID IMMUNIZATION IN TRIMESTER III PREGNANT WOMEN
Tetanus toxoid immunization in third trimester pregnant women is very important to prevent the risk of tetanus infection in newborns. Most cases of neonatal death in developing countries are due to tetanus, and neonatal tetanus is the second leading cause of death worldwide in diseases that can be prevented through vaccination. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization in third trimester pregnant women. This study employed an analytical cross-sectional observational design on pregnant women in the third trimester (n=47) at Puskesmas Karangan in 2023. A total sampling method was used, resulting in a sample of 47 infants. Data collection instruments included questionnaires (primary data) and the PWS KIA book (secondary data). The variables examined were immunization completeness (dependent variable) and knowledge, attitude, and spousal support (independent variables). Data were analyzed using the Chi Square test. The results of univariate analysis showed that the majority of respondents with incomplete TT immunization were 24 (51.1%). The results of the bivariate analysis found a relationship between knowledge and P Value (0.004), mother\u27s attitude P Value (0.025) and husband\u27s support P Value (0.029) with the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization in third trimester pregnant women with a value of α = 0.05. The study highlights the strong influence of maternal knowledge on the completeness of Tetanus Toxoid immunization in pregnant women in the third trimester (P-value=0.004), which is more significant compared to maternal attitude and spousal support. Enhancing maternal knowledge regarding TT immunization is crucial in improving immunization coverage and reducing the risk of tetanus infection in newborns

THE CORRELATION BETWEEN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND STRESS AND THEIR IMPACT ON URIC ACID LEVELS IN OLDER INDIVIDUALS
The elderly population, who are more susceptible to infection and chronic illnesses, are particularly susceptible to gout. The Pakong Health Center Working Area has a high prevalence of gout among the elderly population. The study examines the relationship between physical activity and stress, with uric acid levels as the dependent variable. The study involved 60 patients with gout, with a sample size of 53. The DASS physical activity questionnaire was used to gather data. The results showed that 77% of participants engaged in moderate physical activity, while almost 40% fell into the moderate stress group. The majority of uric acid levels were elevated, with 36 out of 68% being elevated. The Spearman Rank analysis yielded a p-value of 0.005, indicating a correlation between physical activity and uric acid levels in the elderly. Additionally, a p-value of 0.000, indicating a link between stress levels and gout occurrence, suggests that older individuals should enhance their physical activity and manage their nutrition to lower uric acid levels. Additionally, seniors should reduce stress by improving their religious practices, expressing their concerns, and maintaining a positive mindset

- VACCINATION STATUS AND THE SEVERITY OF COVID-19 PATIENTS: -
Introduction: On January 30, 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak was a public health emergency of international concern. At the end of 2022 there was still the spread of COVID-19 even though the pandemic status had changed to endemic. One of the efforts to reduce the risk of being infected with COVID-19 is the provision of vaccines to the community. However, previous studies have shown that some people who have been vaccinated still have confirmed COVID-19 with varying severity and symptoms. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between vaccination status and the severity of COVID-19.
Method: This quantitative research with a retrospective cohort study was applied to 92 COVID-19 patients at a secondary hospital in Purbalingga, Central Java, Indonesia recruited by proportional simple random sampling technique. The data were collected from the medical records of COVID-19 patients from May to August 2021. The severity and symptoms of COVID-19 were determined based on the guidelines of the National Institutes of Health which include asymptomatic infection, mild symptoms, moderate symptoms, severe symptoms, and critical. The collected data were analyzed using the Fisher’s Exact test.
Results: Of the 92 respondents, there were 49 (53.35%) male patients and the most comorbid was diabetes mellitus with a total of 28 (30.4%) patients. Respondents who have not been vaccinated are 64 (69.6%) patients. Patients with a high severity level of COVID-19 were more frequently found among respondents who had not been vaccinated, 54 (58.7%). There is a relationship between vaccination status and the severity of COVID-19 (p = 0.000). The public is advised to complete the vaccine status that has been facilitated by the government.
