Water for Living in Southern Kazakstan
The usage and quality of water for living were investigated in southern Kazakstan. Waterworks were created in urban areas of the region. In rural areas (Aralsk and Tastubek), piped water was used only for driving and cooking, and well water was used for washing and showers. Also piped water and well water in the region had a high concentration of SO_4^-^2 and contained NH_4^+. The value of EC was low in piped water in Almaty. The water in Shymkent and Turkistan showed comparatively low EC and a higher concentration of Ca^+^2 than Na^+, although the water in Qyzlorda contained a higher content of Na^+ rather than Ca^+^2. The salt accumulation has caused contamination of groundwater and river water in the region.8KJ00007773139研究ノートResearch Notejournal articl
Comparison between the self-evaluation of student and the facility evaluation on the food service management practice at the facilities (off-campus practice)
We compared the student evaluation and the facility evaluation on the food service management practice at the facilities (off-campus practice). The results were as follows.(1)Overall, both results of the student and the facility showed high evaluation.(2)The items which show high evaluation on the both results of the student and the facility are Item5 "attendance and leaving", Item6 "dress and appearance", and Item1 "Thorough preparation (submission assignment, visiting the facility in advance)". There was no significant difference in the both result.(3)The items which show significant differences between the student evaluation and the facility evaluation were Item3 "attitude about practice (learning attitude, accurate representations of opinion)", Item4 "attention on preparation (sanitary control, concentration on work, confirmation of unclear points, prevention of injuries and accidents)".(4)The average score which was graded on a 4-point scale on the evaluation results was 3.0 or more for the most items. The facility evaluation showed higher scores than the student evaluation.17KJ00007772739論文journal articl
Intercultural Exchange and Communication Initiatives from the Perspective of Multicultural Coexistence -As Told by a Foreign Student Adviser Part 2-
In order for foreign students in Japan to be able to enjoy productive study and personal life and avoid what is known as social loneliness, it is necessary for them to be able to maintain their own identities, whilst at the same time feeling accepted by Japanese society and the local community. In order to escape from conditions of emotional loneliness, it is necessary for them to be able to secure meaningful friendships that transcend cultural differences in order to share both good times and periods of loneliness and hardship. In this paper, I will discuss some initiatives taken at Suzuka International University that allow exchange students to engage in meaningful cultural exchange activities and overcome such social conditions. Results obtained from questionnaires given to participants in both the "Student Regional Dispatch Program" and the "International Club" will be analyzed from a multicultural coexistence perspective in order to identify which dimensions of these exchanges proved valuable to students, the university and thelocal community. These results will then be utilized to offer a new vision of intercultural exchange and suggest issues for further research.10KJ00007773219研究ノートResearch Notejournal articl

Language in a Japanese University Community
Language use in Japan is highly complex. Speakers rely on finely tuned awareness of numerous conditions while engaging in communication, often adapting different levels of politeness within a single dialogue. These conditions can include location of communication, purpose of communication, and relative status of theother person -based on age, years of seniority or junior status, and membership or non-membership in a group. The university, with its numerous status makers, such as ranking of professors, division of students into separate years and student membership in additional groups, such as sports teams, provides an ideal environment to observe all the levels of linguistic politeness. For those students with less polished linguistic skills, it is proposed that the university is also an ideal environment for them to learn how to master linguistic politeness. By learning how to speak appropriately to people with different status levels in the university community students can gain a valuable linguistic skill that will help them in the post-university world of employment.12KJ00007773259研究論文Research Paperjournal articl

A Study on the Directors' Duty in the Companies Act of Australia
Australian law inherited and evolved from the British law, the company law is no exception. However, the Companies Act of Australia also absorbed the United States law later. It's similar with Japan from this perspective. The Companies Act of Japan requires the director's liability for Damages of Officers, and the Companies Act of Australia provides an obligation of the directors to prevent insolvent trading, both have the legal effect to protect creditors of the company. This paper gives a more comprehensive introduction on the director's duty in the Companies Act of Australia, and conducts a preliminary study.13KJ00007772580論文journal articl
