The Role of Local Wisdom in Shaping the Multicultural Character of Elementary School Students
Abstract
Multicultural education in elementary schools plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character from an early age, particularly through the integration of local wisdom. This study explores the role of local wisdom in shaping the multicultural character of students at MI Mamba’ul Ulum, Curahputih, Tegalwangi Village, Umbulsari District, Jember. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and students; observations of learning processes and extracurricular activities; and school documentation analysis. Data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman’s model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that local wisdom, such as values of mutual cooperation, tolerance, togetherness, and respect for differences, was effectively integrated into both classroom learning and non-formal activities. Students demonstrated positive development in appreciating diversity, both in classroom interactions and in their daily lives. These findings are consistent with recent studies emphasizing the importance of local wisdom–based education in strengthening multicultural attitudes. MI Mamba’ul Ulum has successfully utilized local cultural values as contextual educational media that are relevant to students’ needs and aligned with the demands of globalization.

Nurturing Religious Souls in Public Schools: The Meaning of Religious Extracurricular Activities for Students’ Spiritual Intelligence
This study examines the development of students’ spiritual intelligence through religious extracurricular activities in a public-based Islamic elementary school. The research was conducted at MI Bustanul Ulum 09 Curah Lele Balung using a qualitative Phenomenoapproach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation involving ten participants, consisting of one principal, three teachers supervising religious extracurricular activities, and six actively involved students. The data were analyzed using interactive techniques of data reduction, data display, and verification. The findings indicate that religious extracurricular activities such as tahfidz, yasinan, collective dhuha prayer, and Islamic storytelling function not only as routine religious practices but also as experiential learning processes that foster students’ spiritual intelligence. Students demonstrate increased sincerity, discipline, empathy, and religious awareness through sustained participation. Teachers play a central role as spiritual mentors (murabbi) by modeling values and facilitating reflective dialogue, while parental and community involvement strengthens value consistency between school and home. This study implies that religious extracurricular programs should be managed as integral components of character and spiritual education rather than supplementary activities. Strategically integrating reflective practices into these programs can enhance their transformative impact on students’ spiritual development. Future research is recommended to involve a larger number of participants and diverse school settings, as well as to employ longitudinal or mixed-method approaches to examine the long-term effects of religious extracurricular activities on students’ spiritual intelligence

The instrument in this research was to use a questionnaire. Researchers used the Chi Square test with a confidence level of 95% or a significance level of 5%. Research Results: The results of statistical tests on the relationship between knowledge and conscious compliance showed a P value = 0.029. The relationship between motivation and conscious compliance obtained a P value = 0.000. The relationship between support from health workers and awareness of compliance was found to have a P value = 0.007. Conclusions and Suggestions: There is a relationship between knowledge, motivation and support of health workers with conscious compliance in breast tumor patients at the Bhayangkara Brimob Hospital Surgical Clinic. Suggestions for hospitals to create educational classes for patients, especially women of childbearing age, to be aware of early detection of breast tumor
EVALUATION OF INPATIENT SATISFACTION WITH NURSING SERVICES AT PURUK CAHU REGIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL
Patient satisfaction is a critical indicator for assessing the quality of nursing services in hospitals, particularly in general surgery wards, where high-quality services can enhance recovery and reduce complications. In Indonesia, research on patient satisfaction in general surgery wards is limited, while patient visitation rates continue to rise annually. Therefore, understanding the factors influencing patient satisfaction is essential for improving nursing services. This study aims to evaluate the inpatient satisfaction levels with nursing services in the general surgery ward of Puruk Cahu Regional General Hospital. The research design is a descriptive quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach, involving all patients hospitalized in the general surgery ward during the study period. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire adapted from the five Servqual dimensions: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The data analysis technique used is univariate descriptive to understand the distribution of patient satisfaction levels. The results show that the assurance and empathy dimensions have the highest satisfaction levels, while tangibles received the lowest scores, indicating a need for improvement in the hospital's physical facilities. Overall, most patients are satisfied with the services provided, but there is still a need for improvements in certain aspects to enhance the patient experience. In conclusion, patient satisfaction with nursing services in the general surgery ward of Puruk Cahu Regional General Hospital is generally good, with a need for improvement in the tangibles and communication dimensions. These findings are expected to serve as a foundation for hospital management to enhance the quality of nursing services through facility improvements and enhanced communication skills of the nursing staff
THE IMPACT OF ACCESS TO DENTAL SERVICE ON PUBLIC HEALTH: A LITERATURE REVIEW
Access to dental services is critical in determining public health status, yet significant disparities persist, especially in remote areas. This literature review explores the impact of limited access to dental care on public health. The review methodology involved analyzing recent studies addressing the various factors—economic, geographical, and social determinants—influencing access to dental services in different communities. The results indicate that individuals with restricted access to dental care are more prone to oral diseases, which can lead to a decline in overall health and quality of life. Furthermore, these communities often face higher treatment costs due to the need for more complex procedures when issues are untreated for extended periods. The findings highlight that limited access to dental services increases the burden on healthcare systems and exacerbates inequalities in health outcomes. In conclusion, improving access to dental services, particularly in underserved and rural areas, is essential to mitigate the negative effects of oral diseases, reduce healthcare costs, and improve public health outcomes in the long term. Addressing these disparities is crucial for promoting equitable health opportunities for all

ANALYSIS OF ADOLESCENT REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS LEVEL IN OGAN ILIR REGENCY
All adolescents are entitled to access reproductive health services that are appropriate to their developmental stage, both through formal and non-formal education. Preliminary findings indicate that students generally lack adequate knowledge of reproductive health, with limited information provided both at school and within the family. Teachers report that students tend to feel embarrassed or consider discussions on marriage and reproductive health to be taboo. This study aims to analyze the implementation of adolescent reproductive health education programs at the senior high school level in Ogan Ilir Regency, Indonesia. This qualitative study employed in-depth interviews with teachers, community health center personnel, and family planning counselors, along with two key informants, four student focus group discussions (FGDs) and document analysis. The findings reveal that all schools have made efforts to implement adolescent reproductive health education through teacher-led instruction, the Youth Care Health Services (Pelayanan Kesehatan Peduli Remaja/PKPR) program, and the Youth Information and Counseling Center (Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja/PIK-R) initiative. However, personnel involved in these programs require further training to enhance their knowledge and competencies. While implementation guidelines are available, several adjustments are often made during practice. Key challenges identified include limited budget allocations, insufficient facilities and resources, and restricted accessibility for some adolescents. Although reproductive health education through teacher instruction, PKPR, and PIK-R programs provides significant benefits for adolescents, further efforts are needed to optimize their implementation and outreach
