Topical Minocycline Induced Bluish Black Hyperpigmentation in Acne Vulgaris Patient: The First Case Report of Topical Application: The First Case Report of Topical Application
Minocycline induced hyperpigmentation is an aesthetically unsetting adverse drug event. Oral minocycline inducing hyperpigmentation is common course, keeping in line with this topical minocycline 4% was formulated. A moderately built woman diagnosed with acne was prescribed with topical minocycline 4% Gel and after 15 days of application she noticed dark patches on applied areas which progressed into macules. On examination, it was found that the topical minocycline has induced Type I (Bluish Black) Hyperpigmentation. To the best of clinician’s knowledge, the drug was withdrawn and observed over a period of month. Post-withdrawal for 30-days the skin started to regain its original tone. Regardless of the fact that the topical formulation has been designed to reduce the drug contact with the systemic circulation and to decrease the side-effects, will the formulation succeed in providing the effective and safe therapy in acne patients?

Biopharmaceutical distribution and pharmacodynamic evaluation of intra nasal in-situ gel of Lamotrigine for brain targeted drug delivery
Background: The present research investigates the nasal delivery of Lamotrigine by incorporating it into a natural in-situ gelling system. Additionally, the retention of the drug in the nasal cavity was enhanced by employing the natural mucoadhesive polymer locust bean gum (LBG). A preliminary investigation was conducted to determine the optimal concentration of gellan gum. The dosage of the drug was calculated using the Robinson Erikson equation. The central composite design was utilized to optimize the influence of individual variables such as gellan gum and locust bean gum on various responses, including gelation time, gel viscosity, mucoadhesive strength, and the time taken for the drug to release half of its initial concentration (t50). The goal of the current study was to evaluate the in-vivo effectiveness of intra nasal in-situ gel of Lamotrigine.
Methodology: The pharmacokinetic and tissue distribution studies were carried out to evaluate the brain targeting efficiency of lamotrigine. Blood samples and tissues of various vital organs like brain, liver, kidneys and heart were obtained at different time intervals, plasma and tissue concentration of Lamotrigine was estimated by reverse phase HPLC.
Results: According to the pharmacokinetic analysis, Cmax and AUC0-α is found to be significantly more (P<0.05) for nasal route compared to oral route. In comparison to the oral route, Cmax and AUC0-α was 7 and 6.5 folds more for IN route. The absolute bioavailability was found to be 159.07%. with regard to the oral group, minimal drug was present in any of the other tissue samples. In the pharmacodynamic data also the formulation through nasal route showed a significant difference compared to oral route (pure drug suspension) delivery in PTZ induced study.

Cystic Lesion of the Adrenal Gland: A Case Report
Background: Cystic lesions in the adrenal glands are infrequent and unusual occurrences, with only a handful of cases documented thus far. These lesions come in various types, exhibiting diverse origins and sharing similar clinical presentations, ranging from benign to potentially malignant cystic growths. Typically, they do not cause symptoms, but in some rare instances, they may lead to abdominal discomfort or a sense of fullness. Due to their rarity, there is ongoing debate surrounding the most effective approach for managing adrenal cysts.
Case Presentation: This case report presents a case of a 36-year-old female who presented with a history of abdominal pain and was incidentally found to have a right adrenal cyst during a CT scan. She exhibited no additional symptoms, such as hypertension, headache, or palpitations. Laparoscopic right adrenalectomy was performed, successfully removing the cystic mass without complications. Preoperative laboratory tests, including endocrine function tests, were unremarkable. Imaging studies, including ultrasound and contrast-enhanced CT, characterized the cyst as a large, well-circumscribed, low-attenuated structure with peripheral calcifications, distinct from the right suprarenal gland. Gross examination revealed a collapsed cyst measuring 7 x 3 cm with a smooth inner wall, and the right adrenal gland measured 4 x 2.5 cm. The histological analysis identified the lesion as an adrenal pseudocyst with a fibrous wall containing focal dystrophic microcalcifications and embedded adrenocortical cells. No endothelial lining, eosinophils, or parasites were present. The patient\u27s postoperative course was uneventful, and she was discharged in stable condition the following day.
Conclusion: This case demonstrates the effective management of a large adrenal pseudocyst through laparoscopic adrenalectomy, resulting in a successful outcome without complications. Comprehensive imaging and histopathological evaluation were crucial in confirming the diagnosis and guiding treatment.

One of the most frequent problems that patients bring to a dental clinic is pain in the orofacial region or within the tooth. To identify and solve the issue, a proficient practitioner needs to be equipped with the necessary information and resources. Comprehending the history of pain control in dentistry can provide valuable understanding into the development of the present techniques. Newer and more effective pain management treatments have been created as dentistry continues to advance. Several modalities have been developed to reduce and eliminate this, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment modalities. The goal of the present review of the literature\u27s findings is to provide dentists with reliable information regarding the application of contemporary local anesthetics, alternative methods, and strategies to reduce pain during anesthesia administration, thereby improving patient comfort.

Antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of protein hydrolysates from shrimp shell wastes, germinated soybean and pigeon pea flour blends: A mixture response surface methodology approach
Cancer has high prevalence rate and mortality with conventional chemotherapy and other management protocols being both expensive and inaccessible especially in low/medium income countries (LMIC). Sourcing alternative cheaper and easily accessible treatment from blends of antioxidants sources can reduce the burden of cancer on patients. This work therefore seeks to produce a blend from the protein hydrolysates of shrimp shell waste, germinated soybean and germinated pigeon pea which not only has high antioxidant activity but also can inhibit cervical cancer cell proliferation. In vitro antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of the mixtures of germinated pigeon pea, germinated soybean, and shrimp shell waste hydrolysates were evaluated using the mixture response surface methodology (MRSM). Fourteen blends were obtained using the simplex centroid design. Total phenolic content (TPC), 2, 2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and % cytotoxicity of the samples were analysed. Numerical optimization was conducted with the goal of simultaneously maximizing the DPPH scavenging activity and TPC while minimizing % cytotoxicity. The optimized blend consisted of 91.06 % pigeon pea, 8.94 % shrimp shell waste and 0 % soybean. The predicted responses obtained were 74.28 % DPPH scavenging activity, 39.6 GAE mg/dL TPC and 21 % cytotoxicity. The IC50 values for the optimized blend and a standard chemotherapeutic drug were 0.260 mmol/mL and 0.013 mmol / mL respectively. This in vitro study revealed that the pigeon pea - shrimp shell waste blend, as generated by MRSM, was comparable to a standard anticarcinogenic drug with respect to potency.

Stabilization of the pharmaceutical finished dosages form by using various techniques
The stabilization of pharmaceuticals means that the drug product is physically, chemically and microbiologically stable at the recommended storage condition throughout the predefined shelf life of the product. Pharmaceutical formulations irrespective of its physical states have been used for their efficacy and safety so for as its therapeutic activity is concern. Stability of dosage forms is the ability of drugs to remains unaffected by environmental condition viz. temperature, humidity and microbiological contamination. This research work is an attempt to stabilize the drug product at controlled room temperature for the drug product which is stable at refrigerated storage condition. Hence the aim of present study was development and stabilization of the drug product at room temperature. Investigation of alternate manufacturing processes for stabilization of the drug product at controlled room temperature was one of the objectives of the work.

A Review of Darchini (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) in Unani Medicine with Therapeutic Benefits and other Pharmacological potential
Darchini (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) is a bark of a cinnamon plant that belongs to the Lauraceae family. Cinnamon is a rich tasting and aromatic spice used by different cultures worldwide. Recently, many phytochemicals were discovered and obtained from Darchini. Numerous experimental research using these phytochemical components have established several therapeutic actions. In addition, it possesses useful medicinal properties and is considered a remedy for indigestion, flatulency, depletion of innate heat, respiratory diseases, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. A manual literature search of classical Unani manuscripts was carried out to acquire information on temperament (Mizaj), pharmacological activities and medicinal applications of Darchini. In addition, all accessible material on phytochemical, physiochemical and pharmacological studies have been collected using an extensive review of internet sources such PubMed, Google Scholar and Science Direct. The aim of this review article is to further highlight the discovered pharmacological effect and medicinal values of Cinnamomum zeylanicum as per the Unani literature as well as scientific research. Based on scientific studies regarding its phytochemical components, it is beneficial for various ailments. Darchini also has a beneficial effect on some gynaecological disorders such as amenorrhoea, dysmenorrhoea, leucorrhoea, menorrhagia, prolapse, and vaginosis. However, there is need to conduct experimental and clinical study to validate their effectiveness and safety in humans.

Comparative study of Candidiasis among Single and Married women at Rwanda Military Hospital
Background: Genital tract is the portal of entry for numerous sexually and non-sexually transmitted diseases. A number of bacterial and non-bacterial infections exist that affect the female reproductive tract and cause vaginal discharge. Candida species are among important opportunistic pathogens causing candidiasis in human worldwide. These yeast species are of public health concern nowadays.
Aim: This study aimed at comparing the prevalence of candidiasis among single and married women attending Rwanda Military Hospital. The study population comprises of single and married women.
Methodology: This was a retrospective study where data was collected from Rwanda Military Hospital.
Results: The results of this study showed that the incidence of candidiasis was higher in married women when compared with single women. The prevalence of candidiasis in married women was 128(74.4%), while in single women is 44(25.6%). It was observed in this study that the distribution of candidiasis among married and single is statistically significant (p<0.05). Results also show that out of 172 single and married women, more cases of candidiasis were observed within the age range of 21-30 years, 66 (44.2%) were infected with candida albicans, 31-40 years had a prevalence of 55(32%) and 11-20 years had a prevalence of 13(7.6%). The overall of cases of candida other than C. albicans observed was 15.1%.
Conclusion: This study showed that married and single women are predisposed to candidiasis. It is therefore important to give opportunistic pathogens like Candida species attention in women especially among married ones as they are mostly affected by this candidiasis.

A Review on Microspheres as a Promising Drug Carrier
The targeted drug delivery is designed for endeavouring to concentrate the drug in the tissues of curiosity while reducing relative concentration of medication in the remaining tissues. There for drug is localized on the targeted site. Hence, surrounding tissues are not affected by the drug. Controlled drug delivery systems can overcome the issues associated with conventional medication therapy and improve a drug\u27s therapeutic efficacy. Microspheres are free-flowing powders made of proteins or synthetic polymers with particle sizes ranging from 1 to 1000 µm. The multiplicity of techniques for preparing microspheres provides numerous chances to manage elements of drug administration and improve the therapeutic efficacy of a certain medicine. There are several techniques for delivering a medicinal chemical to the target region in a prolonged controlled release manner. Microspheres contain a drug encased in a unique polymeric membrane, making them ideal for novel drug delivery strategies such as diseased cell sorting, diagnostics, gene and genetic materials, safe and effective in vivo delivery, and supplements as miniature versions of diseased organs and tissues.
