Background: The interaction between mothers and premature babies in the early period of oral feeding is beneficial for forming social, cognitive, and emotional development. It is essential to assess maternal interactions with premature babies using valid and reliable instruments. However, culturally adapted tools in the Indonesian context remain limited, making localized validation efforts crucial. This research was to analyze the translation and adaptation process of the Indonesian version of MIRI.Methods: The translation and adaptation process followed standard procedures, including forward translation, expert panel review, back translation, pilot testing, and finalization of the instrument. The process involved collaboration with the International Language Institute and experts in pediatric nursing, neonatology, and nutrition. A pilot test was conducted with 30 mothers of premature infants who were receiving care in a neonatal intensive care unit. The evaluation focuses on content validity and reliability of the translation instruments. Results: The translation and adaptation results showed I-CVI between 0.67 to 1.00. The MIRI S-CVI results for all items were 0.91 in the excellent category. The reliability test on mothers showed a Cronbach\u27s Alpha value of 0.74 in the valid and reliable category. Items with lower I-CVI scores were reviewed and refined based on expert feedback to enhance clarity and cultural relevance. Furthermore, participants reported that the questionnaire items were clear and relevant to their experiences during oral feeding interactions with their premature infants. Conclusions: The Indonesian version of the MIRI demonstrates strong validity and reliability for assessing maternal interaction with premature infants during oral feeding. The instrument can be effectively utilized in both research settings and clinical practice, particularly in neonatal intensive care environments where understanding maternal-infant interaction is crucial for supporting early developmental outcomes

Background: Labor pain may induce maternal anxiety, interfere with uterine contractions, and prolong the birthing process. Music therapy is a non-pharmacological intervention known to mitigate both labor pain and anxiety. Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of Javanese-traditional (Karawitan instrumental) and classical music therapies on anxiety, labor pain, and the duration of the first and second stages of labor. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted involving 201 mothers undergoing normal labor at primary healthcare centers. Participants were assigned into three groups: Javanese-traditional music (Karawitan instrumental), classical music, and a control group practicing deep breathing. Interventions lasted 40 minutes. Anxiety was measured using the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, pain intensity with a visual analog scale, and labor duration through partograph analysis. Statistical tests included paired t-test, Wilcoxon signed-rank, Kruskal-Wallis, one-way ANOVA, and Mann-Whitney U testsResults: Both music interventions significantly reduced anxiety and pain within groups (p-value< 0.001). No significant difference in pain reduction was found between the two music groups during the first active phase (p-value= 0.108). Similarly, anxiety scores did not differ significantly between the music groups post-intervention (p-value= 0.956), though classical music showed a slightly greater reduction. Regarding labor duration, Javanese-traditional music was associated with a shorter first stage, while classical music significantly reduced the duration of the second stage (p-value= 0.000 and p-value= 0.035, respectively). Conclusions: Javanese-traditional (Karawitan instrumental) and classical music therapies are both effective in reducing maternal anxiety and labor pain while supporting labor progress. Javanese-traditional (Karawitan instrumental) music demonstrated greater effectiveness during the first stage, whereas classical music offered benefits in anxiety reduction and second-stage labor duratio

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0–6 months provides major health benefits, yet many mothers struggle to maintain it due to low motivation. “Hypnolactation,†which combines hypnosis to build confidence and reduce anxiety, with lactation massage to stimulate milk flow, may serve as an effective holistic care intervention. Objectives: This study develops an innovative holistic care model incorporating hypnolactation and lactation massage to enhance maternal motivation for exclusive breastfeeding. Methods: This quasi-experimental study used a pretest–posttest control group design with 42 postpartum mothers at Kagok Health Center, Semarang (March–December 2024). Data were collected using a validated breastfeeding motivation questionnaire and observation sheets. Statistical analysis employed the Wilcoxon test and the independent t-test.Results: Both hypnolactation (Z = –2.33, p = 0.02) and lactation massage (Z = –2.00, p = 0.046) significantly improved maternal motivation, with hypnolactation showing greater effectivenessConclusions: The findings demonstrate that the holistic care model combining hypnolactation and lactation massage significantly improves maternal motivation for exclusive breastfeeding. This intervention effectively addresses psychological barriers such as anxiety and lack of confidence while also providing physical comfort that facilitates the breastfeeding process. Future studies should expand the sample size and evaluate the long-term impact on exclusive breastfeeding success up to six months

Background: Postpartum depression is a major maternal mental health concern that remains insufficiently addressed in rural areas such as Malaka District, East Nusa Tenggara, where structural and social vulnerabilities may heighten psychological risks. Limited evidence from these settings underscores the need to understand the contextual determinants influencing maternal mental health. Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between family support, sociodemographic characteristics, and the risk of postpartum depression among mothers in Malaka District. Methods: This cross-sectional analytic study involved 100 postpartum mothers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that included demographic characteristics, a family support scale, and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). Statistical analyses comprised descriptive tests, chi-square tests, and multivariate logistic regression. Results: The results indicated that 40% of participants were at risk of postpartum depression (EPDS ≥13), and more than half (55%) experienced inadequate family support. Bivariate analysis revealed a significant association between family support and postpartum depression (p=0.001). Multivariate logistic regression demonstrated that inadequate family support was the strongest predictor of postpartum depression, with affected mothers having 3.8 times higher odds of developing depression (AOR 3.8; 95% CI: 1.7–8.3). Low maternal education was also a significant predictor (AOR 2.5; 95% CI: 1.1–5.8), whereas maternal age and employment status were not associated with depression risk. Conclusions: These findings emphasize the critical role of family involvement and maternal education in mitigating postpartum mental health problems. Strengthening the active participation of husbands and family members, improving maternal mental health literacy, and integrating family-centered approaches into antenatal and postnatal care are essential steps for reducing the burden of postpartum depression in Malaka District

Analisis sifat fisik hardness, cohesiveness, gumminess elasticity, and adhesiveness masing-masing 3406,8-4228,4 g/mm, 0,4 g/mm, 1106,4-1560 g/mm, 6,6-8,7 g/mm, and 0,4-0,9 mj. KATA KUNCI: brownies; ikan gabus; mocaf; pangan lokal; PMT-AS ABSTRACTBackground:  Snack consumption patterns are part of eating patterns. Brownies are a popular high-energy food because they have a delicious and sweet taste. They are a type of chocolate cake with a dense texture that is not hollow and is not very soft because brownies do not require a developer or gluten. Therefore, brownies can be made from mocap flour. However, the protein content in mocap flour is low, so it is necessary to add protein sources such as snakehead fish (Channa striata) to increase nutritional value. Objectives: This research aims to analyze the proximate levels, physical characteristics, and sensory characteristics of brownies by adding snakehead fish. Methods: Experimental research using a completely randomized design to examine proximate levels and physical and sensory characteristics. The concentration of snakehead fish consists of 4 treatment levels (0 g, 60 g, 80 g, and 100 g.). Statistical analysis using One-Way ANOVA and Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT).Results: Mocaf brownies with the addition of snakehead fish have a water content of 39.2%-48.7%, ash content of 1.4-1.5%, protein content of 7.7-17.7%, fat content of 32.9-35.4%, and carbohydrate content of 9.4-22.2%.
