Effect of ADEEM methods (Assess, Do Massage Frirage, Exercise ROM, Evaluation, Making Schedule) on increasing muscle strength upper extremity of ischemic stroke patients at RSU GMIM Pancaran Kasih Manado
Background : A stroke is when the blood supply to part of the brain stops, causing an inability to carry out central nervous system (CNS) tasks. In stroke patients, 70-80% experience hemiparesis (muscle weakness) as a result of motor neuron disorders. The ADEEM method as a rehabilitation intervention for post-stroke patients aims to increase muscle strength consisting of Asses, Do Massage Frirage, Exercise ROM, Evaluation & Making Schedule. Objectives : This study aims to determine the effect of the ADEEM Method on increasing muscle strength in ischemic stroke patients. Methods : The type of research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental design of one group pre post test. The population of this study was ischemic stroke patients with a stroke duration of > 3 months as many as 37 respondents. Respondents were given the ADEEM Method intervention for 45 minutes with meetings 2-3 times a week for 2 weeks. The instrument used to assess muscle strength is the Manual Muscle Test Observation Sheet. The validity and reliability tests of the instruments obtained reliability coefficient values of α > 0.63 to 0.98 for individual muscle groups, and α > 0.57 to 1.0 for total MMT scores. The validity value of MMT showed r = 0.768 (>0.05).Results : This study was analyzed using univariate analysis (frequency distribution) and bivariate analysis (saphiro wilk normality test and Wilcoxon test) with significance. Wilcoxon test results obtained Ï value <0.05 (0.003), this means that there is an effect of the ADEEM Method on increasing muscle strength in ischemic stroke patients. Conclusions : ADEEM method as one of the practical methods to increase muscle strength for ischemic stroke patients. This method can be done by nurses and family members in caring for ischemic stroke patients
Relationship between head nurses\u27 transformational leadership style and attitudes toward reporting patient safety incidents in Hospitals
Background : Patient safety is a top priority in healthcare services to prevent avoidable incidents and reduce the risk of medical errors. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that patient safety incidents are among the top ten leading causes of death and disability worldwide. However, the reporting rate for patient safety incidents remains low, reflecting a weak safety culture in hospitals. One factor influencing healthcare professionals\u27 attitudes toward reporting patient safety incidents is leadership style. Transformational leadership is believed to enhance motivation, proactive behavior, and strengthen the safety culture in hospital settings. Objectives : This study aims to analyze the relationship between head nurses\u27 transformational leadership style and attitudes toward reporting patient safety incidents in the inpatient wards of Kanjuruhan Regional General Hospital, Malang. Methods : This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 154 nurses working in inpatient wards, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) to assess transformational leadership and a questionnaire on attitudes toward patient safety incident reporting. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman Rank correlation test, with a significance level of p < 0.05.Results : The findings revealed that transformational leadership had a mean score of 4.03 (SD = 0.504), while attitudes toward patient safety incident reporting had a mean score of 3.94 (SD = 0.429). Spearman Rank correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship between transformational leadership and attitudes toward patient safety incident reporting (p = 0.000, r = 0.523). This indicates that the higher the implementation of transformational leadership by the head nurse, the more positive the nurses\u27 attitudes toward reporting patient safety incidents. Conclusions : Transformational leadership plays a crucial role in improving attitudes toward patient safety incident reporting and fostering a stronger safety culture in hospitals. Therefore, leadership training for head nurses and the reinforcement of a non-punitive incident reporting system are necessary to enhance healthcare professionals\u27 engagement in incident reporting

The effectiveness of kegel exercise in reducing perineal laceration during vaginal delivery
Background: Perineal laceration is a common complication during vaginal delivery, and its severity may influence maternal recovery and postpartum quality of life. Pelvic floor muscle exercises, including Kegel exercises and Pelvic Floor Muscle Training (PFMT), are believed to enhance perineal elasticity and reduce the risk of laceration. Objective: To assess the effectiveness of Kegel exercises and PFMT in reducing the degree of perineal laceration among postpartum mothers. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a posttest-only nonequivalent control group design was conducted among 60 pregnant women, who were assigned to either an intervention group (antenatal exercises with PFMT) or a control group. The degree of perineal laceration was assessed after delivery. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test. Results: The findings indicated a statistically significant difference between the intervention and control groups. The mean degree of perineal laceration was lower in the intervention group (0.77 ± 0.879) than in the control group (1.73 ± 0.583), with a p-value of 0.001 and a t-value of 5.915. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that Kegel exercises and Pelvic Floor Muscle Training (PFMT) are effective in reducing the degree of perineal laceration among postpartum mothers. The intervention group showed significantly lower laceration grades compared to the control group, indicating that these pelvic floor exercises can serve as a beneficial preventive strategy. These findings confirm that Kegel exercises and PFMT meet the study objective by contributing to a measurable reduction in perineal trauma during childbirth
