Enhancing Students' Speaking Performance through Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in the English Matriculation Program
This study addresses the challenge of improving English-speaking skills among Room Division students at Makassar Tourism Polytechnic, crucial for effective communication in hospitality roles. Many students struggle with fluency and confidence due to limited practice and language anxiety. To bridge this gap, the English Matriculation Program (EMP) was developed, integrating Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) to enhance practical language skills. A pre-experimental design was employed with 60 students, who underwent pre- and post-tests, alongside a questionnaire to gather perceptions of the program’s impact. Key CLT elements—social engagement, focus on meaning, and critical thinking—were emphasized, with tasks including role-plays and problem-solving exercises that mimic real-world communication. Structural equation modelling and paired t-tests indicated a significant improvement in speaking performance, with average scores rising from 39.10 to 62.87. Questionnaire results reinforced these findings, with students reporting increased confidence, reduced anxiety, and better fluency. Overall, CLT’s practical, student-centred approach effectively enhances English proficiency, preparing students for successful communication in the hospitality industry
Using Animation Videos in Developing Listening Skills Among Junior High School Students
Listening cannot be underestimated, because listening is an important aspect of communication. In life if someone communicates with others, they must understand what the speaker says in writing and during conversation. This study's objective was to understand how animated videos can enhance individuals' capacity for learning. Pre-tests and post-tests were part of this study's single-group pre-experimental design. The sample was chosen using purposeful sampling. There were seven classes for eighth-grade students. It was from class VIIIA to VIIIG. The total population of class VIII was 220 students. The class selected as the Sample used in this study was class VIIIB, which had 29 students. Test instruments were utilized in this study to gather the score in pre-test and post-test. Twenty fill-in-the-blank and matching questions made up the test. To determine whether using animated video content enhanced students' listening skills, a paired sample t-test was used in the data analysis. The tests outcomes were compared in this investigation. Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) and H0 (Null Hypothesis) were hypotheses in this investigation. The average scores differed significantly, the study's findings. 56.96 was the pre-test score, while the post-test score was 69.96. The significance level was marginally below 0.05, as indicated by the paired sample t-test statistical analysis results, which were significant (two tails) at 0.030. In the end, Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Therefore, watching animated films helps children improve their ability to interact with others
The Impact of Student-Teacher Relationships toward English-Speaking Performance
This study investigated how student–teacher relationships relate to English-speaking performance among 154 second-year students at MAN 1 Ogan Ilir. Relationship quality was measured using the 25-item Student–Teacher Relationship Measure (S-TRM) and categorized into Good, Fair, and Poor groups. Speaking performance was assessed through a task on “My Favorite Hobby” using a rubric covering fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar accuracy, and comprehension, with 33 students (11 per group) evaluated. The results showed a moderate, significant correlation between relationship quality and speaking scores (r = 0.450, p = 0.009). ANOVA confirmed significant differences among the groups (F = 5.180, p = 0.012), with the widest gap between the Good and Poor groups. These findings highlight that positive student–teacher relationships contribute to stronger speaking performance, consistent with Vygotsky’s sociocultural view of learning
Peran Suami Dalam Menjaga Kestabilan Emosi Istri Pascamelahirkan Di Desa Teupin Batee Kecamatan Idi Rayeuk
This study aims to understand the role of husbands in maintaining their wives' emotional stability after childbirth in Teupin Batee Village, Idi Rayeuk. The postpartum period is a crucial time with significant physical and emotional changes that can trigger baby blues if not properly addressed. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with interviews, observations, and documentation of five couples selected through purposive sampling. The results show that emotional support from husbands, such as attention, listening to complaints, creating a comfortable atmosphere, and involvement in child-rearing, has a positive impact on the wife’s emotional stability. However, some husbands are not aware of the importance of this role until they receive education from family members or healthcare providers. Factors influencing husbands' involvement include knowledge, culture, religion, occupation, and emotional management skills. These findings support previous studies that husbands' support reduces the risk of baby blues and improves family harmony
Development of Augmented Reality-Based Flashcard Instructional Media for Natural Science Learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah
Natural Science instruction at the elementary level of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah frequently encounters difficulties in delivering abstract concepts effectively, compounded by limited use of interactive media and consequent low student motivation. Therefore, this study aimed to develop and evaluate Augmented Reality (AR)-based flashcard learning media as an innovative solution to enhance student interest and conceptual understanding in elementary science education. The research employed a Research & Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE framework, which includes needs analysis, product design, product development, implementation, and evaluation. The findings indicate that the developed media positively influence students’ interest in Natural Sciences learning. This was demonstrated by post-test scores that were higher than pre-test scores, showing an improvement in students’ knowledge before and after the implementation of the augemented reality-based flashcard media.

This study explores the actualization of Tahfidz Al-Qur'an learning management in the Tarbiyatul Qur'an Lawang Islamic Boarding School, focusing on internal and external factors influencing its effectiveness. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation. These approaches enhance the quality and quantity of memorization while maintaining student motivation and discipline. Notably, teacher responsibilities are carefully divided based on experience and expertise, with students grouped according to their memorization level, ensuring personalized and efficient learning. This research highlights critical supporting factors, such as parental involvement and strong self-motivation among students, while also addressing challenges like psychological pressure and inconsistent external support. Unlike previous studies, which primarily examined general educational management, this study delves deeply into the unique contextual factors shaping Tahfidz learning in Islamic Boarding School. The findings contribute a novel perspective on optimizing Islamic boarding school education, particularly by proposing structured and adaptive strategies that balance traditional memorization techniques with modern pedagogical practices. The implications of this research extend beyond the specific context of Islamic Boarding School Tahfidz Qur’an Tarbiyatul Qur'an, offering valuable insights for Islamic boarding schools worldwide facing similar challenges. Future research is recommended to explore the integration of technological tools in Tahfidz learning and the role of psychological support in sustaining student engagement
