How is the Students Acceptance of Collaborative Writing Tools? The Case of Netboard
Get PDFCollaborative learning is an approach to teaching and learning that promotes students’ involvement in a group to solve a problem. This study aims to reveal students’ acceptance of Netboard as an integrated technology tool for a collaborative writing approach, in terms of positive or negative attitudes toward the technology used. To reach the purpose, a quantitative research design was applied with a questionnaire as the main instrument. The researchers collected the data from 58 students in a private university who have experienced the collaborative writing approach in the 2022/2023 academic year. The data was analyzed by calculating the four-point Likert scale and interpreted to find the students’ acceptance. The result of the study indicated a positive attitude toward the utilization of Netboard as a collaborative writing tool. It was described from the affective, behavior, and cognitive aspects. To conclude, integrating a proper technology tool in writing class will be a solution in assisting students’ performance, and this study can be considered as a reference for further research
Perplexity AI on the Writing Efficiency of EFL Students' in Higher Education: Students' Insight
Get PDFPerplexity AI is a powerful machine learning technology that can be utilized to enhance students' writing skills. This study is aimed at investigating the effect of use Perplexed AI in the writing skills process from the perspective of students. This qualitative study employed two primary data collection methods: a modified questionnaire incorporating elements from specific teaching methods or learning approaches and semi-structured interviews. The adapted questionnaire was given to all students in their eighth semester studying English as a Foreign Language (EFL: English as A foreign Language) at a university in North Sumatra Province, and the obtained results include data about how students perceive and navigate the integration of AI in enhancing their writing efficiency within the realm of higher education, as revealed through the perspectives of the students. The results of this research can provide a strong foundation to support the implementation of perplexity artificial intelligence in the context of English language learning at the university level

No full textThe use of teacher-centred learning models and the lack of media utilisation in the mathematics learning process contribute to the low numeracy literacy skills of students. This study aims to determine the effect of the Ethnomathematics-based Realistic Mathematics Education learning model on students' numeracy literacy. This type of research is quantitative research with Quasi Experiment method with Non Equaivalent Posttest Only Group Design. The population in this study was elementary schools in Kaliwadas Village and the samples in this study were class V of Kaliwadas 01 Elementary School as the experimental group and class V of Kaliwadas 03 Elementary School as the control group. The data collection technique used test, observation, and documentation. Data analysis technique used regression test and independent t-test. The result showed that Fcount was 65.89 and Ftable was 4.225 so Fcount > Ftable. From the results of the independent t test, it shows that the tcount is 7.2216 and the ttable is 2.01537 so that the tcount> ttable. It can be said that learning with the ethnomathematics-based RME model affects students' numeracy literacy

Dalam dunia perpustakaan layanan yang memiliki peranan penting dalam perpustakaan sebagai penyedia layanan informasi ialah layanan referensi. Pentingnya literasi informasi menjadi sorotan utama dalam konteks pelayanan referensi, yang mencakup informasi terkait koleksi perpustakaan, layanan, dan kegiatan lainnya. Sebagai penyedia layanan informasi, layanan referensi berkaitan dengan literasi informasi bagi setiap kalangan termasuk bagi anak usia dini. Oleh karena itu peneliti tertarik untuk meneliti terkait bagaimana layanan referensi sebagai literasi informasi bagi anak usai dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan serta membahas layanan referensi sebagai literasi informasi bagi anak usia dini. Metode dalam penelitian ini ialah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah layanan referensi sebagai literasi informasi bagi anak usia dini bertujuan untuk membimbing anak-anak dalam memahami, menggunakan, dan mencari, dan mengevaluasi informasi secara efektif. Bimbingan langsung yang diberikan oleh pustakawan kepada anak bertujuan untuk membimbing mereka secara langsung dalam mencari informasi, memanfaatkan koleksi buku secara efektif, dan merespons pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh anak

No full textIndonesia merupakan negeri kepulaun yang berpotensi mengalami bencana alam. Kondisi geografis tersebut menyebabkan Indonesia rawan terjadi bencana. Salah satu bencana yang dihapi oleh manusia adalah bencana kebakaran. Kebakaran terjadi ketika sebuah struktur, seperti rumah atau lingkungan, pabrik, pasar, dan lain-lain, dilanda api yang mengakibatkan kerusakan dan/atau korban jiwa. Maka sangat penting sebuah istansi memiliki kesiapsiagaan dalam menghadapi becana kebakaran. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami kesiapsiagaan perpustakaan dalam menghadapi bencana kebakaran. Data diperoleh melalui sumber referensi termasuk buku, jurnal, dan makalah ilmiah yang relevan dengan tema mitigasi dan kesiapsiagaan perpustaakaan serta literatur tentang bencana kebakaran. Kegiatan kesiapsiagaan bencana dilakukan secara bertahap, yaitu pencegahan, tanggapan, reaksi, dan pemulihan. Kegiatan tersebut meliputi pemeriksaan bangunan, pemeriksaan alat perlindungan kebakaran, penyediaan audio, pembuatan back-up data, pemberian rute evakuasi, melakukan asuransi, penetapan staf, pelatihan staf, pemeliharaan peralatan, sediakan daftar nama dan organisasi penting, menerbitakan SOP, verifikasi apakah lokasi sudah aman, menetapkan masa penutupan perpustakaan, melakukan pencatatan kerusakan, menempatkan koleksi ditempat aman, pemulihan data, dan analisis SOP yang ada
Analisis Efektifitas Penggunaan Layanan Koleksi Digital pada Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara
No full textThe Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) Library has transitioned to a digital library to meet the literacy and information needs of its students. This study aims to evaluate how well the digital collection services at UINSU Library meet user needs and identify the main challenges faced. The research employs a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as direct interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis is conducted through descriptive analysis methods to determine the effectiveness, barriers, and user satisfaction with the digital collection services at UINSU. The results indicate that the digital collection services are effective in facilitating information access. Overall, users express satisfaction with the ease of access and the wide availability of digital collections. However, users still encounter technical issues, such as slow internet connections with speeds of 2.4 GHz, which affect their information search experience. The study highlights the importance of managing technology and infrastructure adequately to support the library’s digital transformation towards more effective and responsive services to user needs in the digital age. The study concludes that this service provides significant benefits to users scattered across various locations, allowing them to access library collections without having to visit the library in person. Pengaruh Desain Interior terhadap Minat Kunjung Pemustaka di Perpustakaan Tenas Effendy: The Effect of Interior Design on Visitor Interest in Tenas Effendy Library
No full textThis study examines the influence of interior design on the interest of visiting library users in Tenas Effendy Library, a topic that is relevant to increasing library visits in public libraries. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the interior design of the library affects the interest of library visitors. This study used descriptive quantitative method, with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. A total of 97 users were selected as samples through purposive sampling. Data analysis using T test and regression shows that there is a significant influence between interior design and interest in visiting the library, with a significance value of 0.00 <0.05, so that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. The R square value of 0.792 indicates that interior design has an effect of 79.2% on library patron interest, while the remaining 20.8% is influenced by other factors not observed in this study. The findings suggest that interior design has an important role in increasing library visits and has important implications for library space design
Educational Communication Management of Civil Service Police Unit Members In The Community of Kerinci District
No full textThe Civil Service Police Unit carries out service duties as educators and caretakers for the community. Civil Service Police Unit has been seen as tough and rude up to now, but Kerinci Civil Service Police Unit members are tasked with prioritizing human values to make people trust and obey government regulations. This discuss members' communication strategies in educating public, using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study research on the Civil Service Police Unit of Kerinci Regency. Researchers collected data through interviews, observation and documentation involving subjects consisting of members of the Civil Service Police Unit and the community in the Kerinci area. The research results show that the communication strategies for Civil Service Police Unit members include: preparing communicative and supportive members as communicators, conducting briefings, carrying out repressive socialization twice, taking action against people who still violate, providing guidance, and handing over criminal acts to the police. The obstacles faced are unprofessional human resources, indicated by: inappropriate educational background, not having experience in the Civil Service sector, and a lack of training so that they do not control the scope for Civil Service Police Unit and find it difficult to advance. Recommendations to the Regent of Kerinci Regency and Heads of Units to formulate policies to improve Human Resources management starting from recruitment, providing education and training, and improving member welfare
The Principal's Strategy in Implementing Computer Based Testing School Assessment at SMPIT Anak Sholeh Mataram
No full textThis case study research aims to examine and analyze the condition of information and communication technology facilities for implementing Computer Based Testing School Assessment exams, school principal strategies in implementing Computer Based Testing School Assessments, as well as obstacles in implementing School Assessments Computer Based Testing in one of the junior high schools in Mataram City, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of data analysis show that the condition of computer facilities for implementing Computer-based National Exam in schools is inadequate. The principal's strategy in implementing the Computer Based Testing School Assessment includes strategies in the areas of facilities and infrastructure, human resources and student affairs. There are two obstacles in implementing the Computer Based Testing School Assessment that have emerged, namely technical and non-technical obstacles. This highlights the importance of the principal's strategy in ensuring the successful implementation of Computer Based Testing-Based School Assessment
Analysis of the Influence Principal's Ethics Policy on the Quality of Islamic Education at SMPN 2 Bayan
No full textThe aim of this research is to explain the influence of principal policies on the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 2 Bayan. This research uses a quantitative type with an analytical design. The population of this study was all teachers and students of SMPN 2 Bayan and the sample was 10 teachers and 15 students. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Data collection techniques through observation with questionnaire instruments for Islamic education policy and quality. The data analysis technique uses the t test and or F test. The results of the research show that there is an influence of the principal's policy on the quality of Islamic education at SMPN 2 Bayan as seen from the significant value obtained in the t test and F test .000b which is smaller than 0.05. This means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Researchers want to see further whether these influences occur simultaneously or not. To find out, you can use the F test data in the Anova table. The F test is a statistical method used to compare variations between two or more groups of data. The F test is used to see whether the relationship or influence of data occurs simultaneously or not
