Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, documentation and interviews. The sources in this study were the principal and teachers of Pembina Pemenang State Kindergarten, North Lombok. Data were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study show that in implementing a positive discipline program, teacher ethics are needed to be good examples for students. One of the methods applied is the implementation of positive discipline through class beliefs. This is considered very effective in forming the character of students who obey the rules, teachers understand that rules must be enforced fairly but also ensure that each student is treated with respect for their dignity such as being willing to listen to students' opinions. By integrating ethical values into everyday education and ensuring that teaching practices reflect equity and diversity, teachers can create a supportive learning environment for all students. Thus, positive discipline programs are not just about enforcing rules, but also about developing strong, positive student character that will have a long-term positive impact on students and society as a whole

Development of Functional Arabic Grammar (Nahwu) Textbooks Based on Local Wisdom for Arabic Language Students

    No full text
This research is motivated by the assumption that Arabic itself is one of the Semitic language families that is considered difficult to learn, because it has a complex grammar. Likewise, learning resources, teaching materials, textbooks and also nahwu books are known to be traditional, thick, and a little boring because they are only in the form of writing, and less interesting to learn. On the other hand, many students do not know about the local wisdom of the Indonesian nation, because as long as they learn Arabic, they only learn about the language of foreign nations. Therefore, this research aims to develop a Grammatical Arabic Functional textbook based on Local Wisdom for Arabic language learners. The method used in this study is R&D by adopting the Borg and Gall development model. The results of this study in the form of an assessment from experts stated that this book was categorized as very feasible, with a percentage of scores of 83% from material expert validators, and 100% from media expert validators. While the results of field trials stated that this textbook was able to improve student learning outcomes, which can be seen from the pre-test results of 50.4 and post-test scores of 85.2. So it is known that there is a difference of 34.8 which shows a significant increase. Therefore this textbook is able to improve understanding of the Arabic language, especially nahwu

Contemporary Interpretation with Classical Insight: Gender View of Al-Shanqiti's Tafsir Adwa' Al-Bayan

    No full text
Classical and contemporary interpreters have different insights into the interpretation of the Quran, especially on gender issues. As a contemporary interpreter, Al-Shanqiti's interpretation is unique in involving periodizations and complex social settings. This article aims to examine the interpretation of the Qur'an al-Shanqiti in its Tafseer adwa' al-Bayan. Al-Shanqity's interpretation is studied with the type of literature research through al-Shanqiti's interpretation data, especially related to gender issues which are briefly compared with other contemporary gender interpretations. This article uses a descriptive-content analysis method with primary research data, namely: Tafsir Adwa' al Bayan. The article finds that, as a contemporary scholar, al-Shanqity directed his interpretation to classical insights because of its orientation that adapted to the social setting in which he lived. These results conclude a more general conclusion that if the social orientation of the interpreter refers tovm the classical context, then the resulting interpretation also has classical nuances even though he lives in the contemporary era. So it can be understood that interpretation is a representation of the orientation and social setting of the interpreter. This article explains further research about the different interpretations of the Qur'an so that it becomes a basis for identifying cross-epoch interpretation products with their respective characters, orientations, and social settings

    No full text
The relationship between Islam and the Bugis society is strongly intertwined through traditions that last for generations. One such tradition is makkatte’ or female circumcision “patuk ayam†performed by the Bugis community in Jayapura. This tradition is interpreted as a religious commandment derived from the hadits. This article examines this tradition and its motives from a living hadits perspective to find a correlation between local wisdom and Islamic values. The research employs a descriptive-qualitative method, drawing data from documentation, observation, and interviews within a phenomenological framework. Utilizing Alfred Schutz’s concept of motive in phenomenology, data is categorized based on in-order-to motives and because-of motives. Through verification and substantiation, the results show that the practice of hadits is not only in the practice of circumcision but also combined with the traditional ceremony of validating the Muslim status of a daughter. The symbols of the tradition, including the procession, props, and the clothes to be worn, show the hopes of the parents that their daughters will be religiously observant, avoid misfortune, be hardworking, independent, and easily find a mate. This futuristic expectation is considered to be in line with the values contained in the Prophetic traditions

Religious Conversion in Hadith and the Discourse of Muslim Scholars

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the status of hadiths that serve as the basis for the imposition of sanctions on individuals who convert from Islam to other beliefs (apostasy) and the views of Muslim scholars in understanding the legal messages behind hadiths on apostasy. This study addresses questions regarding the wording, transmission, and status of hadiths on apostasy, as well as how Muslim scholars define apostasy and interpret the legal messages of apostasy sanctions in the hadiths of the Prophet. The study utilizes the method of takhrij hadith with an analytical-descriptive approach. Both primary and secondary research data are gathered from various literary sources. The study finds that hadiths on the legal sanctions for apostasy have two forms of wording: "man baddala dinahu faqtuluhu - whoever changes his religion, kill him" and "la yahilllu damumriin muslimin illa tsalasin - no Muslim's blood is lawful except for three cases." Hadiths on apostasy sanctions fall into the category of ahad hadiths with a degree of authenticity (sahih). Furthermore, the study reveals the evolution of Muslim scholars' understanding of apostasy, wherein apostasy was initially understood solely as a departure from the Islamic faith (i'tiqad) but later came to be seen as a departure accompanied by enmity towards Islam. The scholars themselves are divided into two major groups in their interpretation of the position of hadiths on apostasy, namely the classical Muslim scholars who interpret it as a legal ruling that can be implemented against apostates. In contrast, contemporary Muslim scholars have started to criticize and reinterpret the status of these hadiths, emphasizing the need to reconsider the contextualized understanding of the legal message of apostasy sanctions. The significant contribution of this study lies in clarifying the status of hadiths on apostasy sanctions and illustrating the dynamic understanding of Muslim scholars regarding the implementation of these hadiths' message

Intertextuality in Qur’anic Studies: Ulum al-Qur'an Perspective on Utilization of the Bible in Qur'anic Interpretation

    No full text
In contemporary Qur'anic studies, a polemic has emerged regarding the use of the Bible as a reference to interpret the Qur'an, or what is categorized as intertextuality. This article aims to reveal the interpretive distortions that arise from the use of the Bible in interpreting the Qur'an by using the perspective of ‘ulÅ«m al-Qur’Än. The methodology of this research is qualitative by using the literature method and using the content analysis approach to analyze the data. Through this methodology, it is found that some orientalists such as Michel Cuypers and Edip Yuksel often use the Bible in interpreting the Qur'an (intertextuality). In the perspective of ‘ulÅ«m al-Qur’Än, this method of interpretation can be categorized as the use of isrÄ'Ä«liyyÄt in the interpretation of the Qur'an.  However, it turns out that what the orientalists did was not in line with the rules of using isrÄ'Ä«liyyÄt itself. Therefore, the intertextuality done by the orientalists can be classified as al-dakhÄ«l fÄ« al-tafsÄ«r (intrusion in interpretation). Ultimately, this method of interpretation is unacceptable, because it implies distortion of Qur'anic interpretation
