Purpose: This research aims to determine the influence of consumer behaviour and interests on purchasing decisions for used clothing in Lubuk Pakam City. Design/Method/Approach: This research method is quantitative and associative. The type of data in this research is primary data. The data source was obtained from consumers through distributing questionnaires to consumers purchasing used clothing in Lubuk Pakam, who will be used as samples in the research. The population in this study was 93,064 people. The sample in this study was taken using a probability sampling technique using the Slovin formula, with a sample size of as many as 100 respondents. The data analysis used is multiple linear regressions. Findings: The results show that consumer behaviour has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, indicating that purchasing second-hand clothing is primarily motivated by price considerations, product quality, and trend-following behaviour. Conversely, consumer interest does not significantly affect purchasing decisions, suggesting that although consumers may be attracted to second-hand clothing, it does not automatically translate into actual purchases, likely due to social stigma or hygiene concerns. Simultaneously, consumer behaviour and interest together significantly influence purchasing decisions, confirming that decision-making in this market is multifactorial and cannot rely solely on interest alone. Originality/Values: These findings contribute theoretically by enhancing the understanding of consumer behaviour in second-hand clothing purchases and offer direct practical implementations. For business actors, the insights enable the design of more targeted marketing strategies that emphasise consumer behaviour factors such as price sensitivity, brand perception, and trend adoption, rather than solely relying on consumer interest. For policymakers, the results support the development of more balanced regulations that protect public health and promote local industries while accommodating the strong consumer demand for second-hand clothing. Additionally, the findings help advocate for programs that ensure hygiene standards and legal compliance in the second-hand clothing trade in cities like Lubuk Pakam

Purpose: This study focuses on institutionalized, prominent Zakat organizations and their role in advancing the welfare of Muslim communities in Sri Lanka. The Muslim second minority community carried out the Zakat several decades ago with the introduction of Islam. The primary objectives of this study are to introduce prominent Zakat institutions and to analyze the welfare contribution over the past five years from 2019 to 2023. Design/Method/Approach: This study used a mixed method. The primary data were collected through interviews with official representatives from four Zakat institutions operating in the following regions: Akkaraipattu, Kattankudi, Kinniya, and Sammanthurai. The interviews lasted between 50 and 60 minutes each. Secondary data was sourced from annual official publications and reports of the Zakat institutions, focusing on statistical figures that provide a quantitative perspective to complement the qualitative insights from the interviews. The qualitative data were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis. The quantitative secondary data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and interpreted to provide more accurate insights. Findings: The study highlights varying growth rates in Zakat collection and fluctuations across regions, with some Zakat fund collections experiencing sharp increases. In contrast, others showed declining patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic. All institutions played a pivotal role in advancing the welfare of the Muslim community. They focused on housing, food security, and self-employment, with additional contributions to education, healthcare, and social welfare. Originality/Values: The study suggests that Zakat institutions re-evaluate the mechanism used for the collection process, keep good relations with payers, and create a provincial and national regulatory body that regulates the rules, monitors the services, prioritizes the sectors to be highly focused on distributions, and connects with the government

    No full text
This study is to investigate the impact of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media on students' understanding of science concepts and to evaluate the effectiveness of this media in the Science learning process. The methodology employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data collecting technique refers to the PRISMA method utilizing the databases Google Scholar, Open Knowledge Maps, and Publish or Perish (Scopus). This analysis analyzed publications released throughout 2020 until 2024. There were 20 useful articles out of the 428 total. The analytical method employed is descriptive qualitative. The studied indicators include AR-based learning media, elementary school students' understanding of scientific concepts, and the effectiveness of AR-based learning media in enhancing understanding of these concepts. The study's findings indicate that augmented reality improves student understanding of scientific concepts. AR makes learning more fun and encourages students to think critically and solve problems through visualization of interesting material presentation. As a result, students can understand abstract concepts so as to achieve better learning outcomes. Thus, AR-based media is proven effective in improving students' concept understanding. However, the success of AR implementation is highly dependent on the active role of teachers in guiding students and provide sufficient infrastructural support; hence, teachers must receive training on how to use this technology

    No full text
Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is an instructional model that involves students directly in project activities. Through these projects, students become more active and engaged in the learning process compared to conventional models, ultimately contributing to improved understanding and memory retention. This study aims to analyze the effect of PjBL on fourth-grade students’ understanding of cultural diversity at SD Negeri 2 Sukodono. A quantitative approach with pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest structure was employed. Data were collected from 42 students using a validated multiple-choice test administered before and after the PjBL intervention. Results revealed a statistically significant improvement in students’ understanding of cultural diversity at SDN 2 Sukodono. The paired-samples t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), leading to rejection of the null hypothesis (H₀) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ). The class mean score rose substantially from 71.86 (pretest) to 90.62 (posttest). These findings confirm that the Project-Based Learning model is highly effective in enhancing cognitive mastery of cultural diversity content (traditional musical instruments, regional attire, and customary houses) among elementary students, thereby supporting its wider adoption in Pancasila and civic education curricula
