The Influence of Sharia Financial Literacy, E-Commerce, Payment Gateway, and Media Social on The Performance Of UMKM (Coffee Shops) In Medan City
Purpose: This research aims to examine the influence of Sharia financial literacy, e-commerce, payment gateways, and Media Social on the performance of UMKM (coffee shops) in Medan City.
Design/Method/Approach: The research method uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis techniques and is processed using SPSS. The research sample consists of 105 respondents, selected based on predetermined criteria: UMKM coffee shop entrepreneurs.
Findings: Sharia Financial Literacy has a significant influence because it helps MSME actors manage their finances more wisely and use Sharia principles, thereby increasing efficiency and consumer trust. Payment Gateway also has a considerable impact as it facilitates fast and secure digital transactions, which are essential in today’s cashless society. Social Media is likewise substantial because it is a low-cost promotional tool with a broad reach, enabling MSMEs to build social relationships and a strong brand image. E-commerce does not significantly influence, possibly because not all MSME coffee shops in Medan have fully optimized e-commerce platforms due to limitations in technology, knowledge, or consumer preferences that still lean toward offline transactions.
Originality/Values: The originality of this study lies in its integrated analysis of Sharia financial literacy, e-commerce, payment gateways, and social media in the specific context of coffee shop MSMEs in Medan City, offering a holistic view rarely explored in previous research. The findings can be implemented by promoting Sharia-based financial education, encouraging digital payment systems, and providing social media marketing training. Given the low impact of e-commerce, targeted digital transformation programs are needed to overcome local technological and knowledge barriers. These steps can help stakeholders support the sustainable growth of MSMEs in urban Muslim communities
Dynamics of Audit Quality: The Effect of Audit Delay, Company Size, And Audit Tenure with The Role of Audit Fee Moderation
Purpose: This study aims to examine the effect of audit delay, company size, and audit tenure on audit quality, with audit fees acting as a moderating variable, specifically in sharia-compliant firms listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII 70) during 2020–2024.
Design/Method/Approach: The research employs a quantitative explanatory approach using secondary data from company financial statements. Audit quality is proxied by the engagement of Big Four auditors, while audit delay, firm size, and audit tenure serve as independent variables. Moderation regression analysis is applied to evaluate the moderating role of audit fees in these relationships.
Findings: The results indicate that audit delay, company size, and audit tenure do not significantly influence audit quality, and audit fees do not significantly moderate these relationships. These findings suggest that traditional predictors of audit quality may be less impactful in sharia-compliant firms, possibly due to their strong adherence to Islamic principles emphasizing accountability and transparency.
Originality/Values: This study contributes to the auditing and corporate governance literature in Islamic capital markets by highlighting the unique context of sharia-based firms. It provides practical insights for firms and policymakers to enhance audit practices through strengthened internal controls and clearer reporting frameworks
The Role of Islamic Economics in Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Development
This article aims to analyze the role of Islamic economics in promoting inclusive and sustainable development in Indonesia. Islamic economics is viewed as an alternative system that emphasizes the principles of justice, balance, and public welfare, thereby providing solutions to various modern economic issues, including social inequality and market instability. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature studies, this research examines the contribution of Islamic economic instruments such as Islamic banking, zakat, waqf, and sovereign sukuk in strengthening equitable and sustainable economic growth. The findings indicate that Islamic economics has significant potential to enhance financial inclusion, support development financing, and reduce social disparities. However, low levels of Islamic financial literacy, limited product innovation, and regulatory challenges remain obstacles that need to be addressed urgently. This study recommends strengthening policies, increasing literacy, and advancing digital innovation as the main strategies to optimize the role of Islamic economics in inclusive and sustainable development
Examining the Roles of Cognitive and Metacognitive Activities in Translation Performance: Think Aloud Protocol (TAP) Analysis
The purpose of this study is to investigate the cognitive and metacognitive strategies implemented by an English teacher at a Senior High School in Jakarta to understand the cognitive and metacognitive processes used in translating English text into Indonesian text, and vice versa, within a time frame of about 25-30 minutes. This qualitative study aims to explore how cognitive and metacognitive activities may impact students' translation process and help them develop sub-competencies by guiding them through the translation process and identifying strategies used to complete the task. The translation tasks involve translating English text into Indonesian text and vice versa. The tasks provide source text (ST) and Google translation (GT) output as references to assist in translating the texts that are put in post-editing. Each ST consists of 10 sentences that are translated using cognitive and metacognitive activities. The analysis used was the Think Aloud Protocol (TAP) based on Waden’s theory (1991). TAP was used to analyses the taxonomy of cognitive and metacognitive strategies. As the results of the study revealed, the frequency of cognitive strategies used in the Source Text (ST) is higher, indicating a higher complexity that requires additional cognitive effort. On the other hand, the use of cognitive activities decreased, affecting cognitive knowledge and reading strategies that influence cognitive activities. Additionally, metacognitive strategies were found to be more frequently associated with translational problems
Discovering the Role of Student Motivation in EFL Learning: A Bibliometric Analysis
This article presents a systematic review of students' motivation to learn English as a Foreign Language (EFL) over the past decade. The study examines publication trends, identifies relevant authors, analyzes article production from various countries and their collaborations, and explores commonly used keywords on this topic. Data were collected from the Scopus database and analyzed with RStudio, which served as the primary tool for this study. Article selection adhered to the PRISMA guidelines, yielding 176 relevant articles published between 2014 and 2024. The findings indicate that research on student motivation in EFL learning has been consistently pursued over the past decade. This study also identifies an author from Indonesia as notable. Meanwhile, countries in the Middle East have produced the most publications and exhibit the highest collaboration on this topic. Additionally, the findings reveal that "learning" is the most frequently used term in research regarding student motivation in EFL learning
The Development of Problem-Based Learning in English Language Education Through Academic Literature
With this study, the authors explore the evolution of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in English language education and its substantial contribution to language proficiency, critical thinking, and student engagement. With technology evolving at a fast pace and world becoming a global village, the conventional means of education are slowly dying and are not enough to prepare students for the challenges of the 21st century. In response to these challenges, Project-Based Learning (PBL) has mature as a student-centered approach that promotes relevant and real-world problems and tasks, active learning, and collaboration. The corresponding research brings together research published from 1980 through 2024, emphasizing the period of 2019–2024. Employing thematic analysis, three main themes emerged from the literature, which were language proficiency, developing critical thinking skills, challenges in implementing PBL, and technological integration. The research shows that PBL leads to higher levels of language proficiency, especially in speaking and writing, promotes critical thinking, and increases engagement among learners. However, many barriers exist, including lack of teacher preparation and limited curriculum and materials availability. Finally, the paper concludes that the potential of PBL in English language education is maximized with teacher training, curricular flexibility, and equitable access to technology
Constructing Meaning: A Critical Reflection on Phonetics and Phonology Teaching Learning in EFL Higher Education Context
Language knowledge and presentation skills are part of the essential characteristics that an English tutor must possess. However, in reality, a tutor who identifies as a non-native English speaker is not really able to be an adequate model for English language learning coupled with many traditional methods that fail to meet the diverse needs of students, for example not utilizing modern technological tools effectively, and sometimes tutors do not have sufficient awareness of pedagogical knowledge and linguistic knowledge to be a role model of English in the EFL context. Through critical reflection using the 3 Whats model, this research explores how the learning process inspires and motivates students to become English education students, who are designed to become future teachers. 136 English education students were involved in writing a critical reflection after the lecture of Phonetics and Phonology Subject lecture for one semester ended. The findings show that the tutor has the capacity assessed in nine criteria of ideal language teachers, namely having competence, liking English when teaching, motivating, consistently giving feedback, facilitating students to show their abilities, innovating to overcome students' difficulties, appreciating students' work, and being professional in whatever they do. Therefore, further investigation is needed to explore how technology impacts in building of students' critical language awareness

Effectiveness of Child-Friendly Schools Based on the CIRC Method toward Learning Outcomes in Arabic Language Education at MI Tarbiyah Islamiyah Palembang
The lack of reading references is one of the factors contributing to the low level of student interest in writing. Therefore, the CIRC method enables students to collaborate in small groups to assist one another by combining reading, writing, and discussion activities into a single learning activity. Where this is consistent with the fundamental values of a child-friendly school, which emphasizes the safety, comfort, health, friendliness, and enjoyment of children. The objective of this research is to investigate how Arabic language learning using the CIRC method can be adapted to the principles of child-friendly schools. This study uses the sequential explanatory method, also known as the mixed method, which in its implementation employs a one-group pre-test and post-test design, which means that only one experimental class is used, without a comparison class. The results show that this treatment can improve students' Arabic language skills as indicated by an average pre-test score of 35.33 and a post-test score of 80.67. This implies that students' proficiency in the Arabic language has improved. This learning can also provide motivation and facilitate developing of students' social skills. Through group study, students will acquire the ability to respect and appreciate one another, which is consistent with the values of a child-friendly, anti-discriminatory institution
