Trabalho e endometriose: saúde e doença das mulheres diante das contradições do capitalismo
Full text linkThe aim of this article was to discuss the contradictions inherent in the working relationships to which endometriosis sufferers are subjected. Endometriosis is a pathology that has been studied in terms of its disabling aspects in the workforce and which affects seven million women in Brazil alone. We started with a narrative review linking work and endometriosis. The preliminary treatment culminated in four themes: a) the stigmatization of the pathology, b) the relationship between working hours and the worsening of the clinical picture, c) productivity, and d) the subjectivation of work. These themes were analyzed in the light of historical and dialectical materialism. The conclusion is that workloads contribute to a deterioration in the health of women, who feel compelled to continue working, in the market or at home, even with episodes of pain, because of the need to keep their jobs and feel responsible for reproductive work. Finally, we highlight how workforce, on the one hand, is a means for women with endometriosis to participate in social life and reproduce their existence, while on the other hand, it has been a means of physical and mental suffering which, due to the high loads, tends to reduce their capacity for life and work.O objetivo deste artigo consistiu em discutir as contradições inerentes às relações de trabalho às quais estão submetidas as trabalhadoras acometidas pela endometriose. Patologia que tem sido estudada quanto aos seus aspectos incapacitantes na força de trabalho e que acomete sete milhões de mulheres apenas no Brasil. Partimos de uma Revisão Narrativa que relacionasse trabalho e endometriose. O tratamento preliminar culminou em quatro temas: a) estigmatização da patologia, b) a relação entre as jornadas de trabalho e a piora do quadro clínico, c) a produtividade, e d) Subjetivação do trabalho. Tais temas foram analisados à luz do materialismo histórico e dialético. Aponta-se que as cargas de trabalho contribuem para deterioração da saúde da mulher, que se percebe impelida a continuar trabalhando, no mercado ou em casa, mesmo com episódios de dor, diante da necessidade de manutenção do emprego e de se sentir responsável pelo trabalho reprodutivo. Por fim, destacamos como a venda da força de trabalho, por um lado, é um meio para que a mulher com endometriose possa participar da vida social e reproduzir sua existência, enquanto, por outro lado, tem sido um meio de sofrimento físico e mental que, devido às altas cargas, tendem a reduzir sua capacidade de vida e trabalho
Dimensões interseccionais de raça e gênero no mercado de trabalho para mulheres negras com formação superior
Full text linkThe objective of the study was to interpret, based on the concept of intersectionality, the reality of the professional lives of black women with higher education in Brazil. Seeking to observe in contemporary times the intersection of the oppressive aspects of machismo and racism in the workplace, as cultural remnants resulting from patriarchy and slavery. Bringing to the debate the reality of the intersection of gender and race in the lives of black workers with higher education. To explore this reality, life history was adopted as a methodological approach, based on the narrative of the life experiences of four black workers with completed higher education, all residents of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The interviews took place in January and February 2023, being recorded and later transcribed. The study concluded, when reflecting on intersectionality, that oppressive aspects of race and gender are a reality that creates difficulties for black women, even hindering their advancement in the job market, even if they have higher education.O objetivo do estudo foi interpretar, com base no conceito de interseccionalidade, a realidade da vida profissional de mulheres negras com ensino superior no Brasil. Buscando-se observar na contemporaneidade a interseção dos aspectos opressivos machismo e racismo no ambiente de trabalho, enquanto resquícios culturais resultantes do patriarcado e da escravidão. Trazendo para o debate a realidade da interseção dos aspectos gênero e raça na vida de trabalhadoras negras com ensino superior. Para incursionar nessa realidade, adotou-se como abordagem metodológica a história de vida, que tomou como base a narrativa de experiências de vida de quatro trabalhadoras negras com ensino superior completo, todas moradoras do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. As entrevistas ocorreram nos meses de janeiro e fevereiro de 2023, sendo gravadas e, posteriormente, transcritas. O estudo concluiu, ao refletir sobre a interseccionalidade, que aspectos opressivos de raça e gênero são uma realidade que gera dificuldades para as mulheres negras, atrapalhando inclusive na ascensão delas no mercado de trabalho, mesmo que tenham formação superior
Longevidade organizacional: perspectivas sobre o tempo no discurso sobre gestão e estratégia de empresas duradouras
Full text linkIn this research, business longevity is analyzed based on different concepts of temporality in the discourse on management and strategy of long-lasting companies operating in Brazil. The research offers an overview of two epistemological perspectives: one that represents orthodoxy and another with the potential to expand studies on organizational longevity. The article is based on studies on time and temporality, and on studies of business management and organizational strategy that deal with longevity in organizations: scenario analysis, organization life cycle, organizational path-dependence, strategic storytelling, organizational history and strategy as discourse. The collection and analysis of the researched material were conducted using the critical discourse analysis (CDA) method, considering Teun A.van Dijk's socio-cognitive approach. Data collection was carried out using documentary research on the websites of thirteen companies which have been operating for more than fifty years. The discourse analysis of the long-lasting companies researched resulted in ten images about organizational longevity. Such images intertwine elements of the past, a successful fight for survival, and projections of their promising future, which they incorporate into their present and shape the stories they tell society. This article contributes different views for researching and teaching of lasting company strategies and to studies on time and strategy.Nesta pesquisa, analisa-se a longevidade empresarial a partir de diferentes concepções de temporalidade no discurso sobre gestão e estratégia de empresas duradouras que atuam no Brasil. A pesquisa oferece um panorama de duas perspectivas epistemológicas: uma que representa a ortodoxia e outra com potencial para ampliar os estudos sobre longevidade organizacional. O artigo está fundamentado em estudos sobre tempo e temporalidade e em estudos de gestão empresarial e estratégia organizacional que tratam da longevidade nas organizações: análise de cenários, ciclo de vida das organizações, path-dependence organizacional, strategic storytelling, história organizacional e estratégia como discurso. A coleta e a análise do material pesquisado foram conduzidas a partir do método de análise crítica do discurso (ACD), considerando a abordagem sociocognitiva de Teun A. van Dijk. A coleta de dados foi realizada com o uso da pesquisa documental em websites de treze empresas longevas: aquelas com mais de cinquenta anos de criação. A análise do discurso das empresas duradouras pesquisadas resultou em dez imagens sobre a longevidade organizacional. Tais imagens entrelaçam elementos do passado, uma luta exitosa pela sobrevivência, e projeções de seu futuro promissor, que elas incorporam ao seu presente e dão forma às histórias que elas contam para a sociedade. Influência de ações sustentáveis nas estratégias de green marketing em micro e pequenas empresas: uma análise baseada em casos múltiplos
Full text linkConsidering the scarcity of studies on sustainability and marketing in small businesses and, especially, on green marketing in these companies, this study aims to contribute to this gap and proposes to analyze how sustainable practices influence green marketing strategies in micro and small businesses. The methodology adopted was that of multiple case studies and evidences were collected through interviews and documents in four micro and small enterprises in the recycling segment located in the State of Sergipe. The results demonstrate that, although the adoption of renewable sources of water and energy is still timid in the companies studied, possibly due to the current costs of these resources, the intrinsic sustainable characteristics to these products and services stand out as a competitive differentiator. This distinction has encouraged these companies to innovate, incorporating environmental concerns into their operations and marketing strategies. However, a consensus was identified among them on the imperative of improving their green marketing strategies and adopting more proactive and educational stances. As revealed by the study, a significant barrier is the need for more financial and human resources, limiting more substantial investments in green marketing initiatives.Considerando a escassez de estudos sobre sustentabilidade e marketing em pequenas empresas e, especialmente, sobre green marketing nessas empresas, este estudo pretende contribuir com essa lacuna e se propõe a analisar como as práticas sustentáveis influenciam as estratégias de green marketing em micro e pequenas empresas. A metodologia adotada foi a de estudo de casos múltiplos e evidências foram coletadas por meio de entrevistas e documentos em quatro empresas de micro e pequeno porte no segmento de reciclagem situadas no Estado de Sergipe. Os resultados demonstram que, embora a adoção de fontes renováveis de água e energia ainda seja tímida nas empresas estudadas, possivelmente, devido aos custos atuais desses recursos, as características sustentáveis intrínsecas aos produtos e serviços se destacam como um diferencial competitivo. Esta distinção tem incentivado tais empresas a inovar, incorporando preocupações ambientais em suas operações e estratégias mercadológicas. Contudo, identificou-se um consenso entre elas sobre a imperatividade de aprimorar suas estratégias de green marketing, adotando posturas mais proativas e educativas. Uma barreira significativa, conforme revelado pelo estudo, é a escassez de recursos financeiros e humanos, limitando investimentos mais substanciais em iniciativas de green marketing
Decolonizando a beleza: a influência das texturas capilares naturais na estética de mulheres negras brasileiras
Full text linkThe aim of this research is to understand how the assumption of natural hair textures contributes to the decolonial redefinition of Black women's notions of beauty and aesthetic sense. The relevance of this question lies in understanding the forms of resistance (or not) to coloniality that occur in women's daily lives. An exploratory qualitative study was carried out using a life story with a thematic focus, retrieved through in-depth interviews. The story was analyzed using Braun and Clark's Thematic Analysis in line with Atkinson. The findings revealed that the possibilities of interaction and content creation present on the internet were fundamental elements in the construction of new references to beauty, which include Black aesthetics within beauty. Furthermore, the sense of belonging to a community of equals to look up to is a fundamental element in decolonizing subjectivity and reconstructing the aesthetic and beauty notions of Black women who have undergone a hair transition. The conclusion is that the assumption of natural hair by Black women has the potential to transform their being, freeing them from the racist social precepts expected by society.O objetivo da presente investigação é compreender como a assunção de texturas capilares naturais contribui para a redefinição decolonial das noções de beleza e senso estético de mulheres negras. A relevância dessa questão está no entendimento das formas de resistência (ou não) à colonialidade que ocorrem no cotidiano destas mulheres. Foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa exploratória por meio de história de vida com recorte temático, resgatada por meio de entrevistas aprofundadas. A história foi analisada por meio da Análise Temática de Braun e Clark em consonância com Atkinson. Os achados revelaram que as possibilidades de interação e criação de conteúdo presentes na internet foram elementos fundamentais para a construção de novas referências de beleza, que incluem a estética negra dentro do belo. Ainda, que o senso de pertencimento a uma comunidade de iguais em quem se espelhar é um elemento fundamental para decolonizar a subjetividade e reconstruir as noções estéticas e de beleza de mulheres negras que realizaram transição capilar. Conclui–se que a assunção dos cabelos naturais por mulheres negras tem potencial transformador do ser, libertando-o dos preceitos sociais racistas esperados pela sociedade
A relação dos elementos dos ecossistemas de inovação social com desenvolvimento local: uma proposta de um framework
Full text linkThis article examines the principal elements of Social Innovation Ecosystems (SIEs) and their interaction with Local Development (LD). Employing a qualitative and exploratory methodology, the research is grounded in an integrative literature review, bibliometric analyses, and semi-structured interviews with domain experts. The study culminates in the formulation and validation of a theoretical framework that systematically categorizes the structural components of SIEs within specific territorial contexts, utilizing a relational and multidimensional lens. The validation phase, undertaken through expert interviews, resulted in critical adjustments to the nomenclature and substantial reconfigurations of the proposed model. This process included the integration of key aspects such as participatory governance and intersectoral collaboration. The primary contribution of this study lies in mitigating the theoretical fragmentation identified in the existing literature by offering an analytical tool that serves as a guide for researchers, public managers, and policymakers engaged in innovative processes aimed at social transformation and the enhancement of local capacities.Este artigo tem como objetivo identificar e discutir os principais elementos dos Ecossistemas de Inovação Social (EISs) em sua interface com o Desenvolvimento Local (DL). Para isso, foi adotada uma abordagem qualitativa de natureza exploratória, fundamentada em revisão integrativa da literatura, análises bibliométricas e entrevistas semiestruturadas com especialistas da área. O estudo resultou na proposição e validação de um framework teórico que sistematiza, de forma relacional e multidimensional, os componentes estruturantes dos EISs em contextos territoriais. A fase de validação, realizada por meio da escuta qualificada de especialistas, promoveu não apenas ajustes de nomenclatura, mas também reconfigurações substantivas no modelo proposto, incorporando aspectos como governança participativa e articulação intersetorial. A principal contribuição do estudo reside na superação da fragmentação teórica observada na literatura, oferecendo uma ferramenta analítica que pode orientar pesquisadores, gestores públicos e formuladores de políticas comprometidos com processos inovadores de transformação social e fortalecimento de capacidades locais
Os meios de aprendizagem empreendedora e a formação de competências empreendedoras de mulheres que atuam na economia informal
Full text linkThe aim of this study is to analyze the means of entrepreneurial learning that enable the development of entrepreneurial competencies among women active in the informal economy, considering that women's entrepreneurship in this context goes beyond merely idealizing the challenges these women face. The study seeks, through the analysis of their experiences, to understand how they develop essential entrepreneurial competencies for the survival and growth of their businesses in a resource-constrained environment. The theoretical framework of the study is based on four theories, with a focus on the entrepreneurial learning models proposed by Politis, Rae, and Man, as well as the entrepreneurial competencies model of Man and Lau. The study adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach, with data collection conducted through semi-structured interviews with women entrepreneurs in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The results highlight the emergence of critical competencies such as creativity, communication, and technical skills. Among the learning methods, the importance of practice, experimentation, and active pursuit of knowledge stands out. The research also reveals the significant role of family support, which varies according to the financial dependence of the business. Finally, this investigation contributes to a deeper understanding of women's entrepreneurship in the informal economy and emphasizes the need for policies that recognize and value these efforts, considering the complexities and challenges faced by these women.O objetivo deste estudo é analisar os meios de aprendizagem empreendedora que possibilitam a formação de competências empreendedoras de mulheres atuantes na economia informal, tendo em vista, o entendimento de que o empreendedorismo feminino na economia informal vai além da simples idealização dos desafios enfrentados por essas mulheres. Busca-se, por meio da análise de suas experiências, compreender como elas desenvolvem competências empreendedoras essenciais para a sobrevivência e o crescimento de seus negócios em um contexto de recursos limitados. A construção teórica do estudo teve como base quatro teorias, destacando-se os modelos de aprendizagem empreendedora propostos por Politis, Rae e Man, além do modelo de competências empreendedoras de Man e Lau. O estudo adota uma abordagem qualitativa e descritiva, com coleta de dados realizada por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com empreendedoras no centro do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Os resultados apontam para a emergência de competências críticas, tais como criatividade, comunicação e competências técnicas. Entre os meios de aprendizagem, destacam-se a importância da prática, da experimentação e da busca ativa por conhecimento. A pesquisa revela também o papel significativo do apoio familiar, que varia conforme a dependência financeira do empreendimento. Por fim, esta investigação contribui para uma compreensão mais profunda do empreendedorismo feminino na economia informal e enfatiza a necessidade de políticas que reconheçam e valorizem esses esforços, considerando as complexidades e os desafios enfrentados por essas mulheres
Performances, vozes e sentidos: reconceitualizando o identity play na construção do self não binário
Full text linkThis study examined how non-binary individuals construct their gender identity through identity play. Based on grounded theory and the analysis of 47 narratives, three main forms of play emerged: mindplay (cognitive and vicarious), cosplay (virtual and physical), and storyplay (narrative and performative). These forms of play unfold in a non-linear and co-constructed manner, marked by cycles of reflective pauses, preparation for identity activation, and ongoing exploration and experimentation. From these dynamics, we propose an empirical-theoretical model of gender identity awareness as a situated, fluid, and dialogical process—modulating the degree of clarity, confidence, and agency throughout the identity trajectory. The study repositions play as a continuous, polyphonic, and insurgent practice in the lived experiences of non-binary individuals. By grounding this model within the Brazilian context—shaped by both symbolic and material risks—this research contributes to the decolonization of theoretical frameworks and to the expansion of classical models of identity development and gender performativityEste estudo analisou como pessoas não binárias constroem sua identidade de gênero por meio de jogos identitários. A partir da análise de 47, com base no método grounded theory, emergiram três formas principais de jogo: mindplay (cognitivo e vicário), cosplay (virtual e físico) e storyplay (narrativo e performático). Esses jogos ocorrem de forma não linear e co-construída, atravessados por ciclos de pausa reflexiva, preparação para ativação identitária e exploração e experimentação contínua. Com base nessas dinâmicas, propomos uma modelização empírico-teórica da consciência de identidade de gênero como um processo situado, fluido e dialógico — modulando o grau de clareza, segurança e agency no percurso identitário. O estudo reposiciona o play como prática contínua, polifônica e insurgente na vivência de sujeitos não binários. Ao inscrever esse modelo no contexto brasileiro, marcado por riscos simbólicos e materiais, contribui-se para a decolonização dos referenciais teóricos e para a ampliação dos modelos clássicos de desenvolvimento identitário e performatividade de gênero
Propósito organizacional na prática: impacto no sentido do trabalho e no engajamento dos colaboradores
Full text linkThis article aims to analyze how organizational purpose influences the meaning of work and employee engagement. The article is relevant due to the scarcity of studies on the subject, but also because organizations have faced numerous challenges linked to new ways of working, resignations from professionals who are looking for greater personal and professional fulfillment, among other factors that impact the meaning of work and employee engagement. Given this scenario, this article makes contributions as it identifies: (i) how the phenomenon “organizational purpose” manifests itself in practice; (ii) its relevance; (iii) its positive impact on the meaning of work and engagement and (iv) the importance of the role of leadership in this process. To achieve the objective of this work, ten semi-structured, qualitative research studies were carried out, using the thematic analysis technique to process the data. The study concludes that: (i) the organizational purpose needs to be authentic; (ii) that there is a direct relationship between a company with an organizational purpose and the positive impact it generates on the meanings of work; (iii) the organizational purpose is the “differentiator” in engagement; (iv) and leadership is a driver and guardian of purpose.Este trabalho objetiva analisar como o propósito organizacional influencia no sentido do trabalho e no engajamento dos colaboradores. O artigo se mostra relevante devido à escassez de estudos sobre o tema, mas também devido ao fato de que organizações têm enfrentado inúmeros desafios atrelados às novas formas de trabalho, aos pedidos de demissão de profissionais que estão em busca de uma maior realização pessoal e profissional, entre outros fatores, que impactam o sentido do trabalho e o engajamento dos colaboradores. Diante desse cenário, este artigo traz contribuições, pois identificam: (i) como o fenômeno “propósito organizacional” se manifesta na prática; (ii) a sua relevância; (iii) o seu impacto positivo no sentido do trabalho e no engajamento e (iv) a importância do papel da liderança neste processo. Para atingir o objetivo deste trabalho, foram realizadas dez pesquisas semiestruturadas, qualitativas, utilizando-se da técnica de análise temática para tratamento dos dados. O estudo conclui que: (i) o propósito organizacional precisa ser autêntico; (ii) que existe uma relação direta entre uma empresa com propósito organizacional e o impacto positivo que ela gera nos sentidos do trabalho; (iii) o propósito organizacional é o “diferencial” no engajamento e (iv) a liderança é um impulsionador e um guardião do propósito
Práticas de cuidado multiespécies no antropoceno: compreendendo modos de vida no turismo rural
Full text linkThis theoretical essay aims to discuss how the analysis of multispecies care practices can contribute to the understanding of ways of life via rural tourism in the context of the anthropocene. A literature review was carried out seeking to relate multispecies care practices in the Anthropocene and rural tourism. The argumentative path was carried out as follows: first, we sought to elucidate about multispecies care practices; from now on, characteristics that permeate the practice of rural tourism were evidenced and, finally, approximations were made between multispecies care practices and rural tourism, with a view to elucidating ways that allow a better understanding of the phenomenon considering ways of life in the Anthropocene. We systematize the contribution of our analysis in three basic axes: (1) a perspective of multispecies care allows us to broaden the understanding of the practice of rural tourism by highlighting the situated and embodied entanglements that constitute plants, humans and other animals; (2) this expansion makes it possible to take into account theoretically the agencies of these other beings to think about forms of joint life; (3) at the same time that it shows that, even in the case of care practices, these practices are neither homogeneous nor harmonious, but imply power relations and different degrees of vulnerability for humans and non-humans. We conclude that multispecies care practices can be relevant analytical tools in organizational studies on the Anthropocene, as they contribute to the understanding of the organization of rural ways of life in spaces in which rural tourism is a relevant economic and cultural practice.Este ensaio teórico objetiva discutir como a análise das práticas de cuidado multiespécies pode contribuir para a compreensão de modos de vida via turismo rural no contexto do antropoceno. Foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica buscando relacionar práticas de cuidado multiespécies no antropoceno e turismo rural. O percurso argumentativo foi realizado da seguinte forma: primeiramente, buscou-se elucidar acerca das práticas de cuidado multiespécies; doravante, foram evidenciadas características que permeiam a prática do turismo rural e, por fim, realizaram-se aproximações entre as práticas de cuidado multiespécies e o turismo rural, com vistas a elucidar formas que permitam melhor compreender o fenômeno considerando-se modos de vida no antropoceno. Sistematizamos a contribuição da nossa análise em três eixos básicos: (1) uma perspectiva do cuidado multiespécies permite ampliar a compreensão da prática do turismo rural ao evidenciar os emaranhados situados e corporificados que constituem plantas, humanos e outros animais; (2) essa ampliação permite levar em consideração teoricamente as agências desses outros seres para pensar formas de vida conjunta; (3) ao mesmo tempo em que mostra que, mesmo em se tratando de práticas de cuidado, essas práticas não são homogêneas nem harmoniosas, mas implicam relações de poder e diferentes graus de vulnerabilidade para humanos e não-humanos. Concluímos que as práticas de cuidado multiespécies podem ser ferramentas analíticas relevantes nos estudos organizacionais sobre o antropoceno, pois contribuem para a compreensão da organização de modos de vida rurais em espaços nos quais o turismo rural é uma prática econômica e cultural relevante
