Творештвото на Олга Токарчук низ призмата на преводите на македонски јазик
This article concerns the reception of Olga Tokarchuk’s literary works, as she is one of the most outstanding writers of the present day, not only in Polish literature. This concerns theperspective of a translator working in a different environment which is also important, because it could differ both from the country of origin and from that of other countries where Olga Tokarchuk might be more popular. The analysis of her five works translated into Macedonian hepled us derive the dominant featuresthat determine her writing style and which we try to explain through the prism of her own words, expressed mainly in the essay entitled “Tender Narrator”.
THE IMPACT OF THE PROCESS OF EUROPEANIZATION ON GENDER EQUALITY IN CROATIA
This paper is focused on the evaluation of the impact of the process of Europeanization on gender equality in the Republic of Croatia. In this context the evolution of constitutional and institutional framework of gender equality in Croatia, from early days of its transition to democracy to today, will be presented. The main hypothesis is that the interplay of international, regional and national factors, with the leading role of the process of Europeanization, but also of strong women’s organizations, resulted in relatively good gender equality framework. In the evolution of this gender equality framework, or during the last two decades, Croatia developed quite solid legal and institutional framework in the context of gender equality. This framework includes constitutionalization of gender equality, a number of specialized laws and responsible bodies, committees, offices and coordinators established at state, regional and local level, but also the head and independent institution of the Ombudsperson for Gender Equality. However, there still seems to be a lot of room for improvement, and the gap between the letter and the spirit is more than evident. The key finding of this paper is that despite the relatively well developed constitutional and institutional framework of gender equality in Croatia, numerous challenges and gaps in the implementation process are still evident throughout many fields. The situation is particularly bad in the areas of political and economic representation, gender stereotypes and sexism, and women’s sexual and reproductive rights
THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES ON FEDERALISM: ANALYZING THEORIES AND CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK IN COMPARATIVE CONSTITUTIONAL LAW
Federalism, characterized by its multifaceted, elastic, and complex nature, often presents significantanalytical challenges. This paper aims to thoroughly analyze and elaborate on the theories of federalism, the elements of federations, and the status and organization of federal units. Despite the inherent ambiguityand lack of a universal definition, understanding federalism requires an in-depth examination of thesecomponents. By exploring classical and contemporary theories, this study highlights the dynamic nature offederalism and its role in shaping political structures. Additionally, the paper examines the features offederations within historical and modern political systems, providing insights into the conceptualframework and practical implications of federalism in comparative constitutional law. Through thiscomprehensive analysis, the paper seeks to offer a clearer understanding of the complex and evolving natureof federalism
THE ‘CIVIL DEATH’ OF PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LEGAL CAPACITY IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA
The author tackles the topic on legal capacity in the intersection between civil law andhuman rights that is very important, yet neglected in the Macedonian legal theory andjurisprudence. Namely, Republic of North Macedonia has ratified the Convention on Rights ofPersons with Disabilities and has an obligation to align its legal system (primarily its Family Lawand Law on Non-contentious Procedure, but also other laws) with its spirit. It seems as if theconcept of legal capacity does not include variations of the mental capacity in the Court’s decisionwhen deciding to limit/deprive a person of his/her legal capacity. Instead, it is binary in terms thatthe legal capacity can either be limited/deprived or not, without further specification of the scopeof rights and obligations encompassed therein. As a result, persons deprived of legal capacity (andsometimes persons with limited legal capacity) are limited to enjoying and acting upon most oftheir fundamental rights. The author concludes that persons deprived of legal capacity in theMacedonian legal system are in a state of ‘civil death’ because they are restricted from enjoyingand acting upon many fundamental human rights. These include equality rights (not to bediscriminated against), private and family life rights (a right to make decisions about their ownbody, medical treatments, reproductive choices, conclusion of marriage, recognition of parenthoodetc.), procedural rights (a right to access to court and administrative institutions, a right to expresslegally valid opinions in such proceedings), political rights (a right to vote) etc. This should bechanged as a matter of priority in the future
Бекетовата апстрактна машина: толкување на трилогијата на Семјуел Бекет преку филозофијата на Жил Делез и Феликс Гатари: експозе на магистерски труд
This study describes and uses the philosophical concepts of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari in conjunction with the prose works of Samuel Beckett (the novels Malloy, Malone Dies, and The Unnamable) in order to designate an abstract machine in Beckett’s writing. Deleuze and Guattari’s schizoanalysis and its’ concepts, such as assemblages, lines of escape, deterritorialization, bodies without organs, order-words, faciality, etc., are utilized as intepretative tools in Beckett’s novels. This intermixing of the writer’s and the philosophers’ ideas points towards a similar understanding of the usage of language and writing in relation to systems of oppression and constraint. This study describes and uses the philosophical concepts of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari in conjunction with the prose works of Samuel Beckett (the novels Malloy, Malone Dies, and The Unnamable) in order to designate an abstract machine in Beckett’s writing. PLUM POX VIRUS PRESENCE IN AUTOCHTHONOUS STONE FRUIT COLLECTION
Plum pox virus (PPV), also called Sharka belongs to Potyvirus genus, is the most devastating viral disease of stone fruit worldwide. Long distance spread is the result of moving infected nursery stock or propagative material, so grafts and budwood are also ways of moving infected material. Short distance spread is through aphid carriers. During 2024, a survey was performed to detect the presence of Plum pox virus (PPV) in stone fruits collection orchards in Aleksandrovac and at the site of Botanical Garden of the University of Banjaluka. In June, leaves plant tissues were collected and analyzed serologically by DAS-ELISA method with commercial antisera according to recommended protocol (Bioreba, Switzerland). A total of 38 accessions were analyzed where every sample include at least 2 trees. Plum, cherry, sour cherry, apricot and peach samples were collected, but all positive samples were from different accessions of plum trees. In total, 16 (42%) of symptom and symptomless plum accessions resulted as positive. The aim of this study was to observe the presence of Plum pox virus for further propagation and recovery procedures of autochthonous accessions of different stone fruits that exist in the collection of the Institute of Genetic Resources
BIOCONTROL POTENTIAL OF TRICHODERMA ATROVIRIDE AND BACILLUS SUBTILIS AGAINST ERYSIPHE NECATOR UNDER FIELD CONDITIONS
Powdery mildew of grapevine, Erysiphe necator, is a very destructive grape disease, causing great economic production losses. That is why, regular fungicide applications are required. In recent years, due to the rise of the environmental awareness, alternative methods in controlling various plant diseases have slowly taken over the primacy from the classic chemical control. The aim of these experiments was to study the possibility for biological control of powdery mildew of grapevine with novel biofungicides Vintec (a.i. Trichoderma atroviride strain SC1) and Serenade Aso (a.i. Bacillus subtilis strain QST 713). Experiments were conducted during 2023 in the regions of Demir Kapija and Negotino, on two grape varieties, Riesling and Vranec. In the untreated variant in Negotino region, very high level of disease severity (44.8%) on bunches was observed, which demonstrated the destructive potential of this disease in our country. In Demir Kapija region, significantly lower level of disease severity was observed in the untreated variant (7.6%). In conditions of very high levels of disease severity, both of the tested biofungicides showed comparable and good fungicide effectiveness, above 90% (Serenade Aso – 94.64 % and Vintec – 97.03 %). In the region of Demir Kapija, where the level of disease severity was lower, both biofungicides reached absolute efficacy performance of 100%
