This master’s thesis under the title “The Woman against the Patriarchal Conventions of the British Society in Jane Austen’s and Charlotte Brontë’s Novels” investigates the position of the English woman in the first half of the British nineteenth-century society. The corpus includes the following four novels: Pride and Prejudice and Emma by Jane Austen, and Jane Eyre and Shirley by Charlotte Brontë. The analysis in the thesis draws on some feminist thoughts of Virginia Woolf, Simone de Beauvoir and Elaine Showalter respectively, as well as on the sociological and cultural studies. The overview of the context in the thesis includes historical, social and cultural portrayal of British society in the first half of the nineteenth-century, relevant for the understanding of the selected corpus of fiction. In addition, the chapter dealing with the context also draws on Jane Austen`s and Charlotte Brontë’s lives correspondingly so that the reader can better understand their attitudes on the position of women, as each of them wrote from her own female experience. Thus, the aim of this master’s thesis is not only to expose the underprivileged position of women in the first half of the nineteenth century, but also to highlight the heroines’ struggles against the patriarchal conventions of British society of that time. Through their female characters, Austen and Brontë raised the voice of the English women of the first half of the nineteenth century, empowering them to express their feelings and thoughts as well as to fight for their love, ambitions and ideals. Thus, this master’s thesis shows that Austen and Brontë not only gained ground on the male writers in the first half of the nineteenth century, but they began to rival them. The two women writers have established themselves as distinguished novelists, preoccupied with the daily lives of the genteel women in the domestic sphere, focusing on the question of their marriage, always resolved through the heroines’ successful fight against the patriarchal conventions. This master’s thesis under the title “The Woman against the Patriarchal Conventions of the British Society in Jane Austen’s and Charlotte Brontë’s Novels” investigates the position of the English woman in the first half of the British nineteenth-century society. Acquisition of a foreign language is a process in which people learn a foreign language in addition to their native language. A foreign language is a term used to describe the acquisition of any language after the native language is acquired . Over the past three decades, the number of different theories for foreign language acquisition has increased in order to make explanations available on how language learning takes place, to correctly identify the variables responsible for foreign language acquisition, and to provide assistance for foreign language teachers. Theories of foreign language acquisition have been developed in conjunction with theories of native language acquisition. Linguistic studies were focused on foreign language acquisition, trying to learn how can be it acquired, describing the different levels of development, and carefully considering whether the acquisition of a foreign language follows the same way as the acquisition of the native languаge.Acquisition of a foreign language is a process in which people learn a foreign language in addition to their native language. Употребата на англизми во секојдневниот говор на адолесцентите во Република Северна Македонија: експозе од магистерски труд
The widespread use of the English language has impacted a number of languages, such as French, German, Spanish, etc. in the form of new vocabulary, uncharacteristic for the receiving language. Numerous linguists and researchers have debated about this occurrence, and in recent years it is becoming a hot topic once again. We decided to look into the usage of anglicisms, as well as the reasons for it, among adolescents in the Republic of N. Macedonia, since this group is the most prone to the influence of English. Anglicisms are defined as words or phrases borrowed from the English language into a foreign language. We hypothesised that adolescents would opt for an anglicism rather than the Macedonian equivalent, and their reasons would be either because it sounds more natural to them or because they are more acquainted with it through their peers or social media. To test our hypotheses, we conducted an online survey, which contained open questions, where the adolescents could express themselves in more detail, and fixed questions containing pairs of sentences. The analysis of the results confirmed our hypotheses – adolescents do opt for an anglicism even when given the choice of a Macedonian equivalent, and their reasons to do so are mainly that it sounds more natural to them or that they are more acquainted with it.It can be concluded that adolescents are quite influenced by English either through their peers or the media, and, even when given the choice, they feel more comfortable using an anglicism rather than a Macedonian equivalent. The widespread use of the English language has impacted a number of languages, such as French, German, Spanish, etc. in the form of new vocabulary, uncharacteristic for the receiving language. THE PRUNING SYSTEM AS A FACTOR FOR THE QUALITY OF THE GRAPES FROM THE VRANEC VARIETY
Vranec variety is the most important and most represented variety for production of red wines in Republic of Macedonia. It provides raw material for production of quality and excellent red wines. Today, it is present in all warm vineyards, and on smaller areas it is represented in the rest of vineyards. In our research, the impact of the system of pruning on the yield and quality of grapes of this variety in the conditions of Tikvesh winegrowing region was studied. Three variants of pruning were applied: Guyot - Poussard pruning, double Guyot and cordon pruning. The highest yield of 4.368 g/vine and the highest average grape mass of 312 g was obtained by cordon pruning.
The lowest yield of 3.709 g/vine was obtained by Guyot - Poussard pruning, while the double Guyot pruning system obtained the lowest average mass of grapes (214,2 g) but this system shows fruity shoots per vine and the largest number of bunches per vine. The theoretical randman ranges from 71.47 % (double Guyot) to 80.0 % (cordon pruning). The sugar content at the time of harvest ranges from 21.0 g/l (cordon pruning) to 22.8 g/l (Guyot - Poussard), while the total acid content is in range of 4.13 g/l (Guyot - Poussard) up to 4.7 g/l (cordon pruning). Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that the pruning system has a significant impact on the qualitative and quantitative properties of the grapes from Vranec variety
DETECTED MICROBIOLOGICAL ISOLATES IN MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS WHEN TAKING SAMPLES FOR ANALYSIS BY FOOD OPERATORS AND OFFICIAL VETERINARIANS IN THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA FOR THE PERIOD FROM 2016 TO 2020
Meat and meat processing industry make great efforts on a daily basis to improve technological processes and hygienic conditions. Competent institutions take appropriate measures to prevent placing of unsafe product on the market. However, we witness a daily global increase in the number of people suffering from foodborne diseases. For the period 2016-2020, the Food and Veterinary Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia received a total of 686 reports from laboratories about the detected presence of an isolate (positive finding) from samples taken by official veterinarians, food operators, and consumers. Isolates (positive findings) in meat and meat products were detected in 288 or 41.98% of the total analyzed samples. Campylobacter spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. are the most frequent potential pathogens. For the five-year analyzed period, the presence of an isolate of Salmonella spp. was determined in 164 samples of meat and meat products. The bacterium Essherichia coli is the second most frequently detected bacterium in meat and meat product samples, after Salmonella spp., with a total of 48 samples with a positive finding for the analyzed period. The bacterium Listeria monocytogenes was detected in 39 samples of meat and meat products. An isolate of Campylobacter spp. was determined in a total of 28 samples of meat and meat products. By the Food and Veterinary Agency according to the annual food safety monitoring program were aimed at preventing the development of foodborne diseases
SECURITY THREATS FORMS IN THE CONTEXT OF PRIVATE PROTECTION OF PEOPLE AND PROPERTY
This paper will present different forms of endangering security from the aspect of discussion in the protection of people and property. In today’s time of technological development, liberalization of the public security sector and physical border security, the setting of democratic standards has opened up large gaps to which the state sector does not have an adequate response. The answer lies in expensive technical equipment and practical training of personnel, which, however, many countries cannot afford. In addition, different interpretations of legal provisions, lack of competent personnel, although officially there are qualified personnel, in addition to that open space, allows various forms of endangering security in the interior of the state territory, and increasingly demanding challenges are posed to various security subjects. In order to protect people and property, the private security sector has been imposed, which often grows into private armies, which we havein the examples of the former Balck Waters, or Academi, up to today’s Wagner group. The main goal of this paper is to show the forms of threats to security, and to set the limits of engagement of private agencies for the security of property and persons. The subject of the work is the classification of security threats. The problem of this work arises from the subject, and it refers to the correct detection of threats to security, which contributes to the adequate reaction of security entities. This work has universal significance because it is about general, universal forms of security threats that can happen anywhere and anytime. Especially the countries of the Balkans are vulnerable, given the results of the post-socialist tradition. Therefore, it is not necessary to give a spatial and temporal determination of the processing of the mentioned topic. Nevertheless, a review of the topic of the importance of endangering security is from Bosnia and Herzegovina, where it is a decentralized state with decentralized security authorities that are very often an obstacle to achieving complete security or a more or less high level of security
