МОРЛАКИЗАМ КАО ИМАГОЛОШКИ ЕКСПЕРИМЕНТ У РОМАНУ „МЛАДЕНКА КОСТОНОГА“ ЖЕЛИМИРА ПЕРИША

    No full text
This paper presents an analysis of the novel Boney-legged Bride by the Croatian writer Želimir Periš through the dichotomy of morlachism. This dichotomy involves a condescending attitude toward the inferior Other – most frequently seen from the perspective of a Western, “civilized” individual toward someone from the East. Such an attitude is typically illustrated by ascribing a particular ethnic name to that inferior Other. The second element of the morlachism dichotomy is the portrayal of the culture and customs of the Slavic population of the Adriatic hinterland, modeled on the travelogue Travel to Dalmatia by Abbot Alberto Fortis. This includes descriptions of their superstitions (witches, vampires, etc.), historical-cultural phenomena such as hajduks and blood feuds, as well as folk customs that emphasize decasyllabic verses and folk singing accompanied by the gusle. This work seeks to demonstrate how the author grounds his entire novel in the dichotomy of morlachism through imagological concepts of hetero-representations and auto-representations. Through these experimental approaches, the author subjects both the kinship and identity of the superior and inferior to irony, as well as his own identity as an author. He further satirizes the relationship of that Other – whose cultural framework encompasses both the author and the reader – with respect to their own culture and tradition, achieving this through narrative methods as well as various plays with style, language, and other literary techniques.

The Cyril and Methodius Route, as a part of the Council of Europe Cultural Routes programme, established in 2013 as an international network of countries and partners, commemorates and affirms the legacy of Saints Cyril and Methodius in relation to European cultural heritage. Their educational mission left an indelible mark on the cultural heritage of the peoples of Europe. This program, dedicated to the Cultural Route of Cyril and Methodius, offers a model for scientific research and development, affirmation of European cultural heritage, cultural and educational exchange of young people in Europe, development of management in cultural tourism, etc. Ss. Cyril and Methodius’ cultural heritage has a long and deep tradition in the territory of R N. Macedonia, evident in both tangible and intangible cultural forms. The new perspectives in cultural tourism related to the Cyril and Methodius cultural heritage on Macedonian territory can be treated as both a cultural and an economic activity related to events and organized trips, aimed at exploring cultural forms such as: historical monuments, architectural complexes, as well as artistic, religious, educational and informative events of an academic nature. The original Cyril and Methodius medieval heritage on the territory of Macedonia is remarkably preserved, evident and important for the contemporary inhabitants of Europe and represents an excellent potential for cultural tourism. In the presentation, we highlight as particularly significant the strategies in the implementation of new practices in the development activities of the Saints Cyril and Methodius Route on Macedonian soil, consistent with the practices in other member countries of the Route itself.

This paper is focused on the images of women based on exaamples from zoonymic phraseology in Macedonian and Russian. It is an attempt to determine similarities or possible differences in the zoonyms that are most often used for this purpose, and based on this to determine the stereotypes of women in both cultures and possible changes in relation to the traditional and contemporary representation of women.

    POLITICS AND RELIGION

There is almost no other common evolution of two phenomena that builds its uniquenessand specificity on overlapping and separating at the same time, like the relationship betweenpolitics and religion. The axis around which both phenomena exist is the man, or in more recenttimes from the aspect of their political awareness - the citizen. The specificity of the coexistenceof politics and religion, among other things, is based on the complexity of individual phenomena,on their place and role in social processes. What politics and religion have in common is thattheir identity is based on the concrete complemented by the abstract. In other words, their scopeof action moves beyond the limits of the rational and empirically verified. The key to explainingthis challenge is that both phenomena have belief as spiritus movens in their essence. One of thecharacteristics of the historical evolution and mutual influence of politics and religion is the processof refining, i.e. building one’s own identity. In the beginning it was more difficult to make thedemarcation between them to establish the special specificity and identity, today modern societiesestablish the distinction to the point of absolute incompatibility. Even the personification of thetwo phenomena was in the beginning in the same persons, i.e. in one person it had the legitimacyto communicate with God at the same time and rule the people. In the past, one person usuallyclaimed the right to the secular and the sacred, today those roles are clearly differentiated in differentpersons. Taken at the national level, Macedonia throughout history has built its own specificitywhen it comes to the relationship between politics and religion. Its specificity is based on thehistorical fact that glorifies our country as the country through which Christianity was spread onEuropean soil, and is one of the routes for the spread of Islam in Europe. Today’s contemporaryreality characterizes it as a multiethnic and multiconfessional country

RESHAPING NORTH MACEDONIA: THE NAME CHANGE AND THE PRESPA AGREEMENT

The Balkans have been a significant region in political history. Despite being asmall, mountainous country without a coastline, Macedonia’s territory has been a significantregion throughout history, attracting the attention of major powers due to its strategiclocation. Following the breakup of Yugoslavia in 1991, Macedonia declared its independence.During this period, Greece reacted strongly against the independence. In this context, NorthMacedonia has been experiencing a name and other crisis. According to Greece, Macedoniadoesn’t have the territory to use this name, flag, and the national anthem. In addition, theyblame to Macedonia with appropriate to Greek cultural values as, Vergina Sun, Alexanderthe Great. Also, the statue of Alexander the Great built in the center of Skopje, renamingof Skopje airport to “Alexander the Great Airport,” and the description of the ThessalonikiTower on the Macedonian currency have all been perceived as provocative actions by Greece.Greece identifies Macedonia’s historical and cultural heritage with its own identity, whilethe presence of minorities also raises concerns. Additionally, the fact that the preambleof the “Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia” states that the principles of the 1944ASNOM Declaration are inherited and emphasizes that Macedonians living in the territoriesof Greece and Bulgaria will be united under the Macedonian Socialist Republic, constitutesone of the main reasons for Greece’s concerns. Greece has clearly opposed the use of thename “Macedonia” by rejecting both the existence of the Macedonian minority living withinits borders and the recognition of the Macedonian nation. Greece has created internationalpressure for the resolution of the name issue by blocking Macedonia’s NATO and EuropeanUnion membership process. After the discussions, the Prespa Agreement was signed in 2018(Gounaris & Kofos, 2019)

In this paper, the authors examine the right of pre-emption established onreal estate (land parcels, building units, and other types of real estate). The authorsanalyze both contractual and legal rights of pre-emption since they lead to differentlegal consequences. When analyzing the right of pre-emption, the authors focus onthe exercise of these rights in enforcement proceedings, highlighting the problemsthat individuals face when exercising their rights during these proceedings. Thegiven analysis of the pre-emption right in this paper is a comparative one andincludes the Macedonian and Serbian legal systems. By giving a comparativeanalysis of the exercise of the right of pre-emption in enforcement proceedings, theauthors aim to underline the problems and offer legal solutions on how such issuescan be resolved in the Macedonian and Serbian legal systems. The authors call forthe adoption of a more efficient and contemporary regulation on the issue fromwhich both legal systems can benefit

LEGAL ASPECTS OF INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS IN THE TRANSPORT SECTOR

    Get PDF
Transport has a significant harmful impact on the environment, contributingto air, water and soil pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change.Burning fossil fuels in transportation means releases large amounts of CO₂ andother pollutants, degrading air quality and contributing to global warming.Transport also causes noise pollution and habitat destruction due to infrastructuredevelopment like roads and highways. On the other hand, sustainable transportseeks to minimise these negative effects by promoting cleaner technologies, suchas electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, and improving fuel efficiency.Industrial symbiosis in the transport sector refers to collaborative efforts betweencompanies to optimise resources, reduce waste, and improve energy efficiency.Industrial symbiosis in the transport sector can include recycling vehicles and theirparts, using alternative fuels, sharing infrastructure, etc. There are severalsuccessful practical examples of industrial symbiosis in the transport sector. Whileno single legal framework is dedicated solely to industrial symbiosis in transport, the legal aspects of this concept are covered through broader regulations related tosustainability, the circular economy, and emissions reduction. These legalframeworks include European Union directives and Member States\u27 national lawsas well as international treaties and rules of most important internationalorganisations dealing with transport. At the European Union level, the EuropeanGreen Deal is a key policy initiative to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Itencourages emissions reduction in the transport sector by promoting energyefficiency, vehicle electrification, and circular economy principles - keycomponents of industrial symbiosis. Within the Green Deal, the Circular EconomyAction Plan promotes recycling, waste reduction, and the sharing of resourcesacross industries, which is fundamental to industrial symbiosis. Industrialsymbiosis also includes legal aspects related to waste management (WasteFramework Directive), alternative fuels and energy regulations (Directive (EU)2018/2001 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources,Regulation (EU) 2019/631 setting CO2 emission performance standards for new passenger cars and for new light commercial vehicles), legislation on the use ofshared infrastructure, etc. However, inadequate legislation (regulation) is very oftenmentioned as a type of industrial symbiosis barrier. The paper lists various issues and regulations that regulate sustainability intransport. The paper presents the most important provisions of Europeanregulations aimed at reducing environmental pollution, especially those related totransport and those that mention industrial symbiosis as a form of environmentallyfriendly production and activity
