The Effect of Giving Educational Animated Videos and Booklets on Parents’ Knowledge About Stimulation of Language with Preschool Children
Language development is an important aspect of the golden period of child development, yet limited parental knowledge and inadequate stimulation may hinder optimal progress. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of education using animated videos and booklets in improving parents’ knowledge of language development stimulation in preschool-aged children. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test. The sample consisted of 120 parents divided into an intervention group (n=60) and a control group (n=60). The intervention group received a 10-minute animated video and a booklet, while the control group received a leaflet. All materials were delivered once via WhatsApp and studied independently with unrestricted access for review. The instrument used was a 15-item questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge in both groups, with a greater improvement in the intervention group (7.63 to 12.10) compared to the control group (7.52 to 8.90). Independent t-test analysis indicated a significant difference between groups (p = 0.001). The study concludes that animated videos and booklets are more effective than leaflets in enhancing parental knowledge. These findings support the utilization of accessible digital media as a sustainable strategy in educational programs at posyandu, early childhood education centers, and parenting trainings
Relationship between Obesity Incidence and Fast Food Consumption Habits in Children
Childhood obesity remains a growing public health problem worldwide, including in Indonesia. One of the contributing factors is the increased consumption of fast food among children. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the frequency of fast food consumption and the incidence of obesity among elementary school children as an effort to provide scientific evidence for obesity prevention at an early age. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach involving 70 children aged 7–12 years from selected through purposive sampling due to the high prevalence of fast food consumption and early findings showing an increase in obesity cases in the area. Data were collected using questionnaires on fast food consumption and measurements of body mass index (BMI) as an indicator of nutritional status. The chi-square test revealed a significant relationship between the frequency of fast food consumption and the incidence of obesity (p < 0.05). Although fast food consumption was found to contribute to obesity, other factors such as genetic predisposition, physical activity level, and social environmental influences may also play a role and should be considered in future studies. The findings highlight the importance of promoting nutritional education for children and parents, implementing school-based interventions, and regulating the availability of fast food around the school environment as preventive measures to control childhood obesity
Constructing the Teacher Self: The Role of Initial Teacher Education in Shaping Pre Service English Teacher Professional Identity
This study explores how initial teacher education (ITE) influence professional identity construction of pre service English teachers in rural Islamic-based schools in Indonesian context. Employing multiple case study design with six pre service teachers, the research utilized semi-structured interview. Findings reveal that initial motivation for teaching are varied, inspired by past educators, yet frequently accompanied by an underestimation of teaching complexity. Academic training provides foundational knowledge, but the practicum serves as a critical “reality shock,” profoundly reshaping perceptions and shifting focus from content delivery to a holistic understanding of teaching. The unique rural and religious context actively compels pedagogical adaptation, influence role perception and facilitate the integration of personal values. Support system, mentorship and peer networks are crucial for confidence development. The understanding of “being teacher” evolves from a task-oriented role to a multi-faceted agent committed to students’ holistic development. These insights underscore the need for ITE programs to enhance practicum design, strengthen mentorship and foster resilience and adaptability to support comprehensive professional identity development of future teachers

INTERPRETING TOLERANCE FROM A LOCAL PERSPECTIVE: AGH. DAUD ISMAIL’S THOUGHTS ON INTERFAITH RELATIONS IN TAFSIR AL-MUNIR
The phenomena of religious intolerance and conflict continues to pose a serious challenge in multicultural societies both at the national and global levels. This situation underscores the importance of formulating a concept of religious tolerance that is not merely normative, but also contextual and rooted in local scholarly traditions. In this context, Nusantara exegesis plays a strategic role in articulating a moderate Islamic perspective that is relevant to social realities. This article aims to analyze the concept of interfaith tolerance in Tafsir Al-Munir by AGH. Daud Ismail as a representation of local Qur’anic interpretation in responding to contemporary global issues of tolerance. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. The primary source of data is Tafsir Al-Munir written in Lontara script, while secondary sources include books, journal articles, and other relevant studies. Data were analyzed through content analysis of Qur’anic verses and exegetical discussions related to interreligious tolerance. The results of the study show that Daud formulates tolerance in two forms, namely passive tolerance and active tolerance. Passive tolerance is applied to matters of faith and worship that manifested in the prohibition of coercion in belief and rejection of ritual syncretism. Active tolerance, on the other hand, is applied within the socio-communal sphere and is reflected in principles of communication, cooperation, social justice, and rejection of hate speech. The study concludes that Daud Ismail’s thought makes an important contribution to the development of Nusantara Qur’anic interpretation and the broader discourse on religious moderation. Implicitly, the framework of active-passive tolerance offers a relevant reference for religious education and the promotion of social harmony grounded in local wisdom without obscuring the fundamental religious principles
INTEGRATION OF RELIGIOUS MODERATION IN TAFSIR LEARNING AND STRENGTHENING MODERATE ATTITUDES OF STUDENTS IN THE QUR’ANIC STUDIES AND TAFSIR PROGRAM IN BENGKULU
This study examines how moderate hermeneutics is integrated and enacted within Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) courses and how these pedagogical choices relate to students’ dispositions toward religious moderation in an Indonesian Islamic higher-education setting. Using a qualitative descriptive design, we analyzed course documents (11 syllabi/RPS), conducted classroom observations (n=12 sessions), and interviewed lecturers (n=6) and students (n=24) purposively sampled across cohorts. Data were thematically coded with analyst triangulation and member checking. Three integration pathways were identified: (1) canon selection privileging Indonesian and maqāṣid-oriented tafsir (e.g., al-Misbah, al-Azhar), (2) dialogic routines that normalize interpretive plurality and disagreement, and (3) assessment shifts from recall to reflective and context-applied tasks. Students reported increased comfort with difference and heightened sensitivity to justice- and mercy-oriented Qur’anic values; however, attitudinal change varied with prior schooling and organizational affiliations. The study contributes an actionable model linking hermeneutical stance to pedagogical routines and affective outcomes in interpretive education. Findings suggest that explicitly framing wasat}iyyah within textual analysis, coupled with dialogic pedagogy, is associated with stronger moderation dispositions, underscoring the need for systematic outcome measures and longitudinal follow-up
Islamic Religious Pedagogy and Affective Literacy: Constructing Socio-Emotional Education Frameworks
The demand for socio-emotional competencies in education increasingly emphasizes the importance of integrating affective literacy into Islamic pedagogy. This study aims to develop a framework for socio-emotional education grounded in Islamic values by examining affective literacy practices in religious learning. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through interviews with teachers and students, classroom observations, non-formal activities, and document analysis. These data were then analyzed through data condensation, display, and verification. The results of the study show three main findings: first, Islamic pedagogy is successfully integrated with affective literacy by linking verses and hadiths to students' emotional experiences; second, non-formal activities function as a socio-emotional laboratory to train empathy, patience, and cooperation; third, these practices produce a comprehensive framework that includes Qur'anic values, reflective learning, non-formal practices, and ongoing development. This study contributes by offering an Islamic alternative to the Western Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) model. This study recommends the application of an Islamic-based socio-emotional framework to strengthen moral and emotional intelligence in various educational institutions
The Role of Local Government in Providing Protection and Educational Support for Female Workers in the Informal Sector
This study aims to analyze the role of local governments in protecting and providing educational support to female workers in the informal sector, with a focus on those engaged in nighttime economic activities. As the number of women in the informal sector rises, they face various risks without sufficient protection, highlighting the need for government intervention. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from government agencies and female workers in the sector. The findings reveal that the local government's role is not fully optimized. As a regulator, there are no specific local regulations to protect female workers. As a facilitator, efforts to coordinate and provide mentoring remain fragmented. In its protective role, the government's actions are limited to general socialization and security patrols without direct protection programs. As a service provider, public services fail to address the real needs of these workers. The study concludes that the local government's role needs strengthening across all areas—regulation, facilitation, protection, and service provision—through the establishment of targeted policies, improved coordination, and the creation of sustainable, needs-based protection programs to ensure the welfare and safety of women in the informal sector
