    Get PDF
The Independent Curriculum  policy, initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, brings about major changes in the national education system by emphasizing the Pancasila-based student profile and learning autonomy. For Islamic educational institutions, this policy requires a managerial and pedagogical reorientation to remain aligned with Islamic values. This study aims to analyze the management of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum from an Islamic education perspective, specifically in interpreting the policy and implementing strategies at the educational unit level. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was obtained through document analysis, n-depth interviews, and participatory observation in several Islamic schools implementing the Independent Curriculum. The research results show that Islamic educational institutions adaptively interpret and implement the Independent Curriculum while maintaining their Islamic identity. The strategies implemented include; Integrating Islamic values into all subjects through a monotheistic epistemological approach, Strengthening the role of Islamic Religious Education and Character Education, and Developing Islamic-influenced projects, such as waqf-based social entrepreneurship. In conclusion, the management of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic educational institutions is adaptive, creative, and contextual, guided by an Islamic educational vision. The implication is that policymakers need to understand the characteristics of Islamic institutions, while educational administrators are required to have strategic capacity to manage change without losing their Islamic mission

EPISTEMOLOGY OF NATURAL SCIENCES IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: CHALLENGES AND ONTOLOGICAL TRANSFORMATIONS

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the epistemological and ontological transformations occurring in the natural sciences in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, using data sources from scientific literature and recent articles. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify key patterns related to changes in the way scientific knowledge is acquired, validated, and understood. The results show that the emergence of AI has shifted the epistemological paradigm of the natural sciences, where the process of knowledge production and validation no longer relies entirely on human observation and reasoning, but also on the ability of algorithms to process large-scale data. This condition presents new challenges in the form of the risk of algorithmic bias, reduced scientific transparency, and ethical dilemmas related to the responsibility and accountability of research results. Ontologically, AI also creates new forms of reality through digital models and simulations that are often considered to represent scientific reality. This change demands an update in how the natural sciences understand the concepts of "reality" and "scientific truth." Therefore, an adaptive epistemological and ethical framework for technology is needed so that AI can be used responsibly without eliminating the role of humans as the primary subjects of knowledge. This research emphasizes that collaboration between humans and AI must be based on the principles of transparency, interpretability, and humanity to ensure that science remains credible, inclusive, and meaningful

DIGITAL ETHICS IN THE POST-TRUTH ERA: REVISITING IBN ‘ĀSYŪR’S INTERPRETATION OF KHUTUWĀT AL-SHAYṬĀN

    Get PDF
This study explores digital ethics in the post-truth era by re-examining Ibn ‘Āsyūr’s interpretation of khutuwāt al-shayṭān (the steps of Satan). Employing a qualitative library research approach, it analyzes the primary text al-Taḥrīr wa al-Tanwīr alongside relevant contemporary literature. The findings indicate that Ibn ‘Āsyūr conceptualizes the steps of Satan as a gradual process that entices humans through subtle whispers until they become accustomed to deviant behavior. In today’s digital context, this idea resonates with algorithmic mechanisms of social media and the phenomenon of digital deception, which progressively cultivate bias, social polarization, and destructive patterns of behavior. The analysis highlights Ibn ‘Āsyūr’s emphasis on the necessity of self-control from the very outset. Accordingly, this research proposes the framework of a safeguarding fortress that integrates three interrelated dimensions: rational (critical thinking), psychological (self-regulation), and spiritual-ethical (moral awareness and divine guidance). Ultimately, digital ethics in the post-truth age cannot be sustained merely through technical literacy but must also be reinforced by a transcendental awareness that enables individuals to withstand the pervasive spread of informational illusions and disinformation

IMPLICATIONS OF VARIOUS QIRAAH MUTAWATIRAH ON THE INTERPRETATION OF LEGAL VERSES

    Get PDF
This article discusses the implications of the variety of mutawatirah qiraah on the interpretation of legal verses. The Qur'an, viewed from a historical perspective, cannot be separated from the various ways of reading or aspects of qiraah. Starting from the emergence of different versions of readings that were influenced by differences in Arab dialects at that time, then Uthman bin Affan took steps to copy the Qur'an as a form of maintaining the authenticity of the manuscript. History records that the differences in the readings of the companions at that time were in accordance with what was taught by the Prophet Muhammad Saw. However, scholars agree that there are several qualifications for the quality of qiraah, such as mutawatirah qiraah, masyhurah qiraah, and syadzah qiraah. The diversity of qiraah cannot be denied its existence which indirectly has implications for interpretation. Both determine the quality of an interpretation-deriving of fiqh law. This research uses a literature study model

MODERNIZATION OF ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL: ADAPTATION OF TRADITIONAL VALUES IN CONTEMPORARY ISLAMIC EDUCATION

    Get PDF
This study aims to describe the dynamics of modernization within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), the strategies adopted to preserve traditional values in the modern era, and the challenges as well as implications of these changes for their Islamic identity. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review and document analysis. The findings indicate that the modernization of pesantren occurs dynamically through transformations in systems, curricula, and educational orientations while maintaining core Islamic values. In responding to modern developments, pesantren have adopted integrative strategies such as combining religious and general education, implementing digital technology, and improving management practices based on transparency and efficiency. However, modernization also presents challenges, particularly concerns about the erosion of simplicity and spirituality that characterize pesantren life. Nevertheless, pesantren have demonstrated their ability to adapt selectively, preserving their Islamic identity and scholarly tradition amid ongoing social change

    Get PDF
This study explores the endogenous development capacity of female ecological migrants in Guizhou Province, China. Using a quantitative survey of 945 female migrants, the research investigates the challenges in economic production, social participation, psychological adjustment, and household management. Results reveal that although these women possess strong ecological awareness and safety knowledge, they face significant limitations in production capacity, especially in agricultural production and entrepreneurial skills. Age and educational attainment are critical influencing factors; older women and those with lower educational attainment demonstrate weaker adaptive abilities. The study proposes a "problem-education-application" model and recommends vocational training, community-based education programs, and the creation of flexible employment opportunities. This research contributes to sustainable development discourse by providing practical policy recommendations to empower female ecological migrants and improve their quality of life in resettlement areas. Findings offer practical guidance for gender-sensitive ecological resettlement policies and sustainable capacity-building programs

The Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) is a critical tool for ensuring the quality of higher education. However, SET results do not always comprehensively capture students' perspectives. Factors such as ambiguous evaluation forms, varying interpretations of questions, and the influence of non-academic factors on student responses can impact the reliability of the results. This research aims to reveal students' positive perceptions of the SET and uncover students' negative perceptions of the SET. This study employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The participants consisted of eight informants, including lecturers and students. Data collection methods included in-depth interviews. The data were analyzed using a thematic approach. The validity of the data was ensured through check and recheck, researcher diligence, time triangulation, researcher triangulation, rechecking, and confirmation with informants. The findings indicate that informants held positive and negative perceptions of various aspects of the learning process. Seven key criteria related to student satisfaction were identified, spanning both offline and online learning environments. These criteria were based on student evaluations conducted at the end of each semester. Overall, the perceptions provided by the informants were consistent with the lecturers' expertise and understanding in their respective fields
