    Get PDF
This study uses qualitative research to collect and process data obtained from respondents. Researchers asked 8 questions to find out whether Write and Improve with Cambridge is an effective tool for learning to write in the classroom. The researchers found 31 participants and there were 15 participants who agreed that Write and Improve is an effective tool for learning and want to master writing skills. In addition, researchers also revealed that there were 16 people who disagreed with Write and Improve with Cambridge as the only reference for learning to master writing skills. They argue that the real-time feedback provided by the features of Write and Improve with Cambridge is less contextual.  The participants explained that the feedback provided by this application was too "bot or AI" and could not be sure that the correction was correct. They also explained that the feedback given was too focused on grammatical rather than complex writing styles such as the use of language and varied sentence structures. The results of this study were that as many as 16 participants used other applications besides Write and Improve with Cambridge, while the other 15 participants would use the application in their classrooms when they became English teachers

    Get PDF
The instruction of Sharaf in many Islamic boarding schools remains dominated by teacher-centered and memorization-based methods, resulting in low student engagement and limited conceptual mastery. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the concept mapping method in improving students’ learning outcomes and motivation in shorof instruction. Employing a mixed-methods approach with an embedded quasi-experimental design, the research was conducted at the Islamic Boarding School , involving 24 third-semester students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through observations, interviews, pretests, posttests, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings reveal a significant improvement in the experimental class, with the average score increasing from 63.42 to 90.50, compared to the control class (71.67 to 80.67). Statistical analysis confirmed effectiveness (sig. = 0.014 < 0.05), supported by a high student satisfaction rate (90.3%). This study contributes empirical evidence on the application of concept mapping in shorof learning and recommends its integration into pesantren-based Arabic instruction to enhance conceptual understanding and learner engagement

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the influence of reference groups, trust, and tradition on customers’ decisions to use Islamic gold pawn services, with education as a moderating variable. The research was motivated by the growing public interest in Islamic gold pawn products at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Tulang Bawang Barat Branch, which is influenced not only by economic factors but also by social, cultural, and educational aspects. The study employed a quantitative associative approach with 59 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an online questionnaire (Google Form) and analyzed with SPSS version 25, including validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to examine the role of education as a moderating variable. The findings reveal that reference groups, trust, and tradition have a positive and significant effect on customer decisions, both partially and simultaneously. Among these variables, tradition has the most dominant influence on decision-making. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.812 indicates that 81.2% of the variation in customer decisions is explained by these three variables, while the remaining 18.8% is affected by other factors not examined in this study. The results emphasize that social and cultural factors play a crucial role in shaping customers’ behavior toward Islamic financial products. Therefore, Islamic financial institutions are encouraged to strengthen marketing strategies based on trust, tradition, and financial education to enhance public participation in Islamic pawn services

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to ascertain how State Islamic University of North Sumatra (UINSU) Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business (FEBI) students use online loan services in connection to loan accessibility and financial planning. The background of this study is the rise in student use of online loan services, which are typically used to finance lifestyle needs rather than necessities. Through purposive sampling, 100 students were chosen to take part in the survey for this associative quantitative study. SPSS version 25 and multiple linear regression were used for data analysis. Purposive sampling was used to select 100 students for this study, which employs an associative approach and survey method. A p-value of 0.000 and a regression coefficient of 0.638 demonstrate that loan accessibility has a significant and positive impact on consumer behavior.  A regression coefficient of 0.438 and a p-value of 0.000 show that financial planning has a significant and advantageous effect.  Both variables have a significant impact on consumer behavior, as evidenced by the significance value of 0.000 and the F-count value of 93.419 (which is higher than the F-table value of 3.09), respectively.  With a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.658, financial planning and loan accessibility account for 65.8% of the variation in student consumption patterns.  The remaining 34.2% are affected by factors that are not part of the research mode

This community service program was implemented at the Sabilus Salam Sharia Cooperative, Notorejo Hamlet, Wonosalam District, Jombang Regency, East Java. It involved 25 farmers and 10 cooperative members, and was facilitated by a service team consisting of four lecturers and one master’s (S2) student. The uniqueness of this program lies in the utilization of kascing (earthworm castings) based on the local wisdom of Wonosalam, integrated with the use of local organic waste and the strengthening of cooperative institutions through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. This distinguishes the program from conventional organic fertilizer training, which is typically one-directional. The objective of the activity was to enhance farmers’ capacity to produce and apply both liquid and solid organic fertilizers based on kascing, in order to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and improve soil quality. The methods employed included socialization, participatory training, field assistance, and experimental demonstration plots. Standardized laboratory test results indicated an increase in soil pH from 3.25 to 5.42, organic carbon (C-organic) from 0.23% to 0.53%, as well as improvements in the levels of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Post-training evaluation showed that 84% of participants understood the stages of kascing fertilizer production, and 72% had applied it on their respective farms. Overall, the program proved effective in measurably improving soil quality and strengthening the independence of farmers and the cooperative in developing sustainable agriculture based on local resources.

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the strengthening of Islamic character values through the implementation of digital storytelling in the learning process. The research is motivated by the need to present a contextual and engaging learning approach that aligns with the characteristics of the digital generation while maintaining Islamic moral principles. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research involved teachers and students in learning activities using digital media such as videos, audio recordings, and narrative slides featuring stories of the Prophets, companions, and Islamic moral tales. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that digital storytelling effectively instills Islamic character values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and care. Teachers act as innovators, transforming conventional lectures into interactive digital narratives, while students actively participate as creators of moral content, enhancing their moral understanding through direct experience. Moreover, the successful integration of digital storytelling is supported by the school’s religious culture and community involvement, including parents and local religious figures, who reinforce students’ moral environments. This study concludes that strengthening Islamic character education in the digital era requires not only the use of modern media but also the synergy of values, culture, and technology within a cohesive learning ecosystem

Evaluating Food Security Policy Implementation: An Adaptive Governance Approach with Educational Implications

    Get PDF
This study evaluates the implementation of food security policies in Padang City through an adaptive governance approach, integrating William N. Dunn’s (2017) evaluation framework. The research aims to assess how local institutions, policy actors, and socio-ecological contexts influence the effectiveness, efficiency, equity, responsiveness, and appropriateness of food security programs. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with officials from the Food and Fisheries Agency, local business actors, and beneficiary communities, alongside document analysis of regional policy reports. The findings indicate that while programs such as “Gerakan Pangan Murah” (GPM), “Pekarangan Pangan Lestari” (P2L), and “Cadangan Pangan Pemerintah Daerah” (CPPD) contribute to local food access, challenges include limited budgets, weak cross-sectoral coordination, and low community participation. The adaptive governance framework reveals that local food policies in Padang are moderately effective but not yet efficient or equitable due to institutional fragmentation and insufficient climate adaptation integration. The study recommends strengthening inter-agency collaboration, developing data-based food information systems, and promoting participatory food diversification strategies. For education, these findings highlight the importance of integrating food security awareness and adaptive governance into educational curricula to foster future leaders who can address these challenges effectively

The Influence of Al-Quran Reading Fluency and Self-Confidence on the Reading Mastery of Islamic Boarding School

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the influence of Quranic reading fluency and self-confidence on students' mastery of Quranic reading at Ma'had Al-Hidayah, Batu City. The background of this study stems from the importance of Quranic reading skills as a foundation for students in understanding classical religious texts (yellow books), as well as the role of self-confidence as a psychological factor that fosters courage and active participation in the learning process. This study used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression. The sample consisted of 40 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires and Quranic reading ability tests, then analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that simultaneously, Quranic reading fluency and self-confidence had a positive and significant effect on students' mastery of Quranic reading, contributing 49.7%. Partially, Quranic reading fluency exerted a more dominant influence than self-confidence. These findings indicate that linguistic skills derived from familiarizing themselves with reading the Quran serve as the primary foundation for understanding the yellow text, while self-confidence strengthens students' mental readiness and courage in the learning process. This research emphasizes the importance of implementing integrative learning strategies that balance cognitive and affective aspects in Islamic boarding school education to optimally improve students' Quran literacy skills

Towards an Inclusive Campus: Exploring the Physical and Non-Physical Challenges for Students with Disabilities in Higher Education

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze accessibility for people with disabilities in higher education, focusing on both physical and non-physical dimensions as part of inclusive campus policies. A qualitative approach was used, employing interviews, observations, and document reviews of campus policies and facilities. The results show that, in the physical aspect, several facilities, such as ramps, accessible toilets, and wheelchairs, have been provided in the main buildings. However, issues such as limited distribution, the lack of elevators, and outdated building designs that do not meet universal design standards hinder mobility and academic participation. In terms of non-physical accessibility, the institution has established a Disability Service Unit and a social inclusion unit as part of its commitment. Informal social support from lecturers and peers is also available, though there is a shortage of professional assistants. There is a need for enhanced training, policy coordination, and a more inclusive organizational structure. The implications of this research provide policy recommendations based on social models and universal design principles to improve inclusive campuses. Future research could expand to comparative studies at the national level

Public Relations Innovation in the Digital Era: Building Public Organizations' Reputations Through Social Media

    Get PDF
The development of digital technology has changed the paradigm of public communication, particularly in the public relations practices of public organisations. The main challenge for public relations in the digital era is how to build and maintain an institution's reputation amid the rapid, dynamic flow of information. This study aims to analyse the forms of digital public relations innovation that utilise social media as a strategic space for building public reputation. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach, employing library-based research techniques to analyse literature, scientific journals, and digital documents related to public communication and reputation management. The results show that public relations innovation in the digital era encompasses three main aspects: transforming public relations from a communicator to a digital reputation manager, optimising social media for public dialogue, and using data analysis and information transparency to strengthen public trust. These innovations significantly enhance the legitimacy, credibility, and positive image of public institutions. Thus, digital public relations functions not only as a disseminator of information, but also as a participatory and strategic relationship manager in building organisational reputation in the digital era
