    Get PDF
This study focuses on the philosophy of social science in the context of climate change with the aim of exploring the ontological transformation of human-nature relations at the local level. How do communities reconstruct their views of nature from an anthropocentric paradigm towards a more relational ecological consciousness that has implications for everyday social practices? The method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation in Sumberjo Village, Ambulu District, Jember Regency, East Java. Data analysis was conducted thematically using the Miles and Huberman model to interpret community experiences related to climate change. The results of the study show a shift in the community's perspective, which no longer views nature solely as an object of exploitation, but as a partner in sustainable living. This is reflected in adaptive agricultural practices, spiritual interpretations of disasters, and social criticism of the unfair distribution of climate impacts. The implications of this research emphasize the need for social science philosophy to develop a new ontological framework that integrates local experiences, traditional knowledge, and modern epistemology to strengthen ecological justice and sustainable climate adaptation policies

    Get PDF
Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping students' character in the era of globalization, marked by the rapid flow of information and technological developments, which, on the one hand, open wider access to knowledge but, on the other hand, pose a threat to the morality of the younger generation. This study aims to examine the relevance of PAI in strengthening students' faith, morality, and social values by examining social facts, international research findings, academic literature, and theoretical arguments. The research method uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies with content analysis of scientific journals, global institution reports, and Islamic education literature analyzed thematically. The results show that PAI plays a central role in instilling religious, tolerant, and humanistic character through value-based learning, habituation of worship, and teacher role models, with effectiveness greatly influenced by adaptive and contextual implementation strategies. These findings align with Lickona's character education theory and Bandura's social learning theory, and emphasize the urgency of strengthening an innovative, integrative, and multicultural PAI curriculum through collaboration between schools, families, and the community.

In the era of globalization and increasingly stringent demands for transparency, Islamic educational institutions such as the Nurul Qur'an Foundation face challenges in realizing effective, accountable governance that is oriented towards improving the quality of education. These challenges include the integration of long-term strategic planning, performance measurement systems, and the application of good governance principles. This study aims to analyze in depth how the integration of the Strategic Plan (Renstra), the Balanced Scorecard (BSC), and Good Governance principles is applied in the governance of the Nurul Qur'an Foundation. The research approach used is a qualitative case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with foundation administrators, participatory observation of managerial processes, and a review of the 2021–2025 Renstra document. Data analysis was conducted thematically by highlighting the relationship between strategic vision, performance indicators, and accountability mechanisms. The results show that the integration of Renstra, BSC, and Good Governance creates a more adaptive and transparent governance system, and is able to improve the effectiveness of planning and institutional accountability. This integrative model also has the potential to be applied in other Islamic educational foundations to strengthen institutional competitiveness and organizational sustainability

Islamic education in Indonesia faces multidimensional challenges in the contemporary era, not only in the form of intense competition between educational institutions but also increasingly complex quality demands and vulnerability to various crises. This article aims to comprehensively analyze the role of strategic management as a systematic approach to improving the quality of Islamic education. Through an in-depth literature review of various recent sources, this article outlines the nature of strategic management and the quality of Islamic education, identifies determinants that influence quality, explores the concept of crisis management in the context of Islamic education, and formulates a framework for effective strategic management implementation. The analysis shows that the quality of Islamic education is a multidimensional construct influenced by input factors (leadership, teachers, students, curriculum, infrastructure) and integrated managerial processes. The application of strategic management, which includes the stages of strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation, has proven effective in guiding Islamic educational institutions to achieve their goals in a more structured, measurable, and adaptive manner to environmental changes. Furthermore, crisis preparedness through sound crisis management is an integral part of institutional resilience amidst uncertainty. It was concluded that the integration of visionary strategic planning, consistent implementation, continuous evaluation, and crisis preparedness is a strategic key for Islamic educational institutions to not only survive but also excel in holistically and sustainably improving the quality of their education amidst the dynamics of the times

THE CONCEPT OF TIME: A STUDY OF SEMANTIC ANALYSIS AZ-ZAMAN

    Get PDF
Understanding the meaning of the az-zaman and its derivatives has implications not only theoretically (in interpretation, semantics, and theology), but also practically in how humans respond to the times, utilize them, and maintain the relevance of moral values amidst changing times. However, in the literature on interpretation and semantics, in-depth focus on the az-zaman is still limited, especially in contemporary studies that incorporate a modern semantic approach. The method used in this research is library research. This research refers to data derived from various literature such as books, journals, theses, dissertations, and so on. The primary literature in this study is the original text of the Qur'an, classical and contemporary interpretations (Ibn Kathir, Buya Hamka, Quraish Shihab, Al-Azhar interpretation, Al-Misbah interpretation). In semantic studies, the initial step is to refer to the root word as the starting point for basic meaning. The term az‑zaman comes from the Arabic root z–m–n (ز-م-ن). This root is lexically associated with the concepts of masa, time, duration, and temporal transition. This basic meaning is reflected in classical Arabic dictionaries such as Lisan al-Arab, Taj al-‘Arus, and Qamus al-Lughah, where zaman (زمن) is defined as a span of time, masa, era, period, or elapsed time. Time in its etymological sense is something that indicates a specific moment. The Qur’an uses various terms to refer to time, such as al-waqt, al-‘ashr, al-dahr, al-ajal, al-amad, and al-abad. Each term has a different meaning and emphasis. Al-‘ashr indicates the result of feelings or events. Al-amad emphasizes limited time, while al-abad indicates a very long time without limits

EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION THROUGH MOSQUES AND TAKLIM ASSEMBLY: A LIFELONG LEARNING MODEL FOR MUSLIM COMMUNITIES

    Get PDF
Mosques and Islamic study groups are two important institutions in Islamic education that have roots dating back to the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). However, in contemporary practice, their function is often limited to routine lectures without any innovation in curriculum or methods. This study aims to explore the transformation of mosque-based education and Islamic study groups through a library approach by examining primary sources (the Qur'an, hadith), academic literature, and recent research, particularly in East Kalimantan. The results of the study indicate that mosques and Islamic study groups can play a role as centers of lifelong learning through four main strategies: (1) expanding access to inclusive education for all groups; (2) developing a contextual curriculum that includes religious, digital, and socio-economic literacy; (3) implementing a blended learning model that combines face-to-face with digital platforms; and (4) strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships with universities, the government, and the community. The normative basis of QS. Al-'Alaq [96]:1, QS. At-Taubah [9]:18, and the Prophet's hadith regarding the obligation to seek knowledge emphasizes the relevance of this innovation to Islamic teachings. With the support of higher education institutions such as UINSI Samarinda, mosques and Islamic study groups in East Kalimantan have the potential to become centers of adaptive, moderate, and sustainable community-based Islamic education

    Get PDF
Rapid social and cultural changes, particularly as a result of advances in information and communication technology, present various challenges for Islamic education. Islamic education must be able to adapt to multicultural dynamics without sacrificing the fundamental values of religious teachings. This study examines the challenges arising from the implementation of multicultural education in an Islamic context and the threat of radicalism that can disrupt social harmony. The research was conducted through a literature review that synthesized various current literature on multiculturalism, radicalism, and Islamic education. The results indicate that Islamic education plays a strategic role in instilling values of tolerance, moderation, and respect for cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity in pluralistic Indonesia. Furthermore, Islamic education serves as a primary bulwark in preventing radicalism through curriculum strengthening, teacher training, and family and community involvement. An inclusive and adaptive approach to the curriculum, along with cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue, are key to building a harmonious, peaceful, and just society. Deradicalization efforts through Islamic education need to be systematically and sustainably designed to foster a moderate and open generation

    Get PDF
Operational risks in schools continue to rise in line with the increasing complexity of learning activities, the dynamic behavior of students, and the growing reliance on infrastructure and information technology. This study aims to analyze the types of operational risks at SMPN 50 Bandung, map their severity and likelihood levels, and evaluate the school’s mitigation strategies within the framework of modern risk management. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Informants included the principal, vice principal for facilities, teachers, security officers, administrative staff, and students. The findings identify five major categories of risk: student safety, infrastructure, environmental security, information technology, and student discipline. The severity–likelihood analysis shows that three risks fall into the high-risk category; electrical short circuits, unidentified visitors, and sports-related injuries—while others fall into medium and low categories. Mitigation strategies consist of preventive, corrective, and responsive actions, though implementation remains inconsistent due to limited budgets, human resources, and risk management literacy. The study recommends developing integrated risk SOPs, strengthening staff capacity, prioritizing infrastructure improvements, and conducting regular risk audits. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for other schools in enhancing safety culture and improving operational preparedness
