    Get PDF
The post-truth era has presented significant challenges for the world of education, especially in the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI), because the strong dominance of emotions and subjective opinions over objective facts makes it easier to spread misinformation and disinformation among students. This article aims to conduct a methodical study on how PAI can be utilized as a strategic counter-narrative in an effort to develop students' critical digital literacy to face the challenges of the post-truth era. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with an integrative literature review design, using thematic analysis techniques. The research findings show that PAI has important epistemological and pedagogical potential as a counter-narrative through strengthening the values of tabayyun, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, justice, and honesty that are relevant to critical digital literacy. Effective strategies include the application of critical pedagogy, the use of authentic media, problem-based learning (PBL), project-based learning (PJBL), and interdisciplinary collaboration. In conclusion, the integration of critical digital literacy in PAI learning can equip students with evaluative critical thinking skills, moral responsibility, and cognitive resistance to hoaxes and religious propaganda, in addition to demanding educational policies and teacher training that support sustainable implementation

Frugal Living in Islamic Finance: How QRIS Supports Ethical Spending?

    Get PDF
Frugal living, or a frugal lifestyle, embodies a concept that coincides with Islamic financial principles, emphasising equilibrium, sustainability, and the avoidance of excessive consumerism. The concept of frugal living has gained increasing relevance in modern economic discourse, particularly in response to financial instability, environmental concerns, and the need for responsible resource management. In the digital age, the payment system utilising the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) has gained prominence as a tool for facilitating more efficient and transparent financial transactions.  This study examines how the use of QRIS within the Islamic financial framework can enhance ethical consumption practices aligned with the tenets of frugal living.  This research, employing a qualitative methodology through literature analysis, determined that QRIS effectively diminishes cash utilisation, which may foster impulsive spending, enhances precise financial documentation, and reinforces Sharia financial principles such as justice, transparency, and sustainability.  This approach promotes more inclusive and efficient transactions, aligning with the maqashid shariah objectives of preserving individual and societal welfare.  This research suggests that the digitalisation of Islamic finance via QRIS can serve as a strategic tool for fostering more ethical and responsible consumer practices

Doda-idi Tradition in Aceh: A Socio-Cultural Perspective in Maintaining Cultural Identity in the Midst of Modernity

    Get PDF
The doda-idi tradition is a local Acehnese practice where mothers lull their children in a swing while humming poems filled with prayers, praise, and hopes for their future. Once an essential part of early childhood socialization and character building within Acehnese families, this tradition is now fading. The doda-idi tradition played a crucial role in embedding values and fostering emotional bonds between mother and child. However, it has become increasingly rare among Acehnese families. This article examines the current state of the doda-idi tradition and identifies the factors contributing to its decline. The study employs a qualitative socio-historical approach, utilizing literature reviews, in-depth interviews with mothers, community leaders, and traditional leaders; and field observations to explore the changes in early childhood socialization in Acehnese society. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's analytical techniques, namely, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal two primary factors behind the tradition's decline: modernization and technological advances. Modernization has provided greater educational and employment opportunities for both men and women, leading to increased population mobility. As a result, many women lack exposure to the cultural transmission of doda-idi, which is not taught formally or informally outside family environments. Simultaneously, technological innovations have introduced devices such as electronic swings, tape recorders, and MP3 players, which replace the mother's role in singing doda-idi. The loss of this tradition signifies not only the fading of a cultural practice but also the diminishing of an intimate and significant aspect of early childhood socialization in Acehnese society. Addressing this decline requires efforts to preserve and revive the tradition within the community

The gender gap in access to and fulfillment of human rights (HAM) in Indonesia is a significant issue that continues to grow and hinders women's full participation in society. Even though Indonesia has a constitution that guarantees gender equality, patriarchal social and cultural norms still limit women's freedom and opportunities in various sectors, including education, economics, politics and legal protection. Discrimination which takes the form of wage inequality, gender-based violence, and limited access to education and health prevents women from achieving independence and prosperity. Therefore, it is important to implement legal reforms, improve gender equality education, and create more inclusive policies. This research aims to identify forms of gender inequality and the factors that cause them, through literature reviews and normative legal research techniques. The results of this research show that cultural, economic, educational, legal and political factors play a major role in exacerbating gender inequality in Indonesia, and an integrated solution is needed to overcome this problem

    Get PDF
This study aims to explore how integrating school quality management principles with an immersive learning approach affects elementary school students' critical thinking skills. Using a quasi-experimental design, 80 fifth-grade students from a public elementary school were assigned to an experimental and a control group. The experimental group received instruction aligned with quality management principles and immersive learning, while the control group experienced conventional instruction. Validity and reliability tests confirmed the instrument's suitability (CVI = 0.93; α = 0.87). Results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group (t = 10.518, p < 0.001; N-gain = 0.56, moderate) compared to the control group (N-gain = 0.22, low). This study is innovative because previous research generally examines school quality management or immersive learning separately and at higher education levels, whereas this study integrates both in elementary education. Theoretically, this study extends the educational management literature by validating the pedagogical dimensions of quality management. Practically, this study provides guidelines for schools to align quality management practices with classroom-based immersive learning to develop students' critical thinking
