    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the leadership strategies employed by the Head of Administration in enhancing the quality of administrative services in schools. The method used is a descriptive, qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation, with triangulation techniques employed to ensure data validity. The results show that the strategies implemented include the preparation of competency-based job descriptions, selective staff training, the provision of performance-based incentives, and regular evaluation of administrative performance. Supporting factors include staff professionalism, the availability of infrastructure, and operational funding support. However, service quality is still hampered by low staff discipline, error-prone manual recording, and suboptimal digitalization of the administrative system. Solutions implemented include strengthening communication, providing internal training, implementing a fingerprint attendance system, and planning the development of an internal payment application. The implications of this study suggest that transformational leadership at the administrative level can serve as a model for school administrative management, one that is adaptable to technological developments, encourages staff professionalism, and fosters transparent and accountable educational governance in the digital era

Shari’ah Perspectives on Cryptocurrency Contracts: Blockchain Transactions in Light of Lubab al-Tafsir and Contemporary Islamic Economic Thought

    Get PDF
The rapid expansion of cryptocurrency as a digital financial instrument raises critical concerns about the validity of contracts and their alignment with Shari’ah principles, particularly regarding price volatility and the absence of comprehensive regulatory frameworks. While cryptocurrency transactions promise substantial returns, they also entail considerable risks due to speculative behavior and market instability. This study examines the validity of such contracts and the practice of cryptocurrency transactions in light of classical Qur’anic exegesis and contemporary Islamic economic thought. Employing a qualitative hermeneutic analysis of Lubab al-Tafsir min Ibn Katsir combined with thematic comparison to contemporary Islamic economic models, this research explores the contractual principles of honesty, justice, legal certainty, documentation, and mutual consent in regulating cryptocurrency practices. The novelty of this study lies in constructing a framework for Shari’ah-compliant digital contracts, integrating classical tafsir insights with the challenges of blockchain-based finance. The findings reveal that although blockchain technology enhances transparency and security, persistent challenges such as volatility and regulatory ambiguity require urgent Shari’ah-based governance. This study contributes to Islamic economic jurisprudence by offering a novel evaluative framework with practical implications for policymakers, regulators, and Islamic financial institutions, ensuring that innovation in financial technology remains ethically grounded and Shari’ah-compliant

Exploring Non-Muslim Engagement in Islamic Financial Institutions: Socio-Economic Dimensions of Islamic Finance in Multicultural Societies

    Get PDF
This study aims to explore the participation of non-Muslims in Islamic financial institutions within the multicultural context of Singosari, Malang Regency. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and institutional document analysis. The findings reveal that non-Muslim participation is evident yet selective, with the highest interest directed toward universal products such as savings, microenterprise financing, and investment schemes emphasizing transparency and profit-sharing. Institutional factors, including regulation and human resource capacity, significantly influence the effectiveness of inclusion, as national policies have not been fully integrated at the local level. Market structure analysis indicates that hybrid business models incorporating fintech demonstrate greater outreach to non-Muslim communities compared to traditional models, although concerns over data security remain a critical barrier. Educational and communication strategies overly reliant on Islamic terminology were found to be less effective, whereas approaches emphasizing universal benefits, product visualization, and cross-faith testimonials proved more acceptable. Digital product innovations offering transparent contract explanations and profit-sharing simulations enhanced interest, yet digital literacy gaps persisted as obstacles. The stigma of exclusivity in Islamic finance continues to pose socio-psychological challenges, which can only be mitigated through multi-stakeholder involvement, including regulators, financial institutions, community leaders, and academics. This research underscores the importance of cross-religious financial inclusion strategies to strengthen social cohesion and support national financial inclusion agendas

REFORMULATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE SANCTIONS AGAINST PPAT FOR NEGLIGENCE IN REQUESTING PROOF OF BPHTB PAYMENT

    Get PDF
This study aims to examine the reformulation of administrative sanctions imposed on the Land Deed Official (PPAT) who neglects to request proof of payment for the Land and Building Acquisition Duty (BPHTB) before signing the deed of land transfer. As a public official authorized to create authentic deeds, PPAT is responsible for ensuring the completeness of administrative requirements related to BPHTB. However, the administrative fine of IDR 10,000,000 for a PPAT’s negligence is deemed disproportionate, considering the amount of honorarium received by the PPAT based on the applicable regulations. Based on a literature review and interviews with PPAT in Malang Regency, this study highlights the injustice of imposing sanctions on PPAT, which essentially only fulfills administrative obligations in the preparation of the deed of land transfer. Meanwhile, the obligation to pay BPHTB lies with the taxpayer. This study offers a reformulation of administrative sanctions that is fairer by considering the PPAT’s authority, in line with the principles of legal justice. It is hoped that the findings of this study will contribute to the improvement of regulations related to taxation and land registration in Indonesia. This research discusses the rules of fiqh related to ijtihad in the context of Islamic justice, with reference to the paper entitled al-Qawāʿid al-Fiqhiyyah Bayna al-Aṣālah wa al-Tawjīh by Muhammad Bakr Ismail. Rules of Fiqh are a basic principle in Islamic law that serves as a methodological guideline in understanding and applying law contextually. In judicial practice, ijtihad plays an important role in resolving cases that are not explicitly regulated in the nash, including in the process of evaluating evidence and making legal decisions. This study uses a literature study method with a descriptive-analytical approach to identify and analyze the relevance of fiqh principles to the ijtihad process in Islamic courts. The results of the study show that principles such as al-ijtihādu lā yunqadhu bi al-ijtihād, al-tarjīḥ lā yaqa’u bikasrat al-’ilal, lā ḥujjata ma’a al-iḥtimāl al-nāshi’ ‘an dalīl, al-waṣfu fī al-ḥāḍir laghwun wa fī al-ghā’ib mu’tabar, and al-ṣulḥu jā’izun bayna al-muslimīn illā ṣulḥan ḥarrama ḥalālan aw aḥalla ḥarāman play a role in maintaining objectivity, rigor, and fairness in decision-making. Thus, a deep understanding of the rules of fiqh becomes an important foundation in directing the practice of ijtihad that is not only valid according to sharia, but also relevant to the dynamics of the law and the need for justice in contemporary society

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is one of the chronic diseases whose prevalence continues to increase globally. CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy not only experience physical burdens but also psychological stress, including anxiety about death (death anxiety), which can impact their quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of death anxiety and the quality of life of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. This study uses a descriptive correlational quantitative approach and total sampling technique. There were 108 respondents who met the inclusion criteria at Dr. Mohammad Saleh Regional General Hospital in Probolinggo City. The research instruments used were the Death Anxiety Questionnaire and WHOQOL-BREF. The results showed that most patients had moderate levels of death anxiety (56.5%) and very good quality of life (75.9%). Pearson's correlation test showed a very strong and significant negative relationship between death anxiety and quality of life (r = -0.814; p = 0.000). The higher the level of death anxiety, the lower the patient's quality of life. Psychological intervention is needed to reduce death anxiety and improve the quality of life of patients

    Get PDF
English speaking ability is an important skill in foreign language learning, yet many students still show low levels of confidence in speaking, especially in course institutions such as Zain Academy. One of the factors thought to influence students' confidence is their perception of teachers' professional identity, which includes pedagogical competence, interpersonal relationships and affective support. This study aims to find out the relationship between students' perceptions of teachers' professional identity and their level of confidence in speaking English. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 16 Zain Academy students who had attended at least one semester of study. Data were analysed through Pearson correlation test and simple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between students' perceptions of teachers' professional identity and their confidence in speaking English, with a correlation value of r = 0.548 and a significance of p = 0.028. The regression test results showed that students' perceptions of teachers' professional identity contributed 30% to the variation in students' self-confidence (R Square = 0.300). This finding supports the theory that perceptions of teacher professionalism play a role in building students' motivation and self-confidence in language learning contexts. The conclusion of this study is that positive perceptions of teachers' professional identity can increase students' confidence in speaking English. Therefore, it is recommended that non-formal education institutions provide training for teachers to develop comprehensive professional qualities, and involve affective and interpersonal aspects to create a learning environment that supports students' courage in communicating
