    Essentialism is a philosophical school that emphasizes the existence of an essence or essential core in every object, concept, or entity. This school argues that every individual or entity has basic characteristics that determine its identity, which are independent of social context or external changes. Essentialist education includes science, art and everything related to human will. The aim of this research is to determine the influence and implications of essentialism in emphasizing local cultural values, the importance of basic knowledge, and character education which has a positive impact on students' development in facing the challenges of everyday life. The data collection method used was by collecting literature studies in the form of journals and interviewing elementary school teachers at Runiah School to gain a deep understanding of the implications of essentialism in the culture of education in elementary schools. The results of research on essentialism in education encourage the integration of cultural values, basic knowledge including subjects subjects such as mathematics, science, and language. The essentialism approach has a main focus on building student character. There are advantages and disadvantages to this essentialism school. Through this approach, students can develop positive attitudes and good behavior in everyday life while understanding and appreciating the cultural diversity around them and essentialism encouraging the integration of local cultural values, such as mutual cooperation activities, social responsibility, and respect for parents, into the educational curriculum

    Religious moderation is an essential aspect of fostering harmony and tolerance in a pluralistic society, especially in a school environment composed of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Extracurricular activities not only strengthen social bonds among students but also instill values of moderation that support the creation of an inclusive and tolerant educational environment. Schools can maximize the potential of extracurricular activities as a medium for strengthening religious moderation, which in turn will support educational efforts to shape a generation with a moderate outlook on religion. The aims of this study are to identify (1) the role of strengthening religious moderation at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya, and (2) the implementation of the Pencak Silat extracurricular activities at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya. This study employs a qualitative research method presented descriptively. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data validation techniques utilize source triangulation and technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques involve data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results are (1) the role of strengthening religious moderation at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya, and (2) the implementation of Pencak Silat extracurricular activities at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya

    The Perception of 5th Semester English Students on Watching English Movies to Enhance Listening Skill at Universitas Nias

    This study investigates the opinions of Universitas Nias fifth-semester English students about using English-language movies to improve their listening skill. Numerous studies have demonstrated that seeing movies can help students learn vocabulary, pronounce words correctly, and understand other accents. But few research has explicitly examined how students view this approach. Focus group discussions (FGDs) and structured interviews with 14 participants were used to gather data for this study, which uses a qualitative descriptive methodology. Key themes in the students' answers were found through the application of thematic analysis. The results show that students view English-language movies as a useful resource for enhancing their listening skill, particularly when it comes to recognizing various accents and genuine speech patterns. But obstacles like frantic conversations, strange vocabulary, and the need for subtitles continue to impede their development. According to the study, the learning process can be maximized by choosing relevant movies, progressively cutting back on the use of subtitles, and incorporating discussions. These results advance our knowledge of audiovisual learning techniques and offer suggestions to teachers on how to create engaging listening lessons

    This study is based on the issue that class VI students at SD Negeri 1 Kanan have a hard time grasping continental scientific concepts and learning about science in general. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not sixth graders' understanding of content from all six continents is enhanced by the use of puzzle media. This study used a qualitative methodology based on descriptive techniques.  In order to fit in with the current sixth grade curriculum at SD Negeri 1 Kanan in Sindang District, Indramayu Regency, this study was conducted on November 21, 2024, for the 2023–2024 school year. The 28 participants in this study were sixth graders from SDN 1 Jurun; 13 of them were male and 15 were female. The purpose of this study is to examine whether or not sixth graders may benefit from using puzzle media to enhance their learning. Methods for gathering information include watching them, having them fill out surveys, and keeping detailed records. Using puzzle media for learning has been a huge success so far. Learning becomes more engaging and interactive with the use of this medium, which also helps develop abilities like agility and patience. In order to encourage their pupils, teachers should strive to create a dynamic learning environment

    Teenagers are an age group that is vulnerable to nutritional problems due to unbalanced consumption patterns. Good nutritional knowledge plays an important role in establishing healthy eating patterns and preventing various health problems, such as obesity, anemia and non-communicable diseases. Factors that influence teenagers' consumption patterns include family environment, social media, eating habits, and the availability of food around them. Tunas Bangsa Middle School, which is located in a tourism area with limited access, is very vulnerable to having students who have low consumption patterns and knowledge. This research aims to obtain a mapping of nutritional knowledge categories and consumption patterns of female students. Based on the research results, it was found that the nutritional knowledge status of Tunas Bangsa Middle School students in recognizing the concept of adolescent nutrition, ingredients and types of food, as well as consumption patterns was in the very high category, this is in accordance with findings on consumption patterns where the frequency of consumption of junk food has a lower value than other types of food such as fruit and vegetables. Accessibility and availability of food are one of the factors that shape the unique consumption patterns of teenagers at Tunas Bangsa Middle School. Consuming chicken and fish is the most favorite food of all types of food available. It is hoped that teenagers can adopt a more balanced diet to support optimal growth and health

    TikTok is one of the popular social media platforms around the world that comes with a variety of interesting features. This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of TikTok in learning speaking English. The students are expected to answer 5 questions on the utilization of TikTok as an educational tool in English classes. The result of this research the students concurred that TikTok offers advantages as an excellent educational tool based on the interview findings. TikTok demonstrated its utility as a wonderful additional resource, offering diverse content that enhances comprehension of the subject matter. The pupils believe that the material on this platform enhances comprehension in learning English. Furthermore, TikTok offers supplementary educational resources that are engaging and readily available. There are interactive capabilities in Tiktok application, such duet and stitch video, became significant elements that added an engaging and enjoyable aspect to the learning experience. TikTok markedly enhanced pupils' confidence in English speaking. The students' feedback highlighted that Tiktok served as a transforming environment in which they surmounted early apprehensions regarding fluency. The students articulated that frequent speaking practice enhanced their motivation and confidence in English communication. The analysis revealed a positive association between TikTok usage and enhanced enthusiasm to learn English. The dynamic and interactive characteristics of the TikTok fostered a more stimulating learning environment, prompting students to actively engage with the language. The visual and audiovisual components in TikTok movies enhance the understanding and recall of vocabulary and pronunciation

    This research aims to analyze how garffito technique drawing activities are carried out, looking at the influence of graffito technique drawing activities on the creativity of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Melati, Sejagung Village, Rantau Bayur District. This type of research is quantitative with a Pre-Experimental experimental research method with a One Group Pretest – Posttest design. The sample for this research was children aged 5-6 years, totaling 13 children and sampling used saturated sampling. Data collection techniques use observation, testing and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques in this research use validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t hypothesis tests. The result of tcount = 17.185 while ttable = 2.160 because tcount > ttable (17.185>2.160) then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Meanwhile, the significant value is 0.001 with a significant criterion of <0.05, so it can be said that there are significant differences in children before and after receiving treatment. which means that there is a significant influence of graffito technique drawing activities on the creativity of children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Melati, Sejagung Village, Rantau Bayur District. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the graffito drawing technique can increase children's imagination in drawing, scratching and choosing colors, children's creativity after applying the graffito technique increases and they are able to draw creatively

    Social Problem-Solving pada Remaja Boarding School: Sebuah Studi Deskriptif

    Pendidikan berbasis boarding school menjadi salah satu model pendidikan yang banyak diminati di Indonesia karena dianggap ideal untuk membentuk pribadi siswa menjadi lebih terampil dalam menghadapi lingkungan sosial. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui gambaran tentang Social Problem Solving pada Remaja yang bersekolah di Boarding School. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif yang melibatkan 65 siswa SMA boarding school yang diperoleh melalui accidental sampling. Analisis data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisis statistik deskriptif. Instrumen data yang digunakan yaitu skala modifikasi Social Problem-Solving Inventory-Revised (SPSI-R) yang telah diadaptasi dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 95,38% siswa memiliki kemampuan social problem-solving tinggi, 3,08% berada pada kategori sedang, dan 1,54% berada pada kategori rendah. Temuan lain pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perempuan memiliki social problem solving sedikit lebih tinggi dibandingkan laki-laki, serta kelompok kelas X memiliki social problem solving lebih tinggi dibanding kelompok kelas XI
