The quality of learning in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum continues to face significant challenges, particularly regarding teachers’ pedagogical competencies. National data from UKG, AKG, PMM, and Sulingjar reveal persistent gaps in pedagogical mastery, which directly affect the effectiveness of differentiated learning and the achievement of the 8 Graduate Profile Dimensions, the new national learning outcomes standard. School principals’ academic supervision is viewed as a strategic instrument to address these issues; however, previous studies have largely focused on administrative aspects, with limited attention to integrating deep learning approaches within the supervision process. This study aims to analyze the role of optimizing principals’ academic supervision in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competencies to support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum based on deep learning. A literature study method was employed by reviewing books, scientific articles, educational policies, and relevant research published within the last decade. The findings show that systematic, continuous, and needs-based academic supervision can significantly improve teachers’ ability to design active and reflective learning, develop HOTS-based instructional materials, and create collaborative learning environments that support the achievement of the 8 Graduate Profile Dimensions

    No full text
This study discusses the role of strategic management in strengthening the effectiveness and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions amid globalization and technological disruption. Using a systematic literature review approach, this research examines various national and international studies from 2019–2025 to analyze the stages of strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation applied within the context of Islamic education. The findings reveal that strategic management functions not only as an administrative tool but also as a value-based framework guiding institutional policies to align with the principles of tawhid, justice, and maslahah (public benefit). Internal and external environmental analyses enable institutions to identify opportunities and challenges, while implementation emphasizes visionary leadership, participatory culture, and the wise use of technology. However, the study also highlights several constraints, such as limited managerial literacy, inadequate resources, and the tendency toward formalistic planning practices. Therefore, value-based and sustainability-oriented strategic management is essential for Islamic educational institutions to adapt, innovate, and maintain their relevance in the face of global transformation

Amidst the increasing need to strengthen religious education, the Al-Qur'an memorization program has become an important part in fostering a generation that is close to the Qur'an while also forming a religious character. Islamic educational institutions are required to have a structured tahfidz program management to be able to maintain the quality of memorization, discipline, and spiritual development of students. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Al-Qur'an memorization program at the Salafiyah Iqro Palangka Raya Islamic Boarding School which includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. The study used a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results showed that the boarding school implemented three main methods of sabaq, sabqi, and murajaah which were proven effective in improving the quality of memorization and maintaining long-standing memorization consistently. Memorization deposits were carried out three times a day, while routine evaluations were carried out through reports from female teachers regarding memorization achievements, discipline, and student motivation. This program not only produces strong and measurable memorization, but also plays a role in shaping the character of students who are religious, disciplined, and have good morals. Overall, the implementation of the tahfidz program at this Islamic boarding school is running effectively and in line with the principles of Islamic education management

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Salaf values in literacy culture as a model of student character formation at SMP Islamic Center Bin Baz. The research stems from academic concern over the shifting meaning of literacy in Islamic educational institutions, which often emphasizes technical reading and writing skills while neglecting their moral and spiritual dimensions. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with a single case study design, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal that Salaf values such as sincerity (ikhlas), humility (tawadhu’), discipline, and ethical learning (adab sebelum ilmu) are effectively integrated into literacy activities through programs like “Tahsin and Tadabbur Buku” and “Majlis Qira’ah.” These practices significantly enhance students’ reading discipline, ethical conduct, and spiritual awareness. The library functions as a moral and intellectual space that cultivates exemplary behavior among students. The study concludes that literacy based on Salaf values represents a new paradigm in modern Islamic education, bridging intellectual development with moral and spiritual integrity. This research contributes a conceptual framework for developing a holistic and applicable model of religious literacy in Islamic educational settings

    No full text
This study aims to examine how principals in private Madrasah Tsanawiyah sustain and strengthen teacher motivation amid systemic pressures, limited resources, and increasing administrative demands. The research focuses on the roles of meaning-making, interpersonal relations, and ethical leadership in fostering teachers’ intrinsic motivation. A qualitative approach was employed using a multisite case study design involving three madrasahs located in both rural and urban areas of Kuningan Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis revealed that teacher motivation does not rely on financial incentives but is grounded in professional meaning constructed through reflective dialogue, emotional support, and caring leadership practices. Principals act as “meaning guardians” by providing psychological safety, personal recognition, and moral presence. Teachers also demonstrate moral agency through subtle resistance to rigid administrative demands. This study proposes the Meaning-Based Motivation Model, which explains how ethical leadership, reflective dialogue, and professional narrative reconstruction shape intrinsic motivation within low-resource madrasahs. The model offers an alternative to performance-based management by emphasizing humanistic, relational, and moral dynamics of leadership

Online learning requires the utilization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) that are not only administratively functional but also support the enhancement of students’ digital literacy. This study aims to evaluate the use of existing LMS platforms, namely EdLink and SIAKAD, as the foundation for the subsequent design and development of a Civic Education LMS. A mixed-methods descriptive approach within the initial stages of a Research and Development (R&D) model was employed. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 20 students and in depth interviews with 4 students focusing on accessibility, interactivity, user interface design, and instructional support. The evaluation results indicate that, overall, EdLink and SIAKAD scored highly in terms of accessibility and administrative management but remain limited in discussion forum interactivity, notification quality, and interface design. These findings highlight the need for designing a more adaptive and interactive Civic Education LMS integrating gamification and artificial intelligence features. This research serves as a preliminary foundation for subsequent expert validation and student trials in the development of the new LMS
