    The impact of consumers' views on clear and ambiguous statements regarding discounts on online store preference

    During the sales-enhancing offer process, businesses can use vague (unclear) expressions such as a discount of up to 70% or 30%, or clear expressions such as a net discount of 70% or 30%. It is thought that the clear and ambiguous expressions used for the discount significantly affect the store preference. The effect of clear statements and ambiguous statements about discounts on consumer preference for online stores was determined as the aim of the research. The questionnaire, which was created in accordance with the purpose of the research, was applied to 421 people determined instantly using the convenience sampling technique, taking into account time, ease of use and cost factors. Least squares path analysis (PLS-SEM) method was used to analyse the research model. According to the beta values calculated in the analyses, it is seen that the dimensions of discount-related statements are ranked as clear statements and ambiguous statements according to the effect size value on the online store preference variable. In this direction, it can be said that clear statements are more effective in online store preference

    Teachers' readiness for blended learning, their reasons, challenges, and suggestions for practising blended learning

    This study aims to understand the experiences of Turkish teachers in blended learning, the challenges they encountered, and their recommendations in this regard. The authors adapted the Blended Teaching Readiness Instrument (BTRI) (Archibald et al., 2021) to Turkish. Secondly, the reasons, challenges, and suggestions of teachers regarding blended learning were investigated. A total of 325 Turkish teachers were selected as the participant group in this survey. A criterion purposeful sampling method was used in the data collection process. The statistical analysis led to the conclusion that the BTRI, which was translated into Turkish, is a valid and reliable tool for measuring teachers’ levels of readiness for blended learning in Turkiye and it can also be used to gauge the readiness of teachers. ort he qualitative aspect, inductive content analysis was used for analyzing open-ended questions of the instrument. The study both served as a reflection of Turkish teachers’ positive and negative experiences regarding blended learning practices and a scale adaptation study for measuring the blended teaching readiness of Turkish teachers. It is considered that the results can help both pre-service and in-service teachers to be sensitive toward their blended teaching competencies. This study also has the potential for informing teacher education departments to equip prospective teachers with required disciplinary knowledge along with digital competencies

    A bibliometric analysis techniques of research on kaleidoscope career from 2005-2023

    The aim of this study is to examine the development of scientific productivity dynamics related to the kaleidoscope career model between 2005 and the first quarter of 2023. For this purpose, 46 articles in the field of career management, which were examined in the handling of the kaleidoscope career approach, were included in the research. In the analysis process, VOSviewer software was used, which enables the examination of scientific productivity dynamics in this field and helps to create network maps and present the subject in detail. According to the research, it has been determined that the USA is the leading country where the kaleidoscope career model is actively examined, the Journal of Management is the journal that includes research on the subject, and Sherry Sullivan is the author who contributed the most to the field. Within the findings obtained as a result of the research, the elements that can guide future research are also included

    The second constitutional era in the context of multi-party system in Türkiye

    There is no consensus among authors as to when the multi-party system started in Türkiye. While some authors state that the multi-party system in Türkiye started in the Second Constitutional Era, many authors generally accept that the multi-party system in Türkiye started after the Second World War. The second position has become so common that it has come to affect authors’ perceptions; whenever the transition to multi-party system in Türkiye is mentioned, the process that started in 1945 first comes to mind. This study argues that the multi-party system in Türkiye started in the Second Constitutional Era, a view that is contrary to which is widely known and accepted. In this context, the current study aims to reveal this multi-party system by examining various aspects such as the related literature, historical background, and competition of the political parties in the multi-party elections to gain power. The study also aims to challenge conventional wisdom in the literature and change common opinion

    Metaphorical perspectives of art educators and students on the concept of art studio in distance education

    As old as the history of humanity, art has been practiced in various places throughout the ages. The concept of art studio, which is generally associated with artistic activities, is also associated with many craft branches. Woodworking and carpentry, blacksmithing, pottery, carpet making, etc. professions are also practiced in studios. Art educators and students using art studios in education have had to leave these spaces during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The transition to distance education after the pandemic has left the art studios empty. This abandonment undoubtedly caused transformations in their perceptions. The main subject of this research is the metaphors produced about the concept of art workshop in distance education. This research aims to reveal the metaphorical perspectives of higher education art educators and students about the concept of 'art studio' in distance education. Metaphor analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in conducting this research. It is seen that art educators and students created a total of 27 types of metaphors under seven categories for the concept of art studio. The metaphors that the participants stated the most were listed as house, life, kitchen, factory, and pal. It can be suggested that similar studies can be conducted with younger age groups of students studying at different educational levels

    The relationship between teachers' Web 2.0 tools usage competency levels and self-efficacy perceptions

    The research aims to determine Web 2.0 tools usage levels of teachers teaching at preschool, primary and secondary school levels, in terms of school levels and educational backgrounds, and to reveal the possible relationship between teachers' use of Web 2.0 tools and their self-efficacy levels. The study comprised 203 instructors from Zonguldak province with various education levels and teaching at various school levels. The data in this study was collected through “Competency in Using Web 2.0 Tools" and "Teachers' Self-Efficacy Perceptions" scales. Correlation and two-factor ANOVA analyses were used to determine the outcomes after verifying the data's normal distribution and the scales' fit indices. According to the study's findings, scores on the "Web 2.0 Tools Usage Competency Scale" were higher in favor of teachers with a master's degree. It was concluded that teachers' usage levels of Web 2.0 tools were significantly related to classroom management, one of the sub-dimensions of the teachers' self-efficacy perception scale, and their educational level, one of the demographic characteristics of the teachers. Furthermore, when the self-efficacy measure sub-dimensions were examined, it can be concluded that teachers' levels of the use of Web 2.0 tools did not differ significantly by school level or educational level, but they did differ significantly in terms of classroom management. The research findings also offer suggestions

    Bu araştırma, uzaktan eğitim yoluyla öğrenim gören üniversite öğrencilerinin çevrimiçi sınavlara ilişkin tutumlarını farklı değişkenler açısından incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan kesitsel tarama modeli kullanılarak yürütülen araştırmaya toplam 322 üniversite öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, Ocak ve Karakuş (2022) tarafından geliştirilen “Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Çevrimiçi Sınavlara Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulardan bazıları şu şekildedir: (1) Öğrencilerin çevrimiçi sınavlara ilişkin tutumları cinsiyet, aylık gelir düzeyi, sınıf düzeyi, öğrenme yönetim sistemine girişte sorun yaşama ve internet kullanım süresi değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermektedir. (2) Aylık gelir düzeyi düşük olan öğrencilerin çevrimiçi sınavlara ilişkin tutumları daha yüksektir. (3) Öğrencilerin çevrimiçi sınavlara ilişkin tutumları, öğrenim gördükleri yükseköğretim kurumuna bağlı olarak anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemektedir. (4) Öğrenme yönetim sistemine erişimle ilgili sorunlar azaldıkça öğrencilerin çevrimiçi sınavlara ilişkin tutumları artmaktadır. (5) Öğrencilerin çevrimiçi sınavların genel, teknik ve yapısal özelliklerine ilişkin tutumlarının, beş saat veya daha fazla internet kullanımından sonra değişmeye başladığı ve olumlu yönde artış gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir

    Closing the talent gap: a proposed micro-credential model in Malaysian formal education

    The global talent gap is a consequence of skills mismatch among job seekers. Although micro-credentials appeared to be a potential solution to narrow the talent gap, it is unclear how they can be effectively implemented in a structured academic pathway. The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of a proposed micro-credential model for formal education via the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning Micro-credentials (APEL.M), to support the talent gap challenges faced by companies in Malaysia. The study used a qualitative case study method with data collected mainly from a focus group discussion among relevant faculty heads, administrators, and senior management team members. The findings indicated that despite potential challenges and issues towards implementing the new micro-credential model, the proposed model is significant for policymakers, higher education providers, and industry stakeholders interested in addressing the talent gap and creating alternative pathways to formal academic qualifications

    Büyük güç mücadelesine dönüş ve dördüncü sanayi devrimi liderlik yarışının stratejik bir boyutu: 5G ve Huawei

    Bu çalışma, Büyük Güç Mücadelesi bağlamında 5G’nin ve özellikle Huawei’nin neden Çin ile Amerika Birleşik Devletleri (ABD) arasında çatışma alanı haline geldiği sorusuna yanıt aramaktadır. ABD, Çin’i siyasal sistem olarak ötekileştirirken konuya siber güvenlik tehdidi olarak yaklaşmaktadır. Çin ise konuya, ABD’nin dördüncü sanayi devrimi mücadelesinde Çinli şirketleri akamete uğratma girişimleri şeklinde karşılık vermektedir. Çalışma, Büyük Güç Mücadelesi bağlamında literatürdeki ABD-Çin tartışmaları ile başlayacaktır. Sonrasında yüzeydeki ticaret savaşına dair gelişmeler aktarılacak ve akabinde savaşın ilk nasıl başladığı anlaşılmaya çalışılacaktır. Sonraki bölümde, konunun derinlerinde yatan nedenlere ulaşabilmek için, 5G’nin ne olduğu, dünyada neleri nasıl değiştirmesinin beklendiği ortaya konacaktır. Takip eden bölümde ise, Huawei’nin hedef tahtasında olmasının koşullarını oluşturan teknolojik arka plan ortaya konmaya çalışılacaktır. Sonuç bölümünde, ABD ve Çin arasındaki çatışmanın, Dördüncü Sanayi Devrimi liderliğinin ve sonuç olarak küresel liderliğin hem ülkesel hem de coğrafi olarak değişim mücadelesinin 5G özelinde nereye evrildiği bilimsel veriler ışığında cevaplanmaya çalışılacaktır. Çalışma metodolojik olarak nitel bir araştırma olarak tasarlanmış ve çalışmada doküman analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada, literatürde yer alan tartışmaların yanı sıra, konu ile ilgili sektörel aktörlerin yayınlarından, gerek uluslararası ilişkiler gerekse elektrik-elektronik mühendisliği literatüründeki bilimsel çalışmalardan ve uluslararası yayınları ve haberleri içeren ampirik verilerden faydalanılmıştır
