    RAGAM ABREVIASI PADA RUBRIK METROPOLITAN SURAT KABAR DIGITAL MEMORANDUM

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis-jenis abreviasi yang digunakan dalam rubrik metropolitan kategori Surabaya pada website surat kabar Memorandum edisi Juli-Agustus 2024. Abreviasi memiliki peran penting dalam komunikasi jurnalistik untuk menyampaikan informasi dengan lebih singkat dan efisien. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa studi pustaka, teknik simak, dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya 246 data abreviasi yang diklasifikasikan ke dalam empat jenis, yaitu singkatan sebanyak 128 data, akronim 111 data, penggalan 4 data, dan lambang huruf 3 data. Temuan ini mengungkap dominasi penggunaan singkatan dan akronim dalam penulisan berita di website surat kabar Memorandum.     Systematic literature review: Identification of students’ mathematical anxiety in mathematics learning

    Mathematics anxiety can be found at all levels of education, from elementary school to college students. This study aims to conduct a literature review on mathematics anxiety in mathematics learning. The research method chosen in this study is the Systematic Literature Review. Data was collected by documenting all articles with similar research in this research report. The articles used in this study were 98 articles published from 2014–2022. The research was conducted at all levels of education. Based on the research results, there were 98 relevant articles published in 2014-2022 regarding mathematics anxiety in mathematics learning. It was noted that articles related to mathematical abilities, including soft and hard skills, dominated the number of articles. The articles that were collected mainly focused on research at the junior high school level, and researchers tend to prefer using quantitative research methods

    Students' mathematical communication skills viewed from mathematical resilience in probing-prompting learning with performance assessment

    By evaluating students’ performance in their mathematical communication skills and characterizing those skills in terms of their mathematical resilience, this study seeks to determine the efficacy of probing-prompting learning. A mixed method by using a sequential explanatory research design is employed. The study was conducted in two phases: first, quantitative data was collected and analyzed, then based on the findings of the quantitative data, qualitative data was collected and analyzed. The results of the research show that (1) the probing-prompting model with performance assessment is effective to improve students' mathematical communication skills and mathematical resilience and (2) based on the analysis of mathematical communication skills regarding students' mathematical resilience, it shows that students who have low stage of mathematical resilience are only able to express one indicator of mathematical communication skills, while students who have moderate and high stages of mathematical resilience are able to express five indicators of mathematical communication ability. The conclusion is probing-prompting learning with performance assessment can be used to improve students' mathematical communication skills and based on students’ mathematical resilience, students also have different levels of mathematical communication skills

    Systematic literature review: Implementation of ethnomodelling in mathematics learning

    There has been an increase in research on ethnomathematics in mathematics education, along with a rise in research on ethnomodelling. It triggers an increasing need and interest in how ethnomodelling is applied in mathematics learning. This study aims to review the literature on implementing ethnomodelling in mathematics learning. This research method is a systematic literature review with the PRISMA model. The research data are ethnomodelling-themed studies in mathematics learning published from 2019 to 2023 and obtained through the Google Scholar database. The articles obtained were 17 articles published in various countries. The results showed the implementation of ethnomodelling in mathematics learning, including different mathematical concepts, cultural objects, and ethnomodelling approaches. Also presented are contributions from various researchers and countries that have applied ethnomodelling in mathematics learning. The results of this study contribute to researchers, teachers, and practitioners in the form of a review of various ethnomodelling studies within the scope of mathematics concepts. So, they can be used as guidelines in developing culture-based mathematics learning strategies

    The influence of mathematical disposition on high school students' understanding of mathematical concepts

    One of the subjects often considered challenging by students is mathematics, leading to difficulties in learning the subject. This is due to students' lack of ability to comprehend mathematical concepts. This research investigates the influence of mathematical disposition on the mathematical concept understanding of high school students. The study utilizes a correlational survey method with a quantitative approach. The study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational survey method. The population includes all twelfth-grade science students at SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu. The sampling technique utilizes random sampling, with a sample size of 65 students selected from two twelfth-grade science classes. The instruments used in the research consist of a mathematical disposition questionnaire and an essay test on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. Data analysis is performed through classical assumption tests and simple regression analysis. The classical assumption tests include normality and linearity tests. The results indicate a significant positive influence of mathematical disposition on students' understanding of mathematical concepts, with a contribution of mathematical disposition to the understanding of mathematical concepts amounting to 34.8%.Salah satu mata pelajaran yang sering dianggap rumit oleh siswa adalah matematika, sehingga mereka sering kesulitan dalam belajar matematika. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei korelasional. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XII MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Sedayu. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 65 siswa yang diambil dari 2 kelas XII MIPA. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa angket disposisi matematis dan tes uraian kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan uji asumsi klasik dan uji regresi sederhana. Uji asumsi klasik yang digunakan meliputi uji normalitas dan uji linearitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang positif signifikan antara disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa, dengan besar kontribusi yang diberikan disposisi matematis kepada pemahaman konsep matematika adalah sebesar 34,8%

    The effect of group investigation model of learning on improving mathematics learning outcomes

    The instructional model is a crucial component in the educational process. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Group Investigation learning model in enhancing students' mathematics outcomes. A quantitative research method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design was used, involving 29 eighth-grade students. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 25, revealing a pretest score of 0.010 and a posttest score of 0.063 after implementing the Group Investigation model. The average posttest score was 77.91, indicating a significant impact on learning outcomes. Observations over three sessions showed an increase in student participation from 26.97% with an average score of 2.24 in Session I (categorized as "Less Active") to 42.79% with an average score of 3.56 in Session II, and 45.38% with an average score of 3.78 in Session III (both categorized as "Active"). This increase demonstrates that the Group Investigation model not only enhances student participation but also makes students more active in learning, thereby improving mathematics outcomes. Therefore, the Group Investigation model is an effective strategy for enhancing students' achievement in mathematics. Further research with more refined methods and tools is needed to confirm these findings

    Effectiveness of AI in solving math problems at the secondary school level: A comparative study with student performance

    The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of artificial intelligence (AI) in solving mathematical problems at the high school level by comparing the performance of AI with that of students. Utilizing the ChatGPT tool and a dataset of 20 mathematics questions from the high school curriculum, the study involved ten students from the Muhammadiyah Mertoyudan Islamic Boarding School. The results indicate that AI exhibits high accuracy in multiple-choice questions (98%) and short-answer questions (95%), albeit with a decrease in performance for essay questions (75%); conversely, students demonstrated an average accuracy of 85% for multiple-choice questions, 80% for short-answer questions, and 70% for essay questions, additionally, also demonstrated higher consistency, particularly in questions requiring complex conceptual understanding. At the same time, the findings underscore the significant potential of AI as a tool for mathematics learning, further development is needed to enhance its ability to comprehend and respond to essay questions, thereby improving conceptual understanding and critical reasoning. The implications of these findings can contribute to the advancement of more sophisticated and effective educational technology to support mathematics learning in schools

    The effect of using the educational game Quizizz on student motivation and math learning in grade 8

    The integration of technology in education has introduced innovative tools to enhance learning experiences, including the use of educational games. This study examines the impact of the educational game Quizizz on the motivation and mathematics performance of eighth-grade students. The research utilized a quasi-experimental design with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling, consisting of 25 students from class VIII B as the control group and 25 students from class VIII C as the experimental group. Data were collected through questionnaires and mathematics tests. The analysis employed an Independent Sample t-Test to evaluate the effect of Quizizz on student motivation and a Mann-Whitney test to assess its impact on mathematics learning outcomes. The results revealed a significant positive effect of Quizizz on motivation, with a p-value of 0.042 (p < 0.05). Similarly, Quizizz significantly improved mathematics learning outcomes, as indicated by the Mann-Whitney test (p = 0.047). These findings suggest that Quizizz is an effective interactive learning tool that enhances both student motivation and academic achievement in mathematics. Thus, incorporating Quizizz into classroom activities can be a strategic approach to fostering student engagement and improving learning outcomes in mathematics

    Development of integrated e-module with Live Worksheets based on PjBL with ethnomathematics nuances of typical Indonesian foods to enhance mathematical literacy

    Mathematical literacy has become an essential global skill for individuals. This research aims to develop teaching modules in integrated electronic form live worksheets PjBL-based with nuances of ethnomathematics of typical Indonesian food by meeting the validity, practicality, and effectiveness criteria in increasing mathematical literacy. The research method is R&D with a model ADDIE. The population in this study was class VII students. Data collection techniques include documentary studies, unstructured interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis used includes validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The research results show that the e-module is: (1) valid based on assessments from 3 validators on the content and presentation aspects with an average validity percentage of 88%; (2) practical based on 30 student responses with a score percentage of 84%; and (3) effective for mathematical literacy seen from individual learning completeness, classical completeness, average difference pretest, and posttest, and there is an increase in students' mathematical literacy. The result is an e-module that is valid, practical, and effective. This media can be developed more widely by adding different materials and adding various cultures in Indonesia

    Studi Komparatif Literasi Saintifik Guided Inquiry VS Free Inquiry Pada Materi Zat dan Perubahannya

    This research aims to compare the influence of guided inquiry and free inquiry models on scientific literacy abilities. The method used in this research is counterbalanced with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were students in class The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are tests (pretest-posttest) and non-tests. The data analysis used was the paired sample t-test, Cohen's d effect size test with the help of IBM SPSS V.25 software. The research results show that the paired sample t-test states that Ha is accepted, meaning there is a difference in scientific literacy abilities with the guided inquiry and free inquiry models with sig, 0.000. The Cohen's d test in the guided inquiry model treatment class obtained a value of 1.09, this score was higher compared to students who used the free inquiry model with a Cohen's d value of 0.12. The results of data analysis show that the Guided Inquiry model has more influence on students' scientific literacy abilities compared to the Free Inquiry model.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan pengaruh model guided inquiry dan free inquiry terhadap kemampuan literasi saintifik. Jenis penelitian berupa penelitian eksperimen dengan metode counterbalanced dan desain one group pretest-posttest. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X salah satu SMK di Pemalang tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dengan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas X PPLG2 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas X DKV3 sebagai kelas eksperimen II. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu tes (pretest-posttest) dan non tes. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji paired sample t-test, uji cohen’s d effect size dengan bantuan software IBM SPSS V.25. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa uji paired sample t-test menyatakan Ha diterima artinya terdapat perbedaan kemampuan literasi saintifik dengan model guided inquiry dan free inquiry dengan sig, 0,000. Uji Cohen’s d pada kelas perlakuan model guided inquiry memperoleh nilai sebesar 1,09, skor tersebut lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan model free inquiry dengan nilai Cohen’s d 0,12. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa model Guided Inquiry lebih berpengaruh terhadap keamapuan literasi saintifik peserta didik dibandingkan dengan model Free Inquiry
