    Penerapan pendekatan lingkungan alam sekitar (PLAS) untuk meningkatkan aspek afektif siswa

    This study sought to investigate the implementation and effectiveness of the Environmental Surrounding Approach (PLAS) in the IPAS learning subject for fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Gunung Picung 04. The research employed a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design. A total of 60 students participated, divided equally into two groups: an experimental class (n=30) that received instruction using the PLAS method, and a control class (n=30) that did not. Data collection relied on non-test instruments, specifically pre- and post-intervention questionnaires (pre- and post-respond) and classroom observations. The analysis utilized both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings indicated that the PLAS method significantly improved students' affective domain scores in the experimental group. Their average affective score increased from 58.06 (pre-intervention) to 70.5 (post-intervention), which was corroborated by observation data yielding an average score of 41.86. In contrast, students in the control group showed a smaller gain in their affective domain, with the average score rising from 60.13 (pre-intervention) to 65.26 (post-intervention), supported by an observation average of 47.6.Studi ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki implementasi dan efektivitas Pendekatan Lingkungan Sekitar (PLAS) pada mata pelajaran IPAS untuk siswa kelas lima di SD Negeri Gunung Picung 04. Penelitian ini mempergunakan desain kuasi-eksperimental melalui desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Sebanyak 60 siswa berpartisipasi, dibagi rata menjadi dua kelompok: kelas eksperimen (n=30) yang menerima pembelajaran menggunakan metode PLAS, dan kelas kontrol (n=30) yang tidak menerimanya. Pengumpulan data mengandalkan instrumen non-tes, khususnya kuesioner pra- dan pasca-intervensi (pra-respons dan pasca-respons) serta observasi kelas. Analisis data menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode PLAS secara signifikan meningkatkan skor domain afektif siswa dalam kelompok eksperimen. Rata-rata skor afektif mereka meningkat dari 58,06 (pra-intervensi) menjadi 70,5 (pasca-intervensi), yang dikuatkan oleh data observasi yang menghasilkan skor rata-rata 41,86. Sebaliknya, siswa di kelompok kontrol menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih kecil dalam domain afektif mereka, dengan skor rata-rata naik dari 60,13 (pra-intervensi) menjadi 65,26 (pasca-intervensi), didukung oleh rata-rata observasi sebesar 47,6

    The primary objective of this study is to provide an in-depth explanation of the managerial strategies implemented by school principals in designing and developing Islamic literacy as a flagship program aimed at increasing new student enrollment. This program has been consistently applied each year, not only to strengthen Islamic character education but also to serve as a competitive differentiation strategy to attract public interest. A qualitative case study approach was employed to explore the principal's role through in-depth interviews, field observations, and administrative document analysis. The findings indicate that the principal plays a strategic role in all phases of management: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Specific strategies include integrating Islamic values into the curriculum, internalizing Islamic culture through daily prayer memorization, short Qur'anic surahs, hijaiyah literacy habits, worship practices, and the use of Islamic reading materials. Active parental and community involvement further strengthens the systemic implementation of the program. The Islamic literacy program has had a significant impact on enhancing the school’s image and increasing student registration annually. The study concludes that value-based management strategies rooted in Islamic principles hold great potential in improving the competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions in today’s dynamic environment.     Meaningful English learning: integrating deep learning - CBL, and reflection e-portfolio in supporting local wisdom of Batang

    This study aims to address the challenges of 21st-century English language learning by integrating Deep Learning and Case-Based Learning approaches and utilising Reflection E-Portfolios as an assessment tool. This phenomenological approach focuses on the experiences of 20 English teachers and 40 students. Data collection in this study utilised Focus Group Discussions, Interviews, Observations, and Questionnaires. Based on the analysis of the collected data, The research findings indicate that the implementation of Deep Learning and Case-Based Learning approaches can be effectively applied in subjects with local wisdom themes. This learning model demonstrates success in building students' contextual and meaningful learning experiences by enabling them to connect theoretical concepts with real classroom cases and analyse authentic problems more critically. On the other hand, the Reflection E-Portfolio shows evidence that this medium greatly facilitates students and teachers in evaluating their learning in the classroom. Therefore, it can be concluded that this learning model and assessment medium greatly support the development of students’ potential—particularly their critical thinking, problem-solving skills, collaboration, communication, creativity, metacognitive awareness, and cultural awareness. However, it cannot be avoided that facilities, time, and teachers' capabilities need to be honed and fully supported, both materially and non-materially, to achieve relevant, high-quality, meaningful learning that can develop students' skills

    Culturally responsive pedagogy in practice: integrating Thai local culture into an intensive English primary

    The paper reviews the application of culturally responsive pedagogy as a means of inserting the element of Thai local culture solely in the Primary Intensive English Program (IEP) in Narathiwat, Thailand. The qualitative descriptive design was used, and data were gathered by using classroom observations, semi-structured interviews and documentation. The fieldwork took place during the months of July and comprised of three classroom observations, and three classes of primary students, using various materials and various students. The participants for interview were three IEP teachers and three primary students who were chosen according to teacher suggestions to guarantee direct interaction with culturally encoded instructions activities. Findings indicate that the Thai cultural aspects, including local narratives, everyday settings, local words, and routines based on the cultural context, were integrated by the teachers in an attempt to promote understanding and involvement. The research comes to the conclusion that the implementation of the Thai-only cultural content by means of culturally responsive pedagogy enhances student engagement, reinforces the contextual knowledge, and provides a feasible way to apply the model to EFL classrooms in the Southeast Asian cultural settings

    Developing a differentiated learning approach using smartphone applications to reduce learning loss and enhance students’ motivation in English language learning

    This study aims to develop an English language learning model based on a differentiated instruction approach utilizing smartphone applications to reduce learning loss and enhance students' learning motivation. The development model adopted follows the ADDIE framework by Borg & Gall, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The analysis stage was carried out through classroom observations, interviews, and questionnaires to identify learning needs, motivation levels, and students' access to technological resources. The design stage involved developing differentiated learning scenarios in terms of content, process, and product, integrated with smartphone applications such as YouTube, Pinterest, Wemoji and Quizzes for the "Hobby" topic. In the development stage, instructional materials and evaluation instruments were prepared and validated by experts. The implementation was conducted in an English class at a junior high school. This research involved 10 participants as preliminary testing and then 50 students (25 girls and 25 boys) as the main field testing. The students were grouped according to their abilities and interests. Formative and summative evaluations indicated a significant improvement in post-test scores compared to pre-test results, signaling a reduction in learning loss. Furthermore, questionnaire and observational data revealed increased student motivation, particularly in terms of active engagement and sustained interest in learning activities. These findings suggest that differentiated instruction integrated with smartphone applications is an effective and innovative strategy for English language learning, especially in the context of post–learning loss recovery

    This study aims to analyze the influence of Price Perception, Brand Awareness, and Customer Engagement on Purchase Intention for Aerostreet shoes through Shopee Live Streaming in Surabaya. This topic is essential in the field of digital marketing as these three variables play a key role in shaping consumer purchasing decisions, particularly in the increasingly popular context of live streaming e-commerce. The study seeks to provide a deeper understanding of how pricing, brand recognition, and consumer involvement can be optimized by businesses to enhance interest in local products amid intense competition. The research employs a quantitative approach using Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis, processed with SmartPLS software. The sample consists of 90 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected via an online questionnaire distributed to Shopee users in Surabaya who had previously viewed Aerostreet’s live streaming sessions. The findings reveal that both Price Perception and Brand Awareness have a significant positive effect on Purchase Intention, while Customer Engagement shows a significant negative effect. These results suggest that rational and cognitive factors outweigh emotional engagement in influencing purchase decisions in the live streaming context

    This research is intended to assess financial performance differences utilizing the Economic Value Added approach. This research specifically focuses on the field of mobile operators based on the strategic role that directly affects the end customer, where every business and financial decision has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and the company revenue. The quantitative method was applied using a comparative approach with SPSS Version 26. The population in this study consisted of Wireless Telecommunication Services Sub-Industry Companies in the mobile operator sector listed on the IDX from 2019 to 2023. Variables were measured by calculating the components of Economic Value Added, and hypothesis testing was conducted using a nonparametric test, specifically the Kruskal Wallis test, to determine whether ther was a significant statistical difference. The results of the calculation of Economic Added Value showed that the Wireless Telecommunication Services Sub-industry company experienced fluctuations, but PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk had a better financial performance. Then in the statistical test of differences using SPSS Version 26, the results of the Kruskal Wallis test obtained the result of no difference in financial performance using the Economic Value Added method in Wireless Telecommunication Services Sub-Industry Companies in the field of cellular operators

    This study aims to analyze the effect of job insecurity and job satisfaction on turnover intention among outsourced employees in the production division of a manufacturing company in Gresik. High turnover intention is a serious problem for companies because it can disrupt operational stability. By understanding the triggering factors, companies are expected to be able to take strategic steps to retain their employees. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design. Data was collected from 80 respondents, who are outsourced production employees at the company, through a questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using the Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS) application. The results of this study indicate that job insecurity is the main factor driving employees to consider changing jobs. When employees feel a high level of uncertainty about the continuity of their jobs, they are more likely to seek employment opportunities elsewhere. Conversely, job satisfaction plays a crucial role in retaining employees. The higher the level of satisfaction employees feel toward their jobs, the stronger their commitment to remain with the company

    Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengaruh Digital Marketing, Brand Image, dan Brand Awareness terhadap keputusan pembelian. Masalah yang di ambil pada penelitian ini adanya pengenalan masalah yang merujuk pada kemampuan konsumen untuk mengenali kebutuhan mereka dan mencari merek yang tepat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan populasi masyarakat Sidoarjo yang pernah membeli produk Moisturizer minimal 1 kali dan berusia lebih dari 17 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non probability sampling dengan pendekatan sampling purposive dan banyaknya responden sejumlah 100. Metode pengumpulan data melalui penyebaran kuesioner dan jawaban diukur menerapkan skala likert. Teknik analisis data yang dimanfaatkan unuk penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistic PLS-SEM menggunakan software SmartPLS 3.0.
