    Comparing EFL Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic Students’ High Learning Intensity in Increasing Speaking Performance

    This study examined the impact of high learning intensity on the speaking performance of EFL students with different learning styles: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The study involved the 129 selected students from Computer Study Program, Bumigora University through a total sampling technique. The instruments were the VARK questionnaire identifying the participants’ learning styles, a learning intensity questionnaire assessing their learning intensity, and a speaking performance test evaluating their fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Data were analyzed by using One-Way ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc tests to determine differences among the groups. The findings revealed significant differences in speaking performance across the three learning styles  with F value 59.967, Sig. value 0.000 < 0.05. Kinesthetic learners demonstrated the highest mean score of 82.16), significantly outperforming visual learners’ mean score of  77.09, and auditory learners’ mean score of 70.80. Post-hoc analysis confirmed that kinesthetic learners performed significantly better than auditory learners with mean difference is 11.364, Sig. value 0.000 < 0.05,  and visual learners’ mean difference is 5.069, Sig. value 0.000 < 0.05. The visual learners also outperformed auditory learners with mean difference is 6.295, Sig. value 0.000 < 0.05. These results suggested that the kinesthetic learners benefited most from the high-intensity learning environments, achieving better speaking performance. This study showed the importance of considering learning styles in designing EFL learning curriculum. The findings emphasize the need for integrating kinesthetic activities into instructional practices to maximize speaking performance, particularly in high-intensity learning contexts

    Penerapan Analisis Space Syntax pada Peningkatan Mitigasi Banjir Jakarta

    Flooding is an annual issue that continues to threaten the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, with significant impacts on infrastructure and the lives of its residents. Approximately 70% of Jakarta's area has been submerged during major floods, disrupting inter-regional access, causing casualties, and resulting in substantial economic losses. One of the primary causes of flooding is the growth of illegal settlements along riverbanks due to poorly organized spatial planning, leading to river narrowing and increased risk of overflow during heavy rainfall. Areas like Kampung Melayu along the Ciliwung River are particularly prone to annual flooding. The Provincial Government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta has undertaken various mitigation programs, including river normalization, river naturalization, and the construction of infiltration wells. However, implementing these programs has often been suboptimal, with shifting policy priorities depending on leadership changes. Additionally, limited attention has been given to the road network as part of flood disaster mitigation, despite its crucial role in supporting evacuation and mobility during emergencies. This study aims to evaluate the vulnerability of road networks using the space syntax theory, which provides an in-depth analysis of spatial relationships. The method employed involves axial map analysis using Depthmap software to map spatial connections and the integration levels of road networks. The study compares the performance of road networks under normal conditions and during flooding. It also examines the performance of bridges and inter-regional connecting routes. The research focuses on areas along the Ciliwung River, particularly Kampung Melayu, covering a 3 km radius, one of 69 flood-affected regions. The study's findings are expected to provide strategic recommendations to improve the overall performance of road infrastructure, thereby enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of flood mitigation efforts.Sebagian penyebab banjir di Jakarta dikarenakan dari pertumbuhan permukiman ilegal di bantaran sungai sehingga berdampak terhadap daya tampung sungai yang meluap ketika cuaca ekstrem, salah satunya Sungai Ciliwung. Kondisi ini tentunya sangat merugikan. Terdapat kerusakan pada jaringan infrastruktur perkotaan yang tidak berfungsi dengan optimal, dan telah memakan banyak korban luka bahkan meninggal. Pemerintah telah berupaya meningkatkan mitigasi banjir, namun banjir masih terus terjadi. Maka, masalah ini diidentifikasi sebagai kunci untuk dievaluasi dengan kajian penelitian terhadap penerapan space syntax dalam metode kuantitatif. Fokusnya adalah peningkatan jaringan jalan yang merupakan bagian vital dari sistem kegiatan di perkotaan. Penurunan nilai aksesibilitas akibat dari genangan akan menunjukkan adanya tekanan tinggi untuk mengambil tindakan yang tepat waktu dari keadaan darurat banjir sehingga pentingnya mengetahui nilai integrasi dan pilihan pada jaringan jalan. Percobaan akan dilakukan pada sebagian permukiman sekitar Sungai Ciliwung, yaitu Kampung Melayu dalam jangkauan radius 3 Km dari sungai sebagai tahap pertama sebelum masuk ke permukiman lainnya. Proses penilaian akan menggunakan Analisis Axial Map yang disimulasikan dari perangkat lunak Depthmap.     Market Higiene and Sanitation Implementation Study (Case Study: Demangan Market)

    Demangan Market is one of the public facilities that plays an important role in fulfilling the daily needs of the community. Market activities involve many people, both sellers and buyers, making it a center of social and economic interaction. However, poor market sanitation conditions can increase the risk of contamination exposure and health problems for both visitors and traders. This study aims to analyze the implementation of hygiene and sanitation at Demangan Market, Yogyakarta, based on several assessment parameters and clean water quality indicators. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method by conducting assessments using a market inspection form that includes aspects such as market location, building conditions, sanitation facilities, Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS), lighting, noise levels, and safety. Water samples were collected from two well points and tested for pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), and iron content (Fe). The research instruments consisted of observation sheets, literature reviews, documentation studies, and laboratory examinations, with data analysis performed using Microsoft Excel. The results indicate that Demangan Market is categorized as less healthy, with an achievement score of 68.22%, which is below the Minimum Main Criteria (≤70%). Meanwhile, the water quality test results show that all samples meet the clean water quality standards based on Ministry of Health Regulation No. 2 of 2023. The six water samples revealed varying results, with pH values ranging from 6.8 to 7.0, TDS values ranging from 151 to 260 mg/L, dissolved oxygen levels ranging from 5.3 to 6.7 mg/L, and iron content (Fe) of 0.00168 mg/L. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Health Department conduct counseling programs, monitoring, and trader training to improve the implementation of hygiene and sanitation practices, aiming to achieve a Healthy Demangan Market

    Peningkatan interaksi sosial dan hasil belajar melalui media permainan ular tangga di sekolah dasar

    Language proficiency in Indonesian comprises four core skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. These foundational skills are essential across all educational levels, from elementary to tertiary education. One effort to enhance the success of Indonesian language learning is through the application of effective, creative, active, and enjoyable instructional innovations. Proverbs, which convey figurative meanings, are often difficult for students to understand and interpret. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using an educational Snakes and Ladders game to improve sixth-grade primary students’ learning outcomes in understanding proverbs. A descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling was employed. The participants consisted of 48 sixth-grade students from two primary schools in Temanggung Regency. The results indicated that the Snakes and Ladders game significantly increased students’ motivation and academic achievement in learning proverbs. The use of the game provided a more engaging, varied, and participatory learning experience. Integrating this instructional medium into proverb instruction is expected to contribute positively to the quality of education and student learning outcomes.Kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia mencakup empat aspek keterampilan dasar, yaitu menyimak, membaca, berbicara, dan menulis. Keempat aspek tersebut menjadi fondasi utama pendidikan dari jenjang sekolah dasar hingga perguruan tinggi. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan keberhasilan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia adalah melalui inovasi pembelajaran yang efektif, kreatif, aktif, dan menyenangkan. Peribahasa sebagai bagian dari pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia seringkali menjadi materi yang sulit dipahami oleh siswa karena makna kiasannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas media permainan edukatif ular tangga dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peribahasa pada siswa kelas VI sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 48 siswa kelas VI dari dua sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Temanggung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media permainan ular tangga mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa dalam memahami peribahasa. Pembelajaran menjadi lebih bervariasi, menyenangkan, dan mampu melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Integrasi media permainan ini dalam pembelajaran peribahasa diharapkan dapat berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan capaian belajar siswa

    Analysis of junior high school students' critical mathematical thinking ability in solving similarity problems

    This research seeks to elucidate students' critical thinking abilities about comparable content. This study is descriptive in nature and employs a qualitative methodology. This study employs a case study methodology. The obtained data comprises critical thinking ability exam results, which include two problems and interviews. The obtained data is assessed according to the critical thinking skill indicators established by the researcher, which include: 1) investigating; 2) recognizing and justifying ideas; 3) generalizing; 4) clarifying and resolving. This research employs data analysis methodologies from Miles and Huberman, including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The triangulation approach ensures the authenticity of the data used in this investigation. The data analysis findings categorize students' cognitive capacities into three groups: 11.11% (4 students) are classified as high, 27.78% (10 students) as medium, and 61.11% (22 students) as low. From the perspective of critical thinking capacity, 100% of students explored the topic, 55.56% identified and justified the notion, 16.67% generalized, and 11.11% clarified and resolved the issue. These findings demonstrate that students’ overall critical thinking abilities in solving similarity problems are still low, particularly in generalizing and resolving problems. The study contributes theoretically by reinforcing the significance of critical thinking in mathematics education, particularly geometry; methodologically by integrating test and interview data to analyze thinking processes; and practically by offering insights for teachers to develop instructional strategies that foster students' ability to think critically and solve problems effectively

    Tobacco harvest processing; physics overview and design of contextualized physics teaching materials

    This study aims to develop contextual-based physics teaching materials by integrating local wisdom from the processing of tobacco harvests in Jember, East Java, into junior high school science materials. The teaching materials are designed to promote critical thinking skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. This research is motivated by the need to make physics learning more meaningful and relevant to students' daily lives. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which focuses on the analysis and design stages. The teaching materials are presented interactively and visually using the Canva digital platform and can be accessed by students via an interactive website. Data analysis involved expert validation and questionnaire responses from 30 seventh-grade junior high school students. Expert validation was analyzed descriptively and quantitatively, and student responses were analyzed according to the frequency distribution of each aspect assessed. Experts' results of content validation show that teaching materials are suitable for learning. Based on the physics review, there are several tobacco processing processes related to physics concepts. The physics materials about temperature, heat transfer by conduction, convection, radiation, and specific heat directly relate to the real process of drying tobacco. Student responses were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that this contextual teaching material effectively increased students' learning motivation, concept understanding, and critical thinking skills. Students stated that the teaching materials were interesting, easy to understand, and related to their daily experiences. It can be concluded that local context-based physics teaching materials have strong potential to increase student engagement and support the development of thinking skills

    The purpose of this study was to design a Google Sites-based e-module for use in the Engineering Drawing class of SMK Muhammadiyah Gamping for tenth-grade students. Students had difficulty understanding the concept because the printed module was static, according to the needs analysis. This study used the 4D model, which stands for "Define," "Design," "Develop," and "Diseminate," to conduct its research and development. Observations and interviews were used to examine needs at the define stage. The structure of the E-module was created during the design phase by including multimedia components such as photos and movies. Expert validation and student trials conducted during development indicated that the E-module was quite practical in terms of content, media, and learning efficacy. Students' engagement, comprehension, and capacity for independent learning were all positively influenced by the E-module built on Google Sites, thanks to its customizable and dynamic content presentation. This study makes an important contribution to the ongoing efforts of the vocational education field to innovate its teaching media for the digital era.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang modul elektronik berbasis Google Sites untuk digunakan di kelas Gambar Teknik SMK Muhammadiyah Gamping untuk siswa kelas sepuluh. Siswa mengalami kesulitan memahami konsep karena modul cetak bersifat statis, menurut analisis kebutuhan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model 4D, yang merupakan singkatan dari "Define," "Design," "Develop," dan "Diseminate," untuk melakukan penelitian dan pengembangannya. Observasi dan wawancara digunakan untuk memeriksa kebutuhan pada tahap define. Struktur E-modul dibuat selama fase desain dengan menyertakan komponen multimedia seperti foto dan video. Validasi ahli dan uji coba siswa yang dilakukan selama pengembangan menunjukkan bahwa E-modul cukup praktis dalam hal konten, media, dan kemanjuran pembelajaran. Keterlibatan, pemahaman, dan kapasitas siswa untuk belajar mandiri semuanya dipengaruhi secara positif oleh E-modul yang dibangun di Google Sites, berkat penyajian kontennya yang dapat disesuaikan dan dinamis.     Science literacy plays an important role in shaping Problem-solving Skills in the workplace, especially in the face of increasingly complex industry challenges. This study uses the Narrative Literature Review (NLR) approach to explore the relationship between science literacy and problem-solving skills and identify effective approaches in improving these competencies. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) (PBL) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) are proven methods to improve critical thinking, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills in the work environment. The results of the study showed that workers with better science literacy have higher abilities to analyze problems, develop innovative solutions, and optimize the production process. In addition, strategies to increase science literacy through problem-based training, team collaboration, and employee empowerment have proven to be effective in supporting the strengthening  of Problem-solving Skills. Evaluation of training programs is necessary to ensure their effectiveness in meeting industry needs. Thus, the integration of science literacy in vocational education and industrial training programs is a strategic step in preparing an adaptive, innovative, and competitive workforce. This study provides recommendations for the world of education and industry in developing a science literacy-based curriculum to increase the competitiveness of the workforce in the digital era.Abstrak: Literasi sains memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk Problem-solving Skill di tempat kerja, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan industri yang semakin kompleks. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan Narrative Literature Review (NLR) untuk mengeksplorasi hubungan antara literasi sains dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah serta mengidentifikasi pendekatan efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi tersebut. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) (PBL) dan Root Cause Analysis (RCA) merupakan metode yang terbukti meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, analitis, serta pengambilan keputusan berbasis data di lingkungan kerja. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pekerja dengan literasi sains yang lebih baik memiliki kemampuan lebih tinggi dalam menganalisis permasalahan, mengembangkan solusi inovatif, serta mengoptimalkan proses produksi. Selain itu, strategi peningkatan literasi sains melalui pelatihan berbasis masalah, kolaborasi tim, dan pemberdayaan karyawan terbukti efektif dalam mendukung penguatan Problem-solving Skill. Evaluasi program pelatihan diperlukan untuk memastikan efektivitasnya dalam memenuhi kebutuhan industri. Dengan demikian, integrasi literasi sains dalam pendidikan vokasi dan program pelatihan industri menjadi langkah strategis dalam menyiapkan tenaga kerja yang adaptif, inovatif, dan kompetitif.     Pengembangan bahan ajar anyflip berbasis Tri N pada pembelajaran IPAS kelas V Sekolah Dasar

    This research aims to 1) Describe the development design of Anyflip instructional materials based on Tri N for Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning at Tanjungsari Elementary School, Kebumen; 2) Describe the feasibility level of Anyflip instructional materials based on Tri N for IPAS learning at Tanjungsari Elementary School, Kebumen; 3) Determine students' responses to the use of Anyflip instructional materials based on Tri N for IPAS learning at Tanjungsari Elementary School, Kebumen. This study employs a research and development (R&D) approach and was conducted during the academic year 2023/2024. The development model used is ADDIE, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The instructional media developed is the instructional materials. The subjects of the study were fifth-grade students at Tanjungsari Elementary School, Kebumen. The object of this study was the Anyflip instructional materials based on Tri N. Media feasibility assessment was conducted by media experts and subject matter experts. The instruments used were observation sheets, interview guidelines, validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis techniques involved qualitative and quantitative analyses. The results indicate that: 1) This study produced Anyflip instructional materials based on TRI N using the ADDIE development steps, namely Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate; 2) The feasibility level of the Anyflip instructional materials, according to subject matter expert validation, scored 98 and according to media expert validation, scored 77, categorized as very feasible; 3) Student responses showed a positive category and were deemed highly feasible for use in the learning process, with a field trial score of 90%. Therefore, the Anyflip instructional materials based on Tri N, developed using the ADDIE model for fifth-grade IPAS learning, are highly suitable and received positive responses from students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mendeskrpsikan desain pengembangan bahan ajar Anyflip berbasis Tri N pada Pembelajaran IPAS di SD Negeri  Tanjungsari Kebumen; 2) Mendeskripsikan tingkat kelayakan bahan Anyflip berbasis Tri N pada Pembelajaran IPAS di SD Negeri Tanjungsari Kebumen; 3) Mengetahui respon peserta didik dalam penggunaan bahan ajar Anyflip berbasis Tri N pada Pembelajaran IPAS di SD Negeri Tanjungsari Kebumen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah ADDIE yang terdiri dari Analyze (Analisis), Design (Desain), Develop (Pengembangan), Implement (Implementasi), Evaluate (Evaluasi).Media pengembangan berupa Bahan Ajar. Subjek penelitian ialah peserta didik kelas V SD Negeri Tanjungsari Kebumen. Objek penelitian ini adalah Bahan Ajar Anyflip berbasis Tri N. Penilaian kelayakan media dilakukan oleh ahli media dan ahli materi. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, angket validasi, dan angket respon peserta didik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Penelitian ini menghasilkan Bahan Ajar Anyflip berbasis TRI N dengan langkah-langkah pengembangan ADDIE, yaitu Analyze (Analisis), Design (Desain), Develop (Pengembangan), Implemention (Implementasi), Evaluate (Evaluasi); 2) Tingkat kelayakan Bahan Ajar Anyflip menurut validasi ahli materi mendapat skor  98 dan menurut validasi ahli media mendapat skor 77 demgan kategori sangat layak; 3) Respon peserta didik menunjukkan kategori positif dan dinyatakan sangat layak untuk digunakan pada proses pembelajaran dengan perolehan skor uji coba lapangan sebesar 90%. Dengan demikian Bahan Ajar Anyflip berbasis Tri N dengan langkah pengembangan model ADDIE pada pembelajaran IPAS Kelas V sangat layak digunakan dan mendapat respon positif dari peserta didik

    Pengembangan media busy book dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung penjumlahan dan pengurangan kelas I SD Negeri Tamansari 3 Yogyakarta

    This study aims to develop and analyze the effectiveness of busy book learning media with the theme “Flora and Fauna of My Lucky Friends” on the counting ability of grade I students on the material of addition and subtraction of numbers 1 to 20 at SD Negeri Tamansari 3 Yogyakarta. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, including the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research sample involved 24 grade I students who used busy book media in learning. The research instruments included expert validation questionnaires, educator response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test tests to measure counting skills. The results of the analysis showed that the busy book media met the eligibility criteria both valid, practical and effective. The validation score of media experts is 86% and material experts 83%, as well as practicality with an educator response score of 84%, all in the very feasible category. This media is proven effective in improving counting skills, with an increase in the average score from 48.75 in the pre-test to 92.5 in the post-test, and an N-Gain value of 0.86 (high category). The busy book media encourages students to learn actively through contextualized manipulative activities, increases motivation, and strengthens understanding of concrete mathematical concepts. This approach supports the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum in creating fun and meaningful learning for young children.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menganalisis efektivitas media pembelajaran busy book bertema “Flora dan Fauna Sahabat Berhitungku” terhadap kemampuan berhitung peserta didik kelas I pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan 1 hingga 20 di SD Negeri Tamansari 3 Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE, meliputi tahap analisis, desain, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Sampel penelitian melibatkan 24 peserta didik kelas I yang menggunakan media busy book dalam pembelajaran. Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket validasi ahli, angket respon pendidik, serta tes pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur kemampuan berhitung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media busy book memenuhi kriteria kelayakan baik valid, praktis maupun efektif. Adapun persentase validasi ahli media 86% dan ahli materi 83%, serta kepraktisan dengan persentase respon pendidik 84%, semuanya dalam kategori sangat layak. Media ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung, dengan peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 48,75 pada pre-test menjadi 92,5 pada post-test, dan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,86 (kategori tinggi). Media busy book mendorong peserta didik untuk belajar secara aktif melalui aktivitas manipulatif yang kontekstual, meningkatkan motivasi, dan memperkuat pemahaman konsep matematika secara konkret. Pendekatan ini mendukung tujuan Kurikulum Merdeka dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan bermakna bagi anak usia dini. Dengan demikian, media busy book direkomendasikan sebagai strategi pembelajaran inovatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung di tingkat sekolah dasar.&nbsp
