    A study on mathematics anxiety and its manifestations in vocational high school students

    Mathematics is often perceived as a difficult subject that triggers anxiety, especially among students facing academic pressure. This study aims to analyze and describe the level of mathematics anxiety experienced by final-year vocational high school students. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to six randomly selected Grade XII students from a vocational school in Gedangsari. The instrument consisted of 23 statements: 6 positive and 17 negative using a Likert scale to assess students’ anxiety. Data analysis followed the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data reduction, display, and verification. The results showed varying levels of mathematics anxiety: 2 students were categorized as having very high anxiety, 3 were in the moderate category, and 1 student experienced very low anxiety. Students with high anxiety reported symptoms such as trembling hands, increased heart rate, mental blocks, and a lack of confidence during mathematics tasks. Meanwhile, students with lower anxiety demonstrated greater emotional control, focus, and proactive engagement in learning activities. The findings indicate that mathematics anxiety can significantly hinder students’ cognitive and emotional capacity to learn effectively. This study contributes to educational psychology by providing insight into how mathematics anxiety manifests among vocational high school students. It highlights the importance of recognizing emotional factors in learning, particularly in high-pressure academic contexts. The results can inform teachers, counselors, and curriculum designers in developing supportive strategies to reduce anxiety and enhance mathematical engagement in vocational education. In conclusion, addressing mathematics anxiety is crucial for fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to perform better academically. This research contributes to the understanding of mathematics anxiety in vocational education and emphasizes the need for empathetic, emotion-sensitive teaching approaches that support both cognitive and emotional student development

    Innovative smart box learning media for enhancing elementary students’ conceptual understanding of arithmetic operations

    Concept understanding is important to build in students, one of which is through learning media that can accommodate student needs. This research aims to develop the Smart Box as a learning medium for the mathematical operations of multiplication and division that is feasible and practical. This research is a research and development (R&D) study using the 4-D model, which consists of the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The sample for this research consists of 25 fourth-grade students from SD Negeri Jurugentong, selected using random sampling from the population of fourth-grade elementary school students. Data collection instruments included interview guidelines and questionnaires. Interview data were analyzed descriptively, while questionnaire data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The feasibility of the Smart Box media received an average score of 4.4 or 87%, categorised as "Very Feasible" by content experts, and an average score of 4.4 or 87%, categorised as "Very Feasible" by media experts. The practicality test obtained an average score of 4.6 or 91% including “Very Practical” by students. In conclusion, this research produces Smart Box Media that can contribute to supporting the learning of the concept of multiplication and division operations for grade IV elementary school students. This research contributes to mathematics education by providing a theoretically grounded, practically validated, and developmentally appropriate learning medium that enhances students' conceptual understanding of multiplication and division through real and interactive experiences

    Enhancing mathematics learning motivation in elementary school students through the make a match learning model

    This research aims to enhance the mathematics learning motivation of elementary school students through the implementation of the Make a Match learning model. The research background is based on the low motivation of students in participating in mathematics lessons, which impacts the lack of engagement and suboptimal learning outcomes. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with two cycles conducted in grade IV of SDN Bojongkawung, Sukabumi Regency, in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 18 students, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and attitude assessment instruments that included indicators of cooperation, responsibility, critical reasoning, and creativity. The research results indicate a significant increase in students' learning motivation, marked by an increase in the average attitude score from 40% in the pre-test to 55% in cycle I, and 74.25% in cycle II. The application of the Make a Match model creates a fun, interactive, and collaborative learning atmosphere, thereby encouraging students to be more active and enthusiastic in mathematics learning. Thus, the Make a Match model proves to be effective as a learning strategy that can enhance the learning motivation of elementary school students. This study contributes to the development of learning strategies that can enhance students' mathematics learning motivation through the implementation of an interactive and collaborative learning model

    The implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the classroom is able to condition students to the situation of linking concepts with problems in everyday life. This study aims to determine the effect of PBL on critical thinking skills and students' interest in learning science. The research design was pretest-posttest control group design with quasi-experiment type. The sample was obtained through simple random sampling. Data were collected using critical thinking skills test questions, learning interest questionnaire, and documentation. Data analysis through the analysis of normal curve criteria, N-Gain, and t test. The results showed that the posttest score of critical thinking skills of the experimental class was in the very high category, while the control class was high. The N-Gain score of the experimental class and control class was in the medium category. Learning interest of both classes in the high category. The t-test on the critical thinking skills variable and the learning interest variable obtained a sig value. 0,000 (< α). Thus, there is a significant difference in the experimental class against the control class. Based on the data, it is concluded that PBL has an effect on students' critical thinking skills and interest in learning science.Implementasi Problem Based Learning (PBL) di kelas mampu mengkondisikan siswa pada situasi mengaitkan konsep yang sedang dipelajari dengan permasalahan nyata dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh PBL terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan minat belajar IPA siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretest-posttest control group desain dengan jenis quasi eksperiment. Sampel didapatkan melalui simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan soal tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, angket minat belajar, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif melalui analisis kriteria kurva normal, N-Gain, dan uji t. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rerata skor keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen lebih besar daripada rerata skor kelas kontrol. Nilai posttest keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen pada kategori sangat tinggi, sedangkan kelas kontrol pada kategori tinggi. Skor N-Gain kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil minat belajar baik kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol berada pada kategori tinggi. Uji t pada variabel keterampilan berpikir kritis dan variabel minat belajar diperoleh nilai sig. yang sama, yaitu sebesar 0,000 (< α). Dengan demikian terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis maupun minat belajar pada kelas eksperimen terhadap kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan data penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa PBL memberikan pengaruh sangat signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan minat belajar IPA siswa

    A Journal Development of Physics E-Module Based on Deep Learning Approach on Alternative Energy.: "A Case Study on Alternative Energy Topics Integrated with the Papua Context through Canva-Based Learning Media"

    This study aims to develop and evaluate a physics e-module based on a deep learning approach, focusing on the topic of alternative energy, to enhance learning outcomes among senior high school students. Practically, the study offers an interactive learning resource aligned with deep learning principles, while theoretically, it contributes to the development of instructional media in physics education. The research used a Research and Development (R&D) design following the Four-D model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Data collection involved questionnaires and interviews with physics teachers to identify student learning needs and contextual challenges. The module's validity was assessed by two subject matter experts and one media expert, while its practicality was evaluated by 34 students and one physics teacher using response questionnaires. The effectiveness of the e-module was determined by analyzing pretest and posttest results using N-Gain and t-test calculations. The e-module achieved a validity score of 87.75% (very valid) and a practicality score of 93.66% (very practical). It also showed significant effectiveness, with an N-Gain score of 0.714 (high category) and a t-test result of 17.84 > 2.04 (significant at α = 0.05). Therefore, the use of the deep learning approach-based physics e module is appropriate to improve student’s learning outcomes.This study aims to develop a physics e-module based on deep learning approach on alternative energy that is valid, practical, and effective for senior high school. The data obtained were then analyzed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the e-module develop. To asses the validity of the module two material experts and one media expert were involved, while to find out the practicality level, 34 students and one physics teacher were given their evaluation. Futhermore, the effectiveness of the modul was assessed using the N-Gain calculation. The results show that the validation score was 87,75 % (very valid category), while the practicality test scored 93,66 % (very practical category). Meanwhile, the effect of the physics e-module is also quite significant, with the results of the t-test 17,84>2,04 and the N-Gain Calculation producing a score of 0,714. Therefore, the use of the deep learning approach-based physics e module is appropriate to improve student’s learning outcomes

    This study was motivated by the decline in learning quality due to low teacher pedagogical competence and the limited use of technology in the learning process. Initial observations in junior high school computer science classes showed decreased student learning outcomes, particularly in digital content production. This study aims to analyze the effect of Project-Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Artificial Intelligence (AI) on student learning outcomes based on learning creativity levels. Using a quasi-experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design, the study involved eighth-grade students in Bogor City, with achievement tests and creativity questionnaires as instruments. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Tukey's post-hoc test. Results indicated significant differences in learning outcomes between students using AI-assisted PBL and those without, along with an interaction effect between the learning model and creativity. Uji validitas butir soal berdasarkan penilaian ahli (judgment expert) dan uji reliabilitas menggunakan Cronbach's Alpha. Teknik analisis data untuk pengujian hasil penelitian menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji t dan uji Mann-Whitney dengan pengolahan data menggunakan program SPSS 17.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis game lebih baik sebagai media dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran kimia untuk pemahaman belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan media pembelajaran berbasis simulasi.     Character education in the independent curriculum is called the Pancasila Student Profile. This form of implementing Pancasila Student Profile character education can be carried out both intra-curricular, extra-curricular and co-curricularly. Co-curricular implementation in the form of project activities is a new thing in the independent curriculum. This study aims to describe the management of character education through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project. This research is qualitative research conducted at Playen 1 Public Middle School for the 2022/2023 school year. The research data was obtained through observation, interviews, and document study. The research subjects in this study were school principals, teachers, and students. Test the validity of using triangulation techniques. The results of the study show that character education management through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project at the planning stage starting from the formation of the team; identification of school readiness level; designing dimensions, themes, time allocation; preparation of project modules; and design a reporting strategy. The organizing stage consists of delegating tasks within the team. The implementation phase is by what has been planned according to the activity syntax to reporting in the project report card. At the supervision stage, the principal has carried out his duties but there is no supervision manual yet. The last stage is evaluating the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project so that a follow-up plan is obtained for the future.Pendidikan karakter dalam Kurikulum Merdeka disebut dengan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Bentuk pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter Profil Pelajar Pancasila ini dapat dilaksanakan baik secara intrakurikuler, ekstrakurikuler, dan kokurikuler. Pelaksanaan secara kokurikuler dalam bentuk kegiatan projek merupakan hal baru dalam kurikulum merdeka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan manajemen pendidikan karakter melalui Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Playen kelas 7 Tahun Pelajaran 2022/ 2023. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Subjek penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, guru, dan peserta didik. Uji validitas menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pendidikan karakter melalui Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila pada tahap perencanaan mulai dari pembentukan tim; identifikasi tingkat kesiapan sekolah; merancang dimensi, tema, alokasi waktu; penyusunan modul projek; dan merancang strategi pelaporan. Tahap pengorganisasian terdiri dari pendelegasian tugas dalam tim. Tahap pelaksanaan sesuai dengan yang telah dirancang baik dan sesuai dengan sintaks aktivitas hingga pelaporan dalam rapor projek. Pada tahap pengawasan, kepala sekolah sudah melaksanakan ketugasan hanya belum adanya buku panduan supervisi. Tahap terakhir evaluasi pelaksanaan Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila sehingga didapatkan rencana tindak lanjut untuk masa mendatang

    This study aims to analyze financing management in SD Negeri Godean 1 Kapanewon Godean, Sleman Regency. This research is qualitative research with a type and descriptive approach to analysis. Data sources used in this study through data collection using interview methods, non-participant observation, and documentation. Testing the validity of data with credibility tests (internal validity) and conducting data analysis and interpretation techniques with the process of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that the management of education financing at SD Negeri Godean 1 was carried out well. Financing activities at SD Negeri Godean 1 have been integrated between one application and other applications such as SIPLAH, SILABOSDA, and ARKAS.  This shows transparency and accountability. The implementation of education financing has been achieved as planned, especially in the use of funding sources although sometimes there are delays in the distribution of education funds.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen  pembiayaan di SD Negeri Godean 1 Kapanewon Godean Kabupaten Sleman. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis dan pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini melalui pengumpulan data dengan metode wawancara, observasi nonpartisipan dan dokumentasi. Melakukan uji keabsahan data dengan uji credibility (validitas internal) serta melakukan teknik analisis dan interpretasi data dengan proses reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pembiayaan pendidikan di SD Negeri Godean 1 terlaksana dengan baik. Kegiatan pembiayaan di SD Negeri Godean 1 sudah terintegrasi antara satu aplikasi dengan aplikasi lainnya seperti SIPLAH, SILABOSDA, dan ARKAS.  Hal ini menunjukkan adanya transparansi dan akuntabilitas. Pelaksanaan pembiayaan pendidikan sudah tercapai seperti yang direncanakan, terutama dalam penggunaan sumber dana walaupun terkadang ada keterlambatan dalam penyaluran dana pendidikan

    Pemanfaatan perangkat pembelajaran yang masih tergolong kurang interaktif memberikan kesan kegiatan pembelajaran yang membosankan dan memberikan contoh-contoh dalam pembelajaran yang kurang kontekstual sehingga menyebabkan siswa kurang memahami materi yang disampaikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan E-LKPD interaktif melalui etnomatematika kelas I SDN Kemukus. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan ADDIE. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I SDN Kemukus. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penilaian kelayakan produk oleh ahli materi mencapai 76,25% dengan kategori “layak”, sedangkan penilaian ahli media sebesar 94,6% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Hasil praktikalitas produk dinilai dari respon guru dan siswa pada uji coba kelompok kecil dan uji coba kelompok besar. Uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh persentase sebesar 98,9% dan 94,97% dengan kategori “sangat layak”, sedangkan uji coba kelompok besar memperoleh persentase sebesar 100% dan 96,92% dengan kategori “sangat layak”.
