Enhancing Students’ Speaking Skills in Discussion Texts Through Problem-Based Learning: A Classroom Action Research
This classroom action research investigates the impact of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with debate techniques in improving Grade 12 students' speaking skills in learning discussion texts in a public senior high school in Purworejo. The research is conducted in two cycles, the study follows Kemmis and McTaggart's action research phases: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Each cycle involved structured activities, including debates, real-world problem analysis, and collaborative discussions, to enhance students' fluency, accuracy, and critical thinking. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, observations, and questionnaires. Results revealed a significant improvement in speaking performance, with average post-test scores increasing from 73.86 to 86.43 across the cycles. The findings highlight and point to the effectiveness of combining PBL and debates in fostering active participation, boosting confidence, and improving speaking proficiency in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. These outcomes underline the potential of interactive and student-centered approaches to overcome challenges in EFL speaking skills development
Hubungan antara kegiatan ekstrakurikuler siswa pecinta lingkungan (SPL) terhadap kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin
Tujuan dari riset ini tidak lain untuk mengkaji Keterkaitan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler siswa pecinta lingkungan dengan kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Toribulu, Sulawesi Tengah. Metodologi yang diterapkan riset ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif dengan subjek 28 siswa, terdiri dari 14 siswa yang aktif dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan 14 siswa yang tidak. Temuan penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa para siswa yang ikut serta dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin menunjukkan hasil yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan mereka yang tidak terlibat, dengan nilai Sig. < 0,001. Dari penelitian ini dapat menyimpulkan bahwasannya kegiatan ekstrakurikuler memiliki kecenderungan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kesadaran lingkungan dan kedisiplinan siswa, serta mendukung temuan sebelumnya yang menyatakan bahwa kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dapat meningkatkan terhadap kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin.Tujuan dari riset ini tidak lain untuk mengkaji Keterkaitan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler siswa pecinta lingkungan dengan kesadaran lingkungan dan sikap disiplin siswa di SMK Negeri 1 Toribulu, Sulawesi Tengah. Counseling on Safe Snacks for School Children in Indonesia and Malaysia
ABSTRACT
Purpose The aim of community service are: Providing provisions and insight to teachers and students on the importance of healthy food types for students, Providing insight into the dangers of indiscriminate snacking and unhealthy food, Providing insight into safe and healthy snack behavior, Increasing awareness of school residents to jointly choose healthy snacks and provide access and facilities for healthy snacks.
Methods - This community service activity is carried out in the form of counseling / training containing material both online and offline to increase understanding of the importance of choosing healthy and nutritious snacks for school children. Training/counseling is a method or effort made by certain parties to increase the understanding of teachers or students by providing certain material in a planned and programmed manner. The stages of this training/counselling adapt the conceptual model. Health counseling is an activity to provide health education that has a method by disseminating messages and instilling confidence. So that people are not only aware, know, and understand but are also able to do or follow recommendations related to the health information
Result and discussions - This service activity was responded well by both teachers and students because it proved to have a significant impact. Through counseling activities related to safe snacks for children, teachers and students gain additional knowledge and information related to healthy and nutritious snacks. In addition, they can find out the dangers of careless snacking. Both teachers and students felt happy and satisfied with this activity. Increasing awareness in choosing healthy snacks and taking preventive efforts and real steps to provide healthy snacks for students at school.Conclusion - Community service activities went well, smoothly and received a good response as seen from the participation of all teachers, students and partners. Teachers and students were very enthusiastic during the service and felt happy because they had increased their knowledge about safe types of snacks. This service also succeeded in opening the insights of teachers and students to be careful with the snacks available and try to bring provisions on certain days or optimize the role of the school canteen.
 
ANALISIS KEPUTUSAN PEMBELIAN PADA DISTRO BLOOD BOUND
This study aims to examine the influence of price perception and product quality on purchase decisions at Distro Blood bounD in Porong, Sidoarjo.
A quantitative approach was applied, utilizing Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) for data analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 98 respondents selected using non-probability sampling with an accidental sampling technique. The research instrument was developed based on indicators of each variable and measured using a five-point Likert scale.
The findings indicate that both price perception and product quality have a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. These results highlight the importance of maintaining stable pricing strategies and offering high-performance products to influence consumer purchasing behavio
Analisis Perbedaan Cadangan Endapan Bijih Nikel Saprolit antara Hasil Eksplorasi dan Realisasi Penambangan pada Blok Penambangan Pulau Gee
This study is part of mining exploration activities, which are crucial to ensure the accuracy of reserve estimates in order to support effective production planning. This is particularly important given the frequent discrepancies between exploration data and actual mining realization. Therefore, a detailed analysis is required to identify the factors causing tonnage deviations in saprolite nickel ore deposits. This study aims to analyze the differences between saprolite nickel ore deposit reserves from exploration results and mining realization at the Gee Island Mining Block and identify the factors influencing these discrepancies. The method used is the area of influence approach, where reserve calculations are based on determining the boundary areas around drill holes, covering half of the area between adjacent drill holes. The mining system applied is an open-pit mine with a mining recovery rate of 90%. The results show that the mined nickel ore tonnage in July was 20,161 tons from exploration, with an actual production tonnage of 19,432 tons, while in August, the exploration tonnage was 25,603 tons, with an actual production tonnage of 24,410 tons. The percentage of tonnage deviation reached 3.62% in July and 4.66% in August. Several factors were identified as causes of tonnage reduction, including drilling spacing and recovery, preparation process, ore extraction technique, and the applied reserve calculation method.Penelitian ini merupakan bagian dari kegiatan eksplorasi pertambangan yang memiliki urgensi dalam memastikan akurasi estimasi cadangan guna mendukung perencanaan produksi yang efektif. Hal ini penting mengingat sering ditemui perbedaan antara data eksplorasi dengan realisasi penambangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan analisis rinci terhadap faktor-faktor penyebab penyimpangan tonase pada endapan bijih nikel saprolit. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan cadangan endapan bijih nikel saprolit hasil eksplorasi dengan realisasi penambangan pada Blok Penambangan Pulau Gee, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perbedaan tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode perhitungan cadangan dengan pendekatan luas daerah pengaruh, yaitu perhitungan berdasarkan penentuan batas daerah di sekitar lubang bor, mencakup setengah dari area antar lubang bor yang berdekatan. Sistem penambangan yang diterapkan adalah tambang terbuka dengan metode open pit dan mining recovery sebesar 90%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tonase bijih nikel yang tertambang selama bulan Juli adalah tonase eksplorasi sebesar 20.161 ton dengan tonase produksi sebesar 19.432 ton, sedangkan pada bulan Agustus, tonase eksplorasi sebesar 25.603 ton dengan tonase produksi sebesar 24.410 ton. Persentase penyimpangan tonase mencapai 3,62% pada bulan Juli dan 4,66% pada bulan Agustus. Ditemukan beberapa faktor penyebab penurunan tonase, antara lain spasi dan recovery pemboran, proses preparasi, teknik pengambilan ore, serta metode perhitungan cadangan yang diterapkan
Warisan konflik Indonesia-Malaysia 1963-1966: Dampaknya terhadap diplomasi masa kini
This study aims to examine the impact of the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation on their current diplomatic relations. The ups and downs of political dynamics are an interesting topic in examining the long-standing bilateral history. This study attempts to present perspectives from various parties as a form of objective narrative. The research method used is the historical method with a descriptive qualitative approach, through five stages: selecting the topic, which is the dynamics and impact of the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation on their diplomatic relations; collecting sources or heuristics in the form of primary and secondary sources according to the topic; historical criticism or verification; analysis or interpretation; and historical writing or historiography. Furthermore, an in-depth analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach to obtain accurate and factual data. The results of the study indicate that the Indonesia-Malaysia confrontation had a significant impact on the political dynamics between the two countries, namely a relationship that continued to experience recurring patterns of cooperation and conflict. This confrontation has shaped the perspectives of various parties, including Indonesia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Each country has a different viewpoint regarding the main actors that triggered the tension between these two neighboring countries. Although the post-confrontation period was marked by instability, diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Malaysia have gradually improved and strengthened in recent years through cultural diplomacy.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak Konfrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia terhadap hubungan diplomatik keduanya di masa kini . Dinamika politik yang naik turun menjadi topik yang menarik dalam mengkaji sejarah bilateral yang terjalin sejak lama. Penelitian ini berusaha menghadirkan perspektif dari berbagai pihak sebagai bentuk narasi yang objektif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode historis dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan melalui lima tahapan yaitu pemilihan topik berupa dinamika dan dampak kofrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia terhadap hubungan diplomatiknya, pengumpulan sumber atau heuristik berupa sumber primer dan sekunder sesuai topik, kritik sejarah atau verifikasi, analisis atau interpretasi, dan penulisan sejarah atau historiografi. Selanjutnya dilakukan analisis secara mendalam melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk memperoleh data yang akurat dan faktual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konfrontasi Indonesia-Malaysia memberikan pengaruh yang cukup signifikan bagi dinamika politik antara keduanya, yaitu hubungan yang terus mengalami pola berulang seperti kerjasama dan konflik. Konfrontasi ini membangun adanya perspektif dari berbagai pihak seperti Indonesia, Malaysia, Inggris, dan Amerika Serikat. Masing-masing negara memiliki sudut pandang yang berbeda mengenai aktor utama yang memicu ketegangan dua negara tetangga ini. Walaupun keadaan pasca konfrontasi diwarnai oleh ketidakstabilan, hubungan diplomatik Indonesia dan Malaysia secara bertahap terus mengalami perbaikan dan semakin menguat di masa kini melalui diplomasi kebudayaan
Peran strategis kelompok sadar wisata dalam pengembangan Wisata Embung Banyu Langit di Desa Suka Maju
This study aims to examine the role of the Kelompok Sadar Wisata (POKDARWIS) in the development of Embung Banyu Langit tourism in Suka Maju Village, Kongbeng District, East Kutai. This research used qualitative method with data collection techniques including in-dept interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Data analysis is conducted descriptively and qualitatively to illustrate the role of POKDARWIS in managing, promoting and empowering the local community to ensure the sustainable development of Embung Banyu Langit tourism. The result show that POKDARWIS of Suka Maju Village plays a significant role as a facilitator, motivator, initiator and manager in tourism development. Supporting factors include the village’s tourism attraction, government support, and active community participation. Based on these findings, this study recomendeds increased support from the government and stakeholders to strengthen the capacity and role of POKDARWIS in Suka Maju Village to achieve sustainable and inclusive tourism development.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran kelompok Sadar Wisata (POKDARWIS) dalam pengembangan wisata Embung Banyu Langit di Desa Suka Maju, Kecamatan Kongbeng, Kutai Timur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif dan studi dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara deskriptif-kualitatif untuk menggambarkan peran POKDARWIS Desa Suka Maju dalam mengelola, mempromosikan dan memberdayakan masyarakat lokal agar pariwisata Embung Banyu Langit dapat berkembang secara berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa POKDARWIS Desa Suka Maju memiliki kontribusi signifikan dalam hal sebagai fasilitator, sebagai motivator, inisiator dan pengelola. Faktor pendukung dari peran tersebut karena Desa Suka Maju memiliki daya tarik wisata yang didukung oleh Pemerintah setempat serta adanya partisipasi masyarakat. Berdasarkan temuan pada penelitian tersebut, maka rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya dukungan pemerintah dan pemangku kepentingan lain untuk memperkuat kapasitias dan peran POKDARWIS Desa Suka maju dalam mewujudkan pengembangan wisata yang berkelanjutan dan inklusif
Critical thinking of elementary school students in solving numeracy problems in terms of learning styles:
This study aims to describe students’ critical thinking abilities in solving numeracy problems in terms of four learning styles: activist, theorist, pragmatist, and reflector. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving students who represent each learning style as classified by the Honey and Mumford model. Data were collected through numeracy tests and in-depth interviews to explore students' reasoning processes and critical thinking indicators. The findings indicate that students with an activist learning style tend to excel in the reasoning indicator, as they are able to explain their problem-solving strategies clearly and appropriately. However, their solutions often lack thoroughness, with some steps being overlooked. Students with a theorist learning style show strengths in the inference indicator, demonstrating the ability to provide logical explanations and clearly articulate cause-effect relationships. Those with a pragmatist learning style also lean towards the reasoning indicator, offering straightforward and practical explanations of their chosen strategies. Meanwhile, reflector-type learners display a preference for the inference indicator as well, outlining their steps but expressing uncertainty and hesitation in their answers. In conclusion, students’ critical thinking abilities in numeracy tasks are influenced by their learning styles, with each style showing a different emphasis on specific critical thinking indicators. This research contributes to the field by: (1) providing insights into the relationship between learning styles and critical thinking indicators in the context of numeracy; (2) informing educators on how to tailor instructional strategies to align with students’ learning styles in order to enhance critical thinking; and (3) offering a foundation for future studies aimed at developing numeracy-based learning tools that accommodate diverse learning preferences
Creating analogical models to help students learn concepts and prevent misconceptions about battery charging systems in cars and motorcycles
This study aims to develop an analogy-based learning model following the FAR (Focus, Action, Reflection) principles to explain the working mechanism of battery charging systems in cars and motorcycles, and to prevent student misconceptions. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach, involving design, validation, and evaluation stages. The analogy used was adapted from a household water pump system to illustrate the battery charging process. Data were collected from automotive lecturers and vocational teachers through structured assessments of the analogy mapping. The results indicate that most respondents agreed with the analogy mapping, with no misconceptions identified. The structure and function of the analogies were rated convincing, scoring 90 for both motorcycle and car charging systems. Concept comprehension scores were 85 for motorcycles and 80 for cars, while analogy acceptance scored 100 and 90 respectively. The findings imply that structured FAR analogies can enhance student understanding of abstract electrical concepts, reduce the risk of misconceptions, and provide a practical instructional strategy for vocational automotive education.Abstrak: Model Analogi adalah salah satu metode yang digunakan untuk mempermudah pemahaman siswa dengan jalan membawa pengalaman atau pengetahuan yang sudah dimilikinya dengan pengalaman baru yakni materi yang akan dipelajarinya, hal ini akan mempermudah pemahaman siswa, sebab sifat asing materi/ objek yang akan dipelajari telah dicoba difamiliarkan dengan pengalaman masa lampau, namun dalam menjalankan analogi perlu berhati-hati sebab disisi lain analogi dapat menimbulkan miskonsepsi dan kesalahan pemahaman bagi siswa. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan model analogi sesuai kaidah FAR untuk menjelaskan cara kerja sistem pengisian baterai pada kendaraan mobil dan sepeda motor. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research & Development (R&D).
Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian didapatkan data bahwa mayoritas koresponden setuju terhadap hasil pemetaan analogi yang menyangkut materi dengan analog yang digunakan. Pada pemetaan tidak ditemukan adanya miskonsepsi maupun kesalahan konsep, hal ini ditunjukkan pada pernyataan bahwa struktur dan fungsi analoginya menyakinkan yang dinilai dengan angka 90 untuk sistem pengisian sepeda motor dan 90 untuk mobil.

Interaksi Habitus dan Modal Pendidikan: Strategi Manajerial Kepala Sekolah dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik
This study employs a qualitative approach with research subjects consisting of the school principal, Indonesian language teachers, and two student representatives from grades X, XI, and XII, selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document studies. Data analysis was conducted in three stages: data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusions.The findings indicate that the principal’s role as a manager in elaborating habitus and educational capital is implemented by designing literacy and Indonesian language learning activities using learning strategies based on students’ cognitive structures. This is achieved through diagnostic assessments involving basic writing tests, learning processes that present concrete facts, and student engagement through contextual questions.Tujuan dalam penelitian ini ialah menganalisis strategi manajerial kepala sekolah sebagai manajer dalam mengelaborasi habitus dan modal pendidikan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek kepala sekolah, guru bahasa Indonesia, dan perwakilan dua peserta didik dari kelas X, XI, dan XII melalui teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pengumpulan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahap kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peran kepala sekolah sebagai manajer dalam mengelaborasi habitus dan modal pendidikan dengan merancang kegiatan literasi dan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia melalui strategi belajar yang berdasarkan pada struktur kognitif peserta didik melalui asesmen diagnostik dengan tes dasar menulis, proses belajar dengan menghadirkan fakta konkret, dan keterlibatan peserta didik melalui pertanyaan kontekstual. Implikasi dari penelitian ini ialah dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar untuk mengeksplorasi lebih lanjut terkait peran kepala sekolah sebagai manajer dalam memaksimalkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di lingkungan sekolah
