Arte de Amatiwanã Trumai: mito, memória e resistência indígena

    Get PDF

Frontier walkers: resistance and normativity in LGBT+ speeches

This research dealt with in this article addresses LGBT+ enunciations about discrimination that takes the form of LGBT+phobia .  Held in 2016, it had the collaboration of sixteen participants aged between 19 and 36 years old and residing in Porto Alegre, Gravataí, Canoas or Alvorada, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul .  It tries to understand discourses, evidencing the meaning effects related to LGBT+phobia and the ways in which these meanings are linked, or not, to movements of resistance to heteronormativity.  In the data production stage, we used virtual questionnaires, through the free Survey Monkey platform , constituting a qualitative work from the perspectives of Menga Lüdke, Marli André and Maria Cecília de Souza Minayo.  The research is justified by the search for understanding of the possibilities of LGBT+ people saying, apprehending how the silencing, the interdiction of saying and the transgression are materialized in a tense way in the discourses.  Jonathan Ned Katz, Júlio Assis Simões, Regina Facchini and João Silvério Trevisan invite you to think about the history of hetero and homosexuality.  Michel Pêcheux and Eni Orlandi are the central references to discuss games of power present in language games, enabling a less naive approach to discourses.  Two meaning effects were identified - struggle ME and violence ME, inscribed in two antagonistic discursive formations - DF of Transgression and DF of Normativity, which, in turn, materialize the Ideological Formation of Heteronormativity  Such discoveries demonstrate that subjects and meanings are constituted through the act of wandering, sliding, or in the interval.  Even though sometimes silenced, LGBTs+ constitute the interval between the silence caused by LGBT+phobic words and gestures from others and the disruptive transgression

Education and the Postmodern Subject in Neoliberal Society and the Possibilities of Emancipation by Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy

    Get PDF
Background: In a society increasingly marked by the logic of contemporary capitalism, education becomes an instrument for the reproduction of alienated labour forces. Objectives: To provide an overview of the characteristics of subjectivity and attitudes of the postmodern subject based on the studies of Fredric Jameson and David Harvey; unveiling the development of techniques for producing more effective ways of subjecting the company culture to neoliberal rationality described by Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval and their influences on the formation of contemporary identities; reflect on the role of education, in particular of scientific education, in overcoming the state of alienation brought about by the capitalist system of neoliberal societies. Design: Articulation between exploratory and bibliographic research, articulated with the theoretical frameworks of Paulo Freire’s critical theory and pedagogy.  Settings and Participants: Given the typology of the research carried out, articles, books and documents about the capitalist system in neoliberal societies, the educational legislation and Paulo Freire’s pedagogy. Data Collection and analysis: Critical reflection on the texts consulted and included in the research. Results: There is a relationship between the subjects constituted from the marketing logic and the role of the school as a reproducer of mechanisms of subjugation to the hegemonic capitalist system; there is also the business and industrial influence in the development of educational policies throughout the history of education. Conclusions: As a possibility of transforming this scenario of alienation from the educational system to hegemonic power, the Freirean conception of emancipatory critical humanist education is presented, in addition to the reproduction of capitalist logic, based on the awareness of subjects based on dialogical pedagogy and the appropriation of the scientific knowledge as a transformer of reality

Mathematics Teachers and Curriculum: Authors or Actors?

    Get PDF
Background: Among the plurality of themes addressed by curricular studies, the nature of decision-making processes involving education professionals has guided some research agendas. Delineated by one of those agendas, this text starts by asking what the participation of teachers in processes involving curriculum is. Objective: To analyse the rationality underlying the involvement of mathematics teachers in the context of curriculum reforms in Brazil and Portugal, presenting a theoretical basis inspired by Jürgen Habermas and its suitability to discuss teachers’ participation as authors or actors of curricula reforms. Design: Reconstructive analysis of rationality according to the Habermasian discursive ethics. Settings and participants: The context of a comparative study that surveys documents and interviews with two managers of a curricular reform project in Portugal and Brazil, respectively. Data collection and analysis: Analysis of the rationality that underlies the discourse present in curriculum documents of the countries involved and interviews. Results: Centralising elements of national curriculum policies do not mean by themselves the homogenisation of curricula, the rationality that underlies how projects predict the participation of teachers express an illusory discursive varnish about “teachers actively participating,” there are spaces of micropolicies with controlled margin of changes that advocate mathematics teachers as builders of policies, but the mechanisms of external regulation contradict this. Conclusions: Historically, in both countries, the educational systems, even expressing a rhetorical discourse on autonomy and flexibility, have remained hostages to the regulation of centralist global policies

    Get PDF

    Get PDF

Development of Mathematical Thinking Skill from the Formulation and Resolution of Verbal Arithmetic Problems

    Get PDF
Background: mathematics teachers interested in improving student performance in the face of the low academic results presented, we seek, Objective: articulate the skills of mathematical thinking with the formulation and resolution of verbal statement arithmetic problems (PAVE). Design: the methodology was focused on action research from the design and application of a didactic sequence developed from three categories of analysis: thinking skills, formulation, and solving of arithmetic problems. Setting and participants: basic education students starting high school. Data collection and analysis: we created and implemented a didactic sequence that includes two directions: one for the formulation and the other the resolution of PAVE. Each one was monitored from three activities: opening, development and closing. Results: difficulties in formulating and solving verbal statement arithmetic problems were evidenced in those students. Conclusions: after applying the intervention, changes were evidenced in the formulation and resolution of verbal statement arithmetic problems in the group of students. Some difficulties detected in the students are related to the length of the statement, the order of presentation of data, the situation of the question, the size of the numbers used, elements that affect the syntactic and mathematical structures of the PAV

    No full text
