Palembang: Penerbit dan Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The luffa plant/oyong is a fruit vegetable that is widely consumed by Indonesians in the form of fresh fruit The nutritional value of luffa is quite good because this fruit vegetable is a source of vitamins and minerals. Oyong plant is a climbing plant/vine. Oyong plants need a dry climate, with sufficient water availability throughout the season. Agricultural cultivation systems are never free from pests or diseases. In the field of farmers, there is not much knowledge about plant diseases or the causes of the disease itself. For this reason, this research practice aims to determine the effect of intercropping on disease attacks on Oyong (Luffa acutangula) plants. Field practice has been carried out in Kuripan Village, Empat Petulai Dangku District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province from May to June 2022. The observation method used in this field practice is the direct observation method in the field which is carried out by determining the land, the land being taken has different cropping patterns. Then determine the plants to be sampled using the diagonal method. The data collected were primary data in the form of direct observation of symptoms in the field and secondary data obtained from farmer interviews. From the observation, there were 2 types of diseases, namely brown spots and virus mosaic
Komparasi Produksi Cabai Merah (Capsicum annum L.) Sistem Terapung dan Non-Terapung pada Berbagai Dosis Pupuk Kompos Sapi
Hidayatulah R, Apriliani S, Susilawati S, Ammar M. 2022. Comparison of production of red chili (Capsicum annum L.) floating and non-floating systems at various doses of cow compost fertilizer. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 712-721. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Cow dung waste generated in livestock activities has not been utilized optimally. Manure produced from farms is continuous as long as the farm operates. This will be a problem because it will pollute the surrounding environment. To overcome this problem, the potential of cow dung waste can be used as compost for horticultural crops such as red chili (Capsicum annum L). This study aimed to compare the growth and production of red chili (Capsicum annum L. var. Gada F1) with floating and non-floating systems at various doses of cow compost. The study started with the cultivation of red chili varieties of Gada F1 by applying compost at various doses with a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 replications. The dose of cow dung compost used is 300 g/5 kg of soil; 600 g/5 kg of soil; 900 g/5 kg soil; and 0 g/5 kg of soil as control. Data were obtained from the calculation of plant growth and production which included height, number of leaves, diameter of the crown, number of flowers, number of fruits, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit weight per plant and analyzed using ANOVA. If there is a significant difference, then it can be continued with the BNT test (Least Significant Difference). For the results of production observations which include fruit fresh weight, fruit length, and fruit diameter, an unpaired independent sample t-test was used. This t-test is used to compare the difference between the two means (means) of two independent samples with the assumption that the data are normally distributed.. With a non-floating system and application of cow compost at a dose of 900 g/5 kg of soil, it can provide the most optimal results for the production of red chili plants of the Gada F1 variety

Pengaruh Ukuran Umbi terhadap Pertumbuhan Awal Tiga Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L.)
Susilawati, S., Sodikin, E., Sulaiman ,F., & Irmawati, I. (2023). The effect of bulb size on the initial growth of three varieties of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.). In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 151-162). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Both vegetative (using bulbs as planting material) and generative (using seeds) methods can be used to cultivate shallot plants. Although using bulbs is simpler, it has a number of drawbacks, including the need for more seeds, relatively high costs, and the challenge of planning a planting timetable. In order to support the growth of three types of shallots, this study sought to assess the strength of the correlation and regression models of the bulb features. The study was carried out during June and July 2023 in Tanjung Pering Village, Indralaya Utara Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra, at coordinates 003 13'00" LS and 104 38'16" E. A Randomized Block Design with two components and three replications was employed in the study. The first factor is the utilization of three different varieties: Bauji, Bima Brebes, and Tajuk. The second component is bulb size, which comes in three sizes: small (1.5 cm), medium (1.5 cm to 2.0 cm), and large (>2.0 cm). The research plot measured 150 cm by 100 cm, and each treatment plot had 21 plants. The parameters that were measured included the bulb character, which included the diameter, weight, length, and volume of the bulb, and the bulbs initial growth, which included the leaf length, number of leaves, tillers, and SPAD value. Based on the coefficient of determination (R2), the findings demonstrated that the linear zero-intercept model consistently performed better than other regression models in correlating bulb diameter with bulb length, weight, and volume. The Tajuk variety had the most leaves and tillers but the lowest SPAD score when varieties and bulb sizes were combined early in growth. Shallot plants develop best in their early stages on little bulbs. Conclusion the most accurate model for correlation between bulbs characters uses a zero intercept linear regression model

(Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 327-332). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Gogo rice is a dryland tolerant crop and can be grown as an intercrop under stands. However, the shade of standing plants is an obstacle to its growth in plantation land, so efforts are needed to obtain gogo rice varieties that are tolerant to shade conditions. This paper aimed to assess the development of hope strains of gogo rice that have multi-tolerant properties to biophysical conditions of drought stress that are resistant to shade through evaluation of the adaptability of selected gogo rice strains. The purpose of this study was to obtain new varieties of shade-resistant gogo rice from 5 shade-treated varieties of gogo rice. 5 varieties of gogo rice. Research was conducted on the growth and production of shade-tolerant gogo rice varieties and NPK doses (50 kg/ha, 75 kg/ha, 100 kg/ha). Genetic information is useful for obtaining new high-yielding varieties of gogo rice. This study begins with seed germination. This research was conducted at the TPH Provincial Agriculture Office. Sumsel. Tools used: polybags, paralon pipes, stationery, This study used a split plot design. This study consists of 2 factors, namely the shade factor (N) as the main plot and the variety factor (V) as the child plot. The watering factor as the main plot consists of 4 levels, namely: N1 = watered every 3 days, N2 = watering every 6 days. While the varietal factor as a plot consists of 5 (five) treatment levels, namely: V1 = Variety 1, V2 = Variety 2, V3 = Variety 3, V4 = Variety 4, and V5 = Variety 5. In total there were 4 main plots and 5 subplots with each treatment repeated 3 times with each trial unit repeated 3 times so that 60 polybags were obtained. Measurements of plant growth variables include: plant height (cm), number of leaves, number of saplings, leaf area (cm2): Calculated using the formula: LD (cm2) = ( p x l x k x n), where p = maximum leaf length, l = maximum leaf width, k = correction factor, n = number of leaves in one plant. Observations of yield variables include: total fresh weight of plants (g) and total dry weight of plants (g), number of productive tillers, panicle length (cm), number of panicle seeds (seeds), weight of seeds per plant, weight of 1000 seeds and % of hollow seeds per plant, proline content. The data collected were analyzed by variety analysis (Test F) at the level of 5%. If there is a noticeable effect (F test 5%) then proceed with the Isolated Real Difference Test (BNT) at the level of 5% to determine the difference between treatments

Potensi Penerapan Inovasi Teknologi untuk Peningkatan Produksi Padi Lahan Rawa Lebak di Provinsi Jambi
Minsyah NI. 2022. The Potential of application of technological innovation to increasing swamp land rice production in Jambi Province. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-10 Tahun 2022, Palembang 27 Oktober 2022. pp. 208-216. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The increase in rice production confronted: (1) The problem of continuing the conversion of fertile agricultural lands (paddy fields) to uses other than rice farming, and (2) The challenge of increasing sustainable rice production. One of the solutions is optimizing the use of swamp land. Writing this paper aimed to provide an overview of swamp land in Jambi Province in terms of: (1) utilization for rice farming, and; (2). Adoption of Integrated Crop Management (PTT) technology innovations. The use of swamp land in Jambi Province is not optimal, most of it is only planted once a year with local rice, aged within 5-7 months, simple cultivation techniques, minimal maintenance, and production of 2-3 t gkp/ha. One of the innovations to increase rice productivity and production in swamp land is Integrated Crop Management (PTT) for rice. In an effort to accelerate the mass diffusion of PTT rice technology innovations, the Ministry of Agriculture implemented the Integrated Crop Management Field School Program, abbreviated as SL-PTT, the program started in 2008. During this program it has been proven to be able to increase rice productivity. After this program ends, the opportunity to be adopted, fully implemented by farmers and diffused to other places tends to depend on the perceptions of farmers that are formed
Konservasi Entomofaga dan Polinator di Rawa Lebak untuk Mendukung Keberlajutan Pertanian di Lahan Suboptimal
Herlinda, S., & Sari, J.M.P.S. (2023). Conservation of entomophages and pollinators in freshwater swamps to support agricultural sustainability on suboptimal lands. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-11 Tahun 2023, Palembang 21 Oktober 2023. (pp. 1-24). Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Suboptimal wetlands in Indonesia consist of freshwater swamp, tidal lowland and peatland. The freshwater swamp can generally be used to grow food crops, vegetables and plantations. In the freshwater swamp of South Sumatra, farmers grow vegetables using the "surjan" (rice-field bund) system in addition to rice and corn. The cultivation of vegetables between rice fields in the "surjan" system is very beneficial to the balance of the ecosystem, especially by increasing the diversity of flora, which can increase the diversity of fauna, especially predatory arthropods and parasitoids (entomophagous insects) and pollinators. The abundance of these entomophages and pollinators needs to be increased through conservation. This paper explains the approach to conservation of entomophagous and pollinators by 1) reducing disturbance factors, 2) increasing the habitats and food resources (niches) needed by entomophagous and pollinators. This literature review has shown that in freshwater swamps, factors that disrupt the lives of entomophagous and pollinating insects include land burning, spraying of synthetic insecticides and herbicides, intensive cultivation (full tillage), and clean cultivation. Factors that disrupt the lives of entomophagous insects and pollinators should be avoided by not burning land, not spraying synthetic insecticides and herbicides, and minimising tillage to allow annual wild plants to flower on embankments. Flowering annual wild plants provide food for entomophagous insects and pollinators. However, many factors that support the life of entomophages and pollinators in freshwater swamps have also been identified and have been implemented by local farmers and have become local wisdom. The intercropping of long beans and chillies and the planting of flowering vegetables such as bitter melon, cucumbers, long beans and squash could support the sustainability of entomophages and pollinators by providing niches (food, nectar and pollen) and alternative host insects and prey for predators. The use of cover crops or straw mulch on chilli fields could provide habitat for predatory arthropods. Finally, entomophages and pollinators can be conserved by reducing and preventing activities that threaten their lives and by increasing space/habitat and food resources
